My review of his company remains at 1 star: - Cancelled late Friday afternoon for a Sunday tour - His reasoning was that he had not booked enough people. - He promised to refund me promptly but failed to do so. About a month after our tour was cancelled and three follow-up emails, Bruce partially refunded me. - After posting my review, Bruce fully refunded me and stated that he had made an error. I bought a $250 gift certificate for this tour company in 2016 for my daughter and son-in-law. I was assured by Bruce that it would not expire, that the total value would be applied to any tour in the future if the prices went up. When my daughter attempted to use it in 2018, 2019, 2020, she was unable to remain in contact with Bruce (didn't return communications) to get a tour scheduled. After that, nothing. The company is apparently out of business as the website domain is up for grabs, the phone is disconnected, and no information is available anywhere. I did track down Bruce at a company called NewAgSchool, purportedly selling training on running a vineyard and have left to hear back regarding a refund or honoring the gift certificate. read more

Tour didn't happen. Booked in August for an October tour. Received a confirmation. Tour didn't show up. No response to calls or texts. We ended up doing our own driving/tours, after spending money on a hotel for the weekend. Finally received an email at the end of the day, with no valid explanation. Simply that he didn't know what happened and would refund our money. Still haven't seen the refund processed. I would never book this tour. Despite the other good reviews, it doesn't matter if they never show up and don't have the sense to cancel and refund. There was clearly never a tour - wineries had no reservations from this company. read more

What can I say that hasn't been said already? This was a fabulous experience from beginning to end, and I can't recommend Bruce enough. Our group of college alumnae in the DC area wanted to do an outing together. One of us (not me) did all the planning and coordinating with Bruce. The rest of us met him right before we hit the road. Bruce picked us up at the Curious Grape and the plan was to take us to three wineries. Throughout the day, Bruce shared his extensive wine knowledge with us. Normally, I get bored by people spouting facts at me, but Bruce was far from overbearing. He went with our flow and dotted the tour with interesting facts. First stop was Rappahannock Cellars, where Bruce arranged a tour with a cutie whose name I can't recall. Second stop was the BEST. We went to Grey Ghost Vinyards. Oh. Em. Gee. It was good. We had a personal tour and tasting with the owner. What a treat! We ate our lunch from The Curious Grape overlooking the grounds, which were lovely. The food was delicious, and I think there may have been actual crack cocaine in the cookie because it was, by far, the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. Chocolate. Caramel. Sea Salt. Enough said. The third winery was a total dud, and was supposed to be the grand finale. After Grey Ghost, I can see how it might have been hard to please us, but this place was just awful. from the wine to the attitudes. Bruce, being the amazing guy he is, offered to take us to ANOTHER winery to make up for it. We ended the trip on a high note at Naked Mountain Winery, which was delish. I booked a wine tour for 20 people for the last weekend in March 2020 and Bruce had me put down a $250 deposit. Obviously the coronavirus pandemic hit the country hard and our group of 20, who had planned to fly or drive in from locations all over the US, was unable to make our weekend trip. Our airbnb cancelled and we were refunded promptly. However I have emailed Bruce FOUR times now and have yet to receive a refund (or even a response to any emails) now in mid June... Bruce is so detail oriented - he planned a perfect day for me and my three girlfriends. He picked us up promptly at 11a from a downtown DC hotel. He knew a lot of historic facts to tell us on our drive to Leesburg. We went to three wineries that knew him and we're expecting us with personal touches because we were with him. We got a private tour on the grounds of one and a private tasting room at another. He also provided personal touches by taking pics throughout the day and having waters available. It's a bit more expensive than wine tours elsewhere but I'd use him again because of the ease and personal touches. read more

After reading all of the amazing reviews of Bruce on Yelp, I was so excited to book Wine Pro Tours for my 25th birthday. I have never Yelp'd before, but this tour was nothing like it was advertised and I hope this review helps others before they drop serious $$ on this. The reason I hired Wine Pro Tours was because Bruce advertised himself as being knowledgeable about the area, and I was so excited to have a tour guide take us around so we could not only learn but also so that I wouldn't have to corral the group all day. However, Bruce was barely with us and we were left to fend for ourselves nearly the whole day. Second, it was a group of 13 of us and Bruce had me rent a bus for 30 people. I had booked a trip for 15 people, however there was flexibility on my end. Had he informed me that the difference between a 14 person tour and 15 person tour would make the difference between a 14 person bus or a 30 person bus, that would have guided my decision-making. In our emails leading up to the event, Bruce evaded my questions about the size of the bus. In truth, not only does this make me feel that I was misguided, but perhaps also deliberately deceived. To top it off, I got an email from Bruce a couple days after the event yelling at me and my group and charging me an extra $250 cleaning fee for the bus, which he demanded I pay immediately. He also claimed we violated ABC code by carrying cups with us, which would not have been an issue had we had a tour guide as he claimed we would. What a terrible experience. read more

