Thank God for a Winery here! We were visiting from Hawaii & didn't realize a blizzard was coming…read more We booked an experience outside & was waiting at Boreal Mountain for our reserved time, but what should have been 10 mins to the Winery, was going to take us 1 hour, because of the snowstorm! We immediately called to see if we could reschedule as we know we would be back. They said we could come another day. Yay! We decided to go back when there wasn't a blizzard. Lol. We also upgraded our experience from smores & fireplace outdoors, to a YURT! Best decision ever & it was our BEST winery experience ever! It was just perfect & magical! The yurt had 2 heaters, but we quickly turned one off. It wAs equipped with blankets & pillows! It was so cozy feeling. Our table was so nicely decorated, like out of a magazine! The experience came with a charcuterie board and 5 wine tastings. Everything was so good! Not a fan of White wine, but it's something about high elevation wineries...makes white taste yummy! Ambiance was cozy, without the cold snow! We absolutely loved everything about it & we are super happy we booked it! This is a must to visit in Truckee!

They do have bento charcuterie boxes for purchase, but we had lunch plans already and didn't get them. If you're in the area, stop by and have a slow afternoon!

I like the menu a lot, short a seasonallly driven by chef's creativity. We decided to order a 2023 Chateauneuf-du-Pape bottle which paired perfectly with duck, lamb, pork, oxtail, deer, and beets. We shared some appetizers. Their bread is so good that we asked for another loaf. The Ahi Tuna Crudo was fresh and balanced. The cold cut platter was delicious. We were full but wanted to share 2 desserts because the sweet ending menu was so attractive. Great food and wine with a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe and live music. Service was excellent and detailed attention with 2 minute checkbacjs, silverware replacement after each course, water refilling, and before desserts arrived, the table was clear out. Proper wine service by the Matre D who happened to know UCF and Orlando well. Our family had a great dining experience.

Our server, who was from Brazil, was so bubbly, friendly and made the experience more fun. She seemed to be taking care of almost the entire place and still made everyone feel seen. We ordered the lobster roll and the duck bánh mì, and both were good. My only note is that the lobster roll seemed to be mostly shrimp, so at $33 it felt a little overpriced. You are really paying for the view! One of our orders did take a while to come out, but our server was super apologetic and comped the dish, which we really appreciated. Overall, good food, warm service, and an unbeatable view.
