Bought a bottle, went to the store for pickup and the owner refused to give me what i paid for saying they don't carry that bottle. Meanwhile it's on the shelves at a higher price so he didn't honor the price i bought it for already, cancelled the order and effectively walked away. if that's your kind of customer service youll love this place! read more

This is a beautiful wine shop on Jericho Turnpike. Nice selection of different types of wine and alcohol. We found Tuaca which my boyfriend has been looking for forever. He is not a big drinker but he likes to make a hot apple pie cider in the winter and this is the best ingredient for it. I bought a few bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling wines. They give you a 10% discount if you buy six bottles of wine. Overall, I would give it a 3 1/2 star but I'm giving them a 4 star since the kid who checked us out was sweet. read more

Since I have a great love a good bottle of wine, I am happy to travel to a specific wine store knowing that I will find that one special bottle of wine that meets my mood on that specific day or time. I love visiting numerous wine shops when traveling, especially when I am in Europe. Wine Doc is one of my favorite wine stores on Long Island that I am willing to drive the distance. Meant to review this place when I came around the holidays but I'm finally getting around to it now. The place is great. Before entering this store I had driven all around the island looking at different prices and for one wine in particular that I couldn't find anywhere. This was about my tenth stop of the day (no exaggeration) and I noticed that the selection was extremely diverse and plentiful but that there prices on EVERYTHING were at least a dollar cheaper than any of the other stores. SOLD! They had liquor bottles of all sizes and a pretty decent wine selection. The one wine that I was looking for however was the Line 39 Petite Syrah. I had asked all other ten liquor store workers if they carried this particular wine and each time I was told No because there wasn't a high demand for Petite Syrah. The gentlemen at Elwood Wines and Liquors told me that they did not carry this wine I was looking for but instead of saying no and turning their heads like they couldn't be bothered assisting me, the man recommended a different Petite Syrah that he carried. Unfamiliar with the one he recommended he assured me I would like it. I bought a few other bottles for stocking stuffers and went on my way. The next day I realized I wanted to trade in a small liquor bottle that I purchased for a different one. I still had my receipt but was unsure whether or not they would allow me to do the exchange. I went into the store and asked if I could do a trade and the man told me yes, only because I asked nicely! I thought that was a pretty fair response! Definitely will come back to this liquor store even though it is a little bit out of the way for me. The best part is the person I bought the Petite Syrah for told me that it was AMAZING, even better than the Line 39. Great recommendation!!!!!!!!! read more

Came here with the hubbs while running errands. They have a great selection of wine and many things I had never seen before. We shopped in Spanish wine which is the norm for our household and they didn't disappoint. The staff were very nice and knowledgeable. Plenty of parking out front even when it is packed as well. read more

The prices for the lower end items are pretty competitive...but you come here to have GOOD booze. This is a great shop with a massive selection. They moved to a larger location last year and have now caught up with the space which is now packed with inventory. They stock wines at all levels and run sale. Items in every price category. The are knowledgable and friendly. They alway have a coupon running which encourages case buyers like myself. Most of all I get what I want at a fair price and what I don't see they will order. Their Scotch and Whisky selection is extensive as well. Come here and no need to go running all over. read more

The gentlemen in there are always offering good sound advice on new wines to try. Prices are reasonable. Best find for me has been the 2009 BenMarco Malbec - great wine and reasonably priced. Look out for their coupons in the neighborhood coupon packs - 20% off a mix and match case is an amazing deal! Or they will run a 15% off wine purchase. I am a fan. read more

Good selection of wines at this store. They claim to discount 10% on a purchase of 6 bottles of wine and 15% on 12 bottles on their signage. This has not been my experience in my two purchases there so far. On the first occasion I purchased 6 bottles and it was not discounted being told any bottle that was priced ending in 8 (ie .98 - 8 indicating it is already discounted) is not eligible for discount. Today I purchased 6 bottles priced at 13.99 and again did not receive a discount. I was told that it is already priced well. This is contrary to the signage they have posted which does not explain a price break on discounts. This is also contrary to what I was told on my last visit and purchase. While they have a good selection and some helpful staff it seems their discount policy is arbitrary and disappointing in its application. There are other stores that are clear in there discount policies and have good selections and knowledgeable staffs. Therefore, given my experiences at Wine Doc I will choose to use others in the future. read more

Always dependable - the owner and other members of his staff have great recommendations. You can give them a price range and they'll recommend what's good. Vodka - try 3 olive cherry - Huge hit with our friends. Happy to see they carry others our friends recommended to us. Mixed drink you can have on the rocks - try Kinky. Sweet Riesling - try Relax.
