The walls were so thin that we could hear the tv next door and it was on all night. We even heard loud snoring which just pushed us over the edge. In the morning we could hear people starting their showers. Before 9am, the maids were vacuuming next door and carrying on an overwhelmingly loud conversation. The breakfast was complimentary, but nothing to write home about - waffle maker, cereal, pastries and cold coffee. The hotel is definitely dated, but everything worked. The price may be cheap, but don't plan on getting too much sleep...or maybe bring ear plugs! *CCW is not permitted.

With that in mind, the staff here is amazing. From the front desk, to housekeeping I have not met an employee yet that hasn't been amazing. I've been here for two weeks and everyone is just great. If I've had issue with something (because it is an older hotel waiting for a facelift) the staff has been amazing and fixed whatever the issue was. You can have the nicest, newest hotel and if the staff is like talking to a lazy, rude paper weight who is not helpful it ruins the whole experience. No matter what changes in the hotel keep the staff. Give them a raise and tell them how amazing they are doing because without them you'd just be another chain hotel no one remembers or cares to come back too when in your area. Being away from home for so long is tough, but friendly faces whenever you leave your room I great. No one wants to talk to "Karen" who can't be bothered cuz it's not her problem. I was able to do my laundry there even in the dated machines. Success. Clothes went in dirty and came our clean. Cooked in the microwave from 1996 and it tasted just as good. Questioned if it was going to explode or give me a tumor from radioactive waves by the sound of it... but so far so good. Nice flat screen TV I was able to hook my Roku to but had to use my hotspot as the Wifi wasn't strong/fast enough. Also worked out. Large well lit parking lot for safety for you & your vehicle so you don't have to worry about getting lost in the darkness. McDonalds right across the street if your 1996 microwave can't cut it and you become really desperate. Warm breakfast each morning. Some kind of meat (sausage, bacon etc) eggs. There has been other thing also. Ice is only on the second floor but let's face it, I'm sure you could use the steps. (Like health wise... elevator works fine). Venting machine on the first floor for all your usual overpriced last minutes impulse snack needs like all hotels. I had a room with a jacuzzi tub that yes was dated and warm. Tub is warm & HUGE! I could fit me and 3 of my favorite Guns & Roses band members in it. I didn't try the jets but it rocked all the same. I needed to make a few modifications to my room for my service K9 and they were super helpf! If you value staff experience over newest and fanciest, this is for you. Tell them Jane sent you.

The shower surpassed many luxury hotels, the bed was comfortable enough and the room was spotless. Essential shower amenities, hairdryer and iron were provided. Included breakfast offered tea and coffee, a limited selection of fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, cereal and waffles. I didn't expect a big, fresh country breakfast for an overall cost under $100/night, so I wasn't disappointed. Staff was pleasant and efficient.

The management not so much I love staying here but recently…read morethey're has been so much pot smoke getting blown in my room it's given me massive headache the management does not help you with room rates I have stayed here two weeks to 3 weeks at a time and they don't help you with rates I went in and paid a deposit for another week and I was told to come back on Sunday to pay the rest the management then called me and said no we will use your deposit for 2 nights then I have to pay full price for the weekly rate again that's unacceptable considering I have been a great guest who gives no issues again the rooms aren't bad and the housekeeping staff is very friendly however I would not bring children here there is to much drug use and sketchy people. UPDATE I paid $475 for another week from August 16th to August 23rd and on August the 19th I was showering early in the morning I decided to shave and when I turned on the sink water all of a sudden the valve below broke and started shooting water everywhere the water pressure was so hard it would almost shoot all the way to the door I used my fingert plug the hole to keep it from flooding the whole place I called the front desk and he came down and then called the manager when the manager walked in the door he told me to pack my s*** and get out I said what do you mean I didn't do anything all I did was turn the water on he said no there's no way that that would break unless you touched it I said sir I did not touch it I have no reason to lie to you I have no reason to deliberately break something in here so anyways he ended up fixing it he didn't help clean the room at all he didn't even get me extra towels I cleaned the whole thing up with the towels the best that I could and they must not have mop too much because the towels were almost black from the dirt on the floor anyways the manager left I laid back down I had been awake all night and then a phone call came through on the hotel phone and he told me I had to check out by 11:00 and that he would refund me the remaining days at this point I was agitated with this guy and I just decided to leave I went out front to get the refund receipt and it was only for $133 not $339 like it was supposed to be I asked him why is this not what it should be he said cuz you broke that valve I said sir I did not break the valve he said well you're not getting anymore my mom picked me up and I was so upset because I lost $339 she went in and tried to talk to him and he was so rude to her saying he broke that on purpose I had no reason to break it on purpose he then followed us out to the car and continue to yell at us I continue to tell him sir I did not break that when I turn the water on all of a sudden it just started squirting out down there I tried to stop at the best that I could and call you right away I just want to get a refund for my $339 I tried to call corporate and they said you have to talk to the manager I can't talk to him cuz he's a problem I asked them for a number of his supervisor they said we don't know that I'm completely disgusted I've never been treated so badly and I've never had this at a motel 6 before. I also told him that every time somebody flushes the toilet or showers upstairs water comes out to smoke detector. This place has a lot of maintenance issues and is run down none of the vending machines work I put a dollar in the pop machine and it goes to dispense but there's no pop in it and then I try to get my money back or get a pop and the management gives me an issue about that I understand they want to make money but ripping off their customers it's not a good way to do it anyways if corporate sees this I just want to get my $339 back. For anyone else avoid this motel at all costs go to the Ashland and the Surrey in the Wingate the Hampton or the quality inn before you even consider this hotel