Wine Pro Tours is amazing. For my wife's 40th birthday, I wanted to surprise her with a wine tour with her friends, and I initially contacted a number of different vendors. Bruce, the owner of Wine Pro Tours, is the only person I found who would set up the entire day for us - he contacted the wineries, created an itinerary for the day, provided transportation, lunch, and even a birthday cake for my wife. All we had to do was wait for him to pick us up the morning of the tour. Bruce himself is very knowledgeable about wine and was happy to answer any questions about wine, the wineries, wine tasting, etc. He's also a former professional photographer and provided us with photos from the day's events. And best of all, he's just a nice guy. He was pleasant to work with and made sure we visited wineries with pleasant, competent staff. I spent an amazing day in Virginia wine country with Wine Pro Tours. The tour was very professionally orchestrated by Bruce, and I especially loved that every winery we visited was totally prepared for our group. The winery staff were very passionate and enthusiastic and made the day very enjoyable. The provided lunch was amazing - there was a nice assortment of items, and everything was delicious. I highly recommend visiting Virginia wineries with Wine Pro Tours! A few suggestions if you do: bring a sweater - while it was super hot outside that day, some of the rooms are quite chilly inside. sit in the front of the front of the van - I think you can hear better. bring business cards if you're in the trade - folks at the winery asked for them. bring something to take pictures with - one winery even took us out on a golf cart to get a close-up view of the vines. The day was long, so be prepared for that. Bruce did an excellent job of keeping everything on schedule. It was nice meeting the other tour participants. We had a great time for my friend's bachelorette! Bruce took care of everything so we all could enjoy the wineries, food, and scenery. For having a private driver to and from DC, food and tasting prices included, and all logistics and planning taken care of, it was very reasonably priced. Overall - Good laid-back time being driven to the different wineries for a Birthday celebration. The trip was very much go with the flow which is always great with big groups. Pros: Bruce was great to communicate with about the trip. He was very responsive and easy to work with over email when last minute adjustments were made to the numbers. He chose very pretty and unique places to go. Greenhill and Casanel wineries were gorgeous and he accommodated my request for a different kind of stop by going to Mt. Defiance Cider Distillery. Our day ended up being a bit rainy but I bet when its sunny Greenhill would be an amazing place to go out for a picnic. After the Cider Distillery we walked down along the shops in Middleburg and stopped at an amazing chocolate shop, Shenandoah Fine Chocolates. It started to rain at that time so we headed to the last winery. We had a very relaxed and laid back day. We opted for the catered lunch option and Bruce was great and substituted a cake for the traditional cookies at no extra charge. ** I am reviewing Casanel and Shenandoah Fine Chocolates separately. They were amazing. Cons: Bruce sent a last minute fill in who was very nice but unfamiliar with the details of the trip. Additionally he wasn't familiar with the wineries we went to so it didn't flow as well as I would of hoped. I chose Wine Pro Tours because of all the amazing reviews about Bruce and how interactive and knowledgable he was. Unfortunately his replacement wasn't very social and didn't add any additional aspects to the trip. He was a nice guy I just don't think we was really interested in being there. The drive was quiet with no tour information or heads up on what to expect. I plan on doing more tours in the future and would probably try a different one unless I could guarantee I would get Bruce. read more

