They provided complimentary hot cocoa. There was wine, organic soaps, Christmas wreaths and Christmas trees all available at a very low cost. The carriage ride was spectacular! We brought a blanket along because it can get very cold, but nothing unbearable. We were able to see the wide open views. We could see Miles and miles of vineyards and wildlife. Our tour guide Suzy had so much knowledge and she was just so friendly. She gave stories about the surrounding lands and knowledge on winemaking. What a gem she is to the whole operation! Our carriage ride lasted about 25min and it was worth the $40 for the four of us. After our carriage ride we were able to settle down right next to the coziest fire pit. We had chairs and tables provided for our belongs. Wood would brought to us constantly and we were checked on frequently. Bathrooms were available and were able to sit there over an hour. They readily answered our many questions about the vineyards, the wineries, and the region. We visited four wineries, and at each stop we were escorted into a tasting room. Our guides and the horses waited patiently outside at each stop, and there was room on the wagon for our purchases. First stop on my shopping trip for The Hat: REI. Before I could even find the hat section though, I was sidetracked by the winter sale--mittens, scarves, hats, coats. I like to do my Christmas shopping early. Name brand stuff like North Face at low prices. Handed off those items to the hubby who was busy eyeing the snowshoes (maybe he is taking up a new hobby) and continued my quest for The Hat. I knew this place would have some great choices (I checked their online selection), brands like Columbia, Outdoor Research, and REI, of course. I found one full aisle (both sides) and a sale rack on the adjacent aisle full of potentials. I eventually chose one after some consultation with the hubby. It came from the sale rack, too! While purchasing the winter gear and The Hat, the clerk asked if we had a membership or if any member of the family had one. Sure, let's try a family member's name. Bingo. The clerk explained that attaching my purchase to a membership allows me to bring the items back within one year of purchase if not completely satisfied.
