Small wine store that seems to be very popular in this community. You can find parking in the shared parking lot. It's right next to the Omaha steaks. When I entered I was greeted and it's clean. You can do tastings where you buy a card for a dollar and you can reload it with their various amounts to cover your wine depending on how many ones you want to taste and how much you wanna taste of the wine. Have to agree with the other reviews as Winestore is a wine store that seems to carry mostly QUALITY wines. Owner, Matt, conducted a wine tasting for our Cellar Dwellers Club in Sun City Carolina Lakes, SC. I had seen his shop in a local shopping center, but had never been there. We buy most of our wine at Trader Joe's, Aldi, Lidl and Whole Wines. Does sound like we really drink a lot of wine the way I wrote that sentence. Matt's selection started with a wonderful white wine that got surprise praise from my wife and I, along with four of the others at our table of 8 people. Amazing, as most of us do not like, favor, or necessarily choose to drink white wine, or do so because it is served. This white wine was worthy of a case buy. In I went to Winestore and, having forgotten the name of the wine (!), went to the counter describing Matt's presentation and Matt spoke up saying this particular white wine's name: Combeval Grand Cuvee from France. BINGO! At $12.99 it was a bit higher than our target price of $10 for wine, but this one was worth it. The shopper in front of me had bought a red wine, Jeff Runquist 1448, raved about it, receiving lots of nodding heads from Matt and his staff, so I bought two bottles of that red. Winestore is small, but nicely set up with lighted shelves and a pretty good selection of wines. Prices are a bit high, but I think you can count on getting unusual and quality wines. We will return. I feel compelled to update my review as the customer service level has continued to be absolutely stellar (even 7 years after my first review). I'm not sure why I think having a small wine shop with people who know their inventory intimately is such a luxury, but it really is! The folks here at Winestore Blakeney know what's on their shelves, know what to recommend when you enter with an idea, and they will always point you in several directions depending on (A) what you're hunting for; and (B) your price point! If you want a delicious champagne at champagne prices, they have that! If you want a champagne experience but you're OK with a cava or prosecco (and the lovely lower price point), they have that too!! Want to splurge on a big cabernet without the big price? They can help! I have never walked into this shop and been disappointed! In short - if you're in/near the South Charlotte area and want to spend money on wine without the big box store with tons of choices but no one to really give you a personal opinion, you NEED to do yourself a favor and step into THIS shop! read more

Excellent wines at excellent prices.... I see wines from 8.99 - 39.99 or more. They don't carry all brands, more of a boutique... but they feature lesser known wines at big discounts.... And a few months later I see them in all the stores at full prices. Stick up if you find ones you like! read more

As someone new in the area, I was looking for some nice wine bars or vendors, which made me come across to this fine specimen. This wine store reminds me of growler specialty shops in Oregon, Denver, and Texas where they allow you to sample beers to see which one you would like to purchase for yourself. It's an amazing experience and extremely fun in groups (Sunday funday classy style). There are a few reasons why i exclusively come here for wine: 1) great prices, fantastic selection, and knowledgable staff. Any great wine store needs all of these in order to be considered a premium seller. The selection is also very impressive, my favorite being the Ca Moni (extremely well priced and just delicioso) 2) SAMPLE WINES! It's not free, but oh so fun! - Step 1) acquire a store card (not a credit card) to funnel your money in. - Step 2) put money on - Step 3) sample your life away on their sample machine! The quality ranges from your lower end to very high end wine. The higher the quality, the more $ you pay for the sample, but only a dollar or two :) Overall if you love wine you need to check this out. You may never go anywhere again read more

By far the premier place in Charlotte to buy wine, best selection and best prices and service. They have a tasting carousel so you try it before you buy it! Always a great selection and if they don't have what you are looking for, ask, they can probably get it. Prices can not be beat and they are a locally based business. Before Winestore I can't tell you how many times the "big box" place suggested something that was crap. You won't have that problem here. Don't waste your time going anywhere else. read more

A wonderful store to stop in and look for great wine, chat with the owner, as well as complete a wine tasting (if you so choose). They also have some fantastic beer selection for those who like hoppy beer. Very knowledgable staff and a wide selection based on region, cost, and white v red - it's impossible to not find what you're looking for. I love trying new bottles of wine and they are always spot on with their suggestions. Prices are great too. Customer service the best even when it is super busy, which they always are. Love this place!!! Always have a great selection and the staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and make fantastic recommendations based on your preferences. I can't say enough about how well they treat their customers from making special orders or notifications when your favorites may have been discontinued. I am a disabled person and they willingly pack up my orders and take them to my vehicle! I love that I can taste new arrivals by purchasing a card to use or during wine tasting events and I get to meet friendly people each time I visit. I only shop here for my wine selection. This has got to be my favorite shop to buy wine at ever! We discovered Winestore Blakeney while bringing my computer in to Best Buy's Geek Squad and what a lovely surprise. This boutique shop offers an incredible array of wines at GREAT prices! I was shocked as I assumed a shop like this would be much pricier than the "supermarket" liquor stores, but the deals you can get on some phenomenal wines blew us away. The owner & staff are very knowledgable, warm and friendly and very helpful. I love their wine tasting machines - what fun, you just put whatever amount you want on a card there, put it in the machine and select the wine you want to taste. It can save you from making a lot of wrong choices which I've done in the past, and once you share your thoughts about the wines you've tasted and liked the most they will point you in the right direction to buy other wines as well. I am blown away! I went in looking for a specialty box - came out with 4 bottles of my favorite wine - I had no idea they carried.. We saw the store and thought we would see if we could get lucky on the box. No luck but they went out of there way to call the vendor to check to see if they could get it. Would you believe Trish called me back the same day - no seriously, she actually called me back. I've had store after store tell me they would check and call me back, never to be heard from again. To top it off, they promise to have the best price on wine - and they did on my favorite - I did see another that was a couple of bucks higher but they asked me where the lower price was and feel they would check it out and give you the lower price. I am still very appreciative that she called me to give me the news on the box and said that we could keep checking during this year to see if they could get one for me.