Just go to the winery's on your own and save yourself the time and money! They were basically just Uber drivers to and from the winery, which I appreciate, but just expected more since the tickets were not cheap. And we had to Uber to pick up spot so I should have just Uber'd to winery on my own...No tour or anything included so not sure why the ticket was so expensive/what it went towards. Through some researching online and due to some amazing reviews on this website, I decided to contact Bruce in order to set up a wine tour for a birthday celebration. Boy, I am glad I trusted these reviews - it was an amazing experience and I would recommend him to anyone looking to set up a wine tour in Virginia. First of all, Bruce was quick to respond to my first email. He was able to confirm that the date I wanted was available, sent me a preliminary schedule of how the day would go including what wineries and the cost depending how big of a group (I had no set number of people at the time). Throughout the time prior to the event, Bruce continued to answer any questions that I came up with along the way. As my best friend, who was throwing the event for myself and her boyfriend, took over as the primary party planner, Bruce was excellent with then communicating with her as well to finalize all details. As for the event itself, it was amazing and I could have not have asked for a better birthday. To paint a picture, we had a large group of 19 people - three of them who we added last minute and Bruce had no problem with that. First off, Bruce coordinated a charter bus that accommodated our crew and picked us up from my place. What could be better than door to door service? The charter bus was as much fun to hang out on as the wineries. Each winery was unique and fitting, again, to accommodate such a large group. The second winery we had lunch where Bruce provided us delicious sandwiches from his restaurant and to top things off, a birthday cake for the birthday boy and myself! What a nice surprise! As everyone was having a good time off the wine, Bruce was excellent at keeping us on schedule, but making sure we got the most out of each winery. Along with his patience, the little extras he added to the trip (I don't want to spoil what), and his knowledge of wines and of local history, he was a phenomenal tour guide. I contacted Bruce to set up a bachelorette outing with a group of 7 friends. From the get-go, he was extremely communicative, organized, and professional. He came to pick us up in his van, which was very clean and roomy, and kept us on schedule throughout the day. He prepared a great itinerary for us, stopping at three VA wineries (Fabbioli Cellars, Casanel, and Boxwood). My favorite part of the day was the food pairing we experienced at Fabbioli--they provided a very interesting array of wines, including one meant to be paired with Mexican flavors, a raspberry wine that was lovely with chocolate, and a pear wine which featured a whole pear grown inside the bottle. The staff at each of the stops were very nice and knowledgeable, and Bruce himself was incredibly well-versed in all things wine. We peppered him with questions about Old World vs. New World wines, Rhone-style reds, etc., and he gave us some fun facts about the history of wine in VA (and elsewhere) throughout the day. Our lunch (included with the tour) was delicious, and Bruce was able to accommodate the fact that there was a vegetarian in our group as well. To top it off, Bruce also provided us with souvenir VA wine guides and glasses at the end of the day--a lovely touch and a great way for our guest of honor to remember her bachelorette weekend. Overall great experience - if you're thinking of booking a tour with Bruce, do it! He took a group of four of us out the day after a "huge for Arlington" snowstorm. We were game, he was up for it and it was a fantastic day. He picked us up(and dropped us off) at a residence in Arlington and we went to three wineries. You can tell he loves his job (why wouldn't he?) and has a great personality to match with any day-drinking crew. Lunch was delicious sandwiches from the Curious Grape, and he was flexible to let us hang out longer at the wineries we liked, and not so long at the one we weren't a huge a fan of. He shares knowledge of wine and wine history, so its not just a car service, its a full service tour. I contacted the company and received a quick response from Bruce. Bruce was awesome and made planning the whole party extremely easy. He gave us a detailed schedule of what the day would entail and even provided us with lunch. I will only be echoing what the previous reviewers have said - our winery trip was perfect. Bruce was awesome. The whole thing went very smoothly, and the overwhelming consensus from our group was that it was by far the best winery tour we had all ever experienced, for a similar price. HIGHLY recommend! I got a group of my friends together for the tour and researched the options available to us in the greater DC area, ended up picking Wine Pro Tours because of the reviews. Bruce reserved the date for us, and was very flexible when it came to how many people would attend and how we could all pay. I kept throwing questions at him in the weeks leading up to the event, he responded quickly and was very nice/informative. The day of the tour, he picked us up where I requested (a centralized location between the 12 of us), and we were off. He did a great job of outlining what to expect for the day, and organized the whole thing flawlessly. Along the way we found ourselves asking him more questions than some of the winery folks as he was so knowledgable. Also, he definitely did not beat us over the head with boring facts or stories, everything he told us was very interesting and we kept coming back to hear more. He gently kept us on schedule while still allowing us to relax at each place. He took photos throughout the day on a high quality camera, which was such a delight to have those memories! Our favorite wine was from Rappahannock, and our favorite winery experience was Gray Ghost. We received a private tour and tasting with the owner, which was so much fun. At each winery we had private tastings already lined up, and we all felt like we had the inside scoop. Also, the weather was perfect - mid to high 70s - which was icing on the cake.