With this past weekend being our patriarch's and matriarch's golden anniversary, they rented this home because of its central location hoping the whole crew would be able to stop in at least part of the time. When we arrived, the place appeared clean and ready for us. The home was in a rustic style, sparsely decorated, but comfortable. The rooms were plenty spacious. The listing said it slept 20, but we failed to ever find the 20th bed. There was a master with a king, 3 rooms with a queen and a queen/ single bunk, and then one room with a queen only. That totals 19 beds. The listing had a shower in each bathroom, but only three were full baths. The fourth bathroom was only a toilet and sink half bath. There were also only 19 plates and not enough silverware. We had to go buy paper plates and plastic forks and wash them each meal. I mention these things so future renters will be prepared and assured it will meet their needs, not to scare anyone away. The property was very well maintained. As is typical at these types of privately managed rental homes, there were a few things in need of repair, but it was obvious that they keep on top of them. It's just like owning a home and something always needs fixed. The water pressure was good and all the appliances worked well including the air conditioning, the washer/dryer, the gas grill and the hot tub. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows could have used replaced. The furniture was all in good repair except for the kitchen counter stools that all had some rips amongst them, and then one family room chair with some separated seams. I'm guessing these things get replaced in rotation and were minor overall. The pond was clean and appropriate for swimming. There were plenty of fish that the children could be successful fishermen. The floating dock was nice and the water was deep around it. The beach area was stone and would draw the honey bees from a neighboring bee keeper. We did have an incident with a child getting stung in the foot as they would swarm every day at the shoreline and blend in with the pebbles. We became aware at one point before arriving that the owner didn't realize their contract had given us one free bundle of wood per night. When we brought it to his attention he said he'd honor it, but there was no wood there when we arrived. After waiting for 24 hours we were given directions to a store to buy our own and he'd reimburse us, which he did. We also needed to add on the internet service as a couple people needed to attend to work emails. The connection was poor and they kept getting booted off. I just used my cellular data and my reception was fine with Verizon at this location. I don't know that I'd recommend adding this service since cellular service was strong. The prices of this location were comparable to places we've stayed that have had more beds and baths and more local tourism activity. There's very little to do outside of the property. Wifi should be included as well as firewood. Some additional outdoor recreation equipment would have been a nice touch. The paddle boat was perfect. Outdoor games such as can jam or cornhole would be nice as they're large to transport... maybe some fishing poles for the pond or lounge chairs? There were several indoor recreational games like pool, air hockey, a poker table and a couple arcade games. The children as well as adults enjoyed these. The property was nicely secluded with a large useable yard off the back. Overall, the home was nice. It was spacious, clean and comfortable and very peaceful. The pricing, in my opinion, is a little high for what it had. We were charged almost $4000 for four nights once the taxes and fees were added in. As per usual with vacation home rentals, you are expected to do a pre-cleaning before you leave if you want your deposit back. We did find that the manager/owner here was easy to work with and are considering renting another of their properties in the future.
