Solid 3.5, not much along this part of Kingsway but it's the go-to for the locals who live by Highgate. Good thing going is they've been here for years, so that's somewhat assuring lol. Ordered the chicago salt & pepper, good-size wings, with right amount of crispness along the edges and seasoning too. You'd be happy to make a good choice coming here. This Wings location is always super busy and/or seems to be short staffed, so expect little to no service. However, the wings are solid bar food. A good place to come with your buddies and watch the game. A long with the wings, we ordered potato wedges which weren't very good, and a blueberry mojito which was a summer feature. I really wish I could add another star as the Wings franchise is one of my favourites in the lower mainland, but there are just some things this location has to fix before that can happen. Let's start with something positive, this location is a bar & lounge/patio style Wings. So.... For those of you out there who just wanna chill out with your friends, enjoy a few beer and wings without the loud scream of a child that isn't yours then this place is for you. Of course as well they still have all the same specials as the other Wings like cheap wings on Wednesdays and Sundays with purchase of a drink. Now down to the bad(just from my experience). I understand its busy at times but dining out is all about not having to worry and being waited on. It seems like after you finally track down your waitress to make take your order its impossible to get any more order/drinks until your food arrives, and then the same until your bill. If there's one bit of feed back I could give this would be it, check up on your table once in awhile. Simple as that. I still enjoy the atmosphere and come often as my friends live in the area, who knows maybe I'll experience nothing but good things on my next visit and be able to update my rating. I'm not one for writing a review on Yelp but I thought our experience at this restaurant needed one. Our group of 6 arrived at 7:30pm on Wednesday for their discounted wings. Knowing it was going to be super busy, we expected to be waiting quite a long time to get in (considering we had 6 of us). We put our name down the moment we arrived and tried waiting in the lobby area which was super packed. Naturally we got out of the way for customers coming in and out and happened to be waiting within the restaurant area. We were then told by the hostess to wait in the lobby or just outside the front doors. Since there was no room in the lobby area, we went outside the front door. We had heard the hostess come outside and call customers names on the list when we first arrived so we knew it was ok to be out there and we wouldn't lose our spot on the list. About 45 minutes later we notice other larger groups after us getting tables so we inquired and the hostess said that they called our name but we weren't there. Obviously frustrated because we were waiting outside and no one came out to tell us our table was ready (once again because the lobby of full of people), we asked to be put back on the list and wait once again. At around 8:30pm we noticed again that another large group after us (who put their name down even after we were put on the list) got a table. We were very angry at this point and asked the hostess where we were on the waiting list and she said we were next. We looked and saw three large tables that were not cleaned yet and sat there dirty for the next 20 minutes until finally it was cleaned and we sat down..... only a 1 hour and 20 minutes after we got there to eat. Ok... I understand that it is super busy and it is wing Wednesday but seriously..... an hour and 20 minutes? And to be missed twice on the list? We didn't bring it up to our waitress because she looked swamped from the amount of customers and it wasn't her fault. Anyways, seems weird that you would get told to wait outside and no one would come out to call your name once the table is ready. read more

For a stat holiday (New Years) I was surprised how much people were craving a drink or wings just as much as I was. Seemed just par to slightly understaffed but I would totally understand the hustle from the servers so I cant complain about it. Especially Katie at the bar. She poured me a beer that was just tapped from another keg. In addition, she mentioned that the beer didnt seem as good quality beforehand and asked she would offer a different one instead if I didnt like it. Sure enough it seemed Flat. This was the worst dinning experience I had...well we didn't even get to eat. We were a group of 10, I was the only one that didn't have a physical ID but I had a picture of my passport and my BCID. I also had a physical credit card. My friend had gone ahead to explain the situation with my ID and one of the employees had said that it was okay for us to get in. We waited in line for an hour and a half. Only to finally get to the front of the line and they said we can't go in. I was furious! Another customer had come in and asked what the wait time is and an employee said "if these girls would leave it would be 5 minutes" in a very rude tone. I understand that they couldn't let us in based on regulations but if they had let us know right when we got there that would've been much better than wasting almost 2 hours. I just don't get it. I just don't. The wings are decent - but nothing amazing. $0.39 wings all day on Sunday - okay, I know poultry is getting expensive but it's not exactly 'cheap' in my book. I think it's a fair price - but my jag-off buddy likes the idea of ordering a 100 wings at a time for $39. Seriously - be smart and don't order so much at a time unless you like cold wings and want to look like a douchebag. I really couldn't tell the difference between one flavour and the next (they claim over 20 flavours - to me, it was just 'dry' and 'wet') - but the wings are a decent size and they had Sapporo on draft for $4.xx a sleeve. Anyways - should be a solid C-grade/3-stars... satisfactory performance much like the Coquitlam location - go ahead Wings... join the other 68% of middlers out there. But here's a few things: - service really sucked - not sure if the server simply didn't like us or she was just being lazy. Regardless, we were on the patio and she was never to around when you needed her. Bleh... and that brings me to my next point... - quite simply the worst patio I've been to all summer. The patio faces out on Kingsway - so I guess to seal out road noise - they built a fully enclosed patio with windows. With airflow d and sun shining down - I felt like I was in a greenhouse. It was uncomfortably 'swelty' - and the patio is now non-smoking. It was my last refuge in Burnaby - now I just feel like I was trapped in a glasscase of emotion. And I finally pulled the trigger on the Bobby Wings - which is their top-tier uber hot wing with accompanying waiver. I've heard (reliable) stories of people instantly turning ghost white and near passing out from unimaginable pain, vomiting, headaches, etc. Unsure if it's an excess of testicular fortitude or foolish bravado - but I had to try it. One of my tablemates ate one before me and we watched him turn from a man to a pained, teary-eyed, sweating shell of a boy. Anyways - definitely not a wing anyone would eat normally - just if you have something to prove. I 'POWed' up and got deeper than a Navy SEAL. I ate it like a normal wing (didn't cheap out on it by quickly 'stripping' the wing) - and I didn't see the big deal...chewing and processing what I was eating, I let out, "Hmm - this is going to be tad uncomfortable..." My mouth went numb for a bit... then my my tongue turned into a caustic molten lava bed - it's an extremely intense and lingering burn in your mouth. I didn't reach for the milk... like Usher, I decided to let it burn. But yup - it pretty much disables your ability to talk for a few minutes as you try to keep a poker face and while you're screaming in your head: [in Gollum's voice] "IT BUUUURRRRNNNZZZZ!!!" But yup - you'll be in pain for about 10 minutes as you swirl some extra swigs of beer in your mouth. But it passes - definitely painful but not as bad as everyone said it was. Get one if you're as dense as I am. ... and yes... if you must know, you do feel it when the Bobby Wing 'clearing' your system - like a bullet, most of the visceral damage is from the exit wound... Communication Catastrophe Wednesday, April 13, 5:00pm. I truly wish I could talk about the food, but sadly, our party never even got to try it. Wings on Kingsway gladly accepted the reservation for our group of 11, two weeks ahead of my friend's 30th birthday.. Invites were sent out, carpools were organized, all was in order for what we hoped would be a food-filled evening of merriment. But hopes are often dashed, and ours was no exception. As it turned out, the staff at Wings chose to disregard the reservation - despite us having made it well in advance - and instead book the entire restaurant for a private function. The icing on the cake? We weren't even notified until we arrived on location and saw the "Private Function - Closed to the General Public" sign hanging starkly on the door, our party wide-eyed and slack-jawed in disbelief. Rather than take responsibility for their clear blunder, the staff offered an "apology" that sounded more like an accusation. "Sorry, we can't take your party... We tried calling you THREE TIMES today." This line was repeated to me by several staff members, including the manager, almost as if it were a mantra that, if repeated enough times, would shift the blame on us. The accusatory tone was infuriating enough, but I take issue with the line for a number of other reasons: (1) Why call to notify us on the day of the reservation? The attempt should have been made ahead of time, like, oh I don't know, when they decided to create the scheduling conflict in the first place, perhaps? (2) If - for whatever reason (even though there are none I can think of) - calling on the actual day was the only option, why not leave a voicemail? The phone number I gave the restaurant has a voicemail which I check regularly, and that simple gesture would have given our group at least a few hours to make alternate plans. Alas, I understand my objections are moot now, and what's done is done. Defeated, tails between our legs, we slipped off into the night, with nothing to show for our efforts except our growling empty stomachs... For anyone still reading, this story DOES have a happy ending: food-filled merriment was indeed had, albeit in a different location than what we had previously envisioned. Wings know their wings, no doubt about it and is a welcome step-up from Pub Med. Shout out to Angelle: 10 stars on her excellent customer service, recommendations and awesome personality. Apparently she is in training to be a manager at the Coquitlam location, Burnaby's loss and Coquitlam's gain. Now on to the establishment...point me in the direction of the fun, food and drinks! Great menu with 20 different flavours of wings. I highly recommend Tora, Tora, Tora Toyko & Yukon Jack just to name drop a couple. Don't forget the Wowy sauce makes just about anything taste better. Yam fries are a huge score especially with the red pepper aoili dip and don't miss the Porklet Duo with Maui Lime Dip and Brew House potato Skins. Go Canada Go!! Great venue for sporting events, vastly improved from the old Pub Med. Waitresses are friendly and on the ball, cow bells and hockey trivia and free rounds of Canada shots make this a fun time all around during the Olympics. Wings are good, they really do make you sign a waiver for their "Bobby" wings. Higher quality than usual pub food, juicy burgers and seasoned fries. This is the replacement for Pub Med. I've never been to the previous venue. Previous setup from my understanding was a pub/bar with a dance floor that opens up at nighttime. The new setup is a full on sports bar / restaurant with no bar to speak of. They still have an off-sales area. NOW WHY 5 STARS??? - Yes, they sell wings and pub food. But, variety alone on the flavors (something like 15?) and like 6 different dipping sauces... that's 90 different combinations of flavors. - The food came out fast, even with a completely full restaurant - Value... some of the "pounds" that came out were definitely larger than a pound. - Reasonable drink prices - Awesome server who we all agreed on was some of the best service we've received in a while. I come here to chill, without having to be worried about parties of families or kids running around. A decent place to have a beer and relax. They specialize in wings, but also have lots of other food options. The wings here... aren't good. Sure they may have lots of variety, but the flavors aren't "awesome". It also kind of bugs me that their quality isn't consistent. I'm pretty sure they use whole wings and separate them, hence my 1lb of wings with tiny wings and probably not even a pound since another order had the same amount of wings but where bigger. The wings are doused in sauce of your choice... but when it makes it to the table it's cold and soggy. Ugh. This has happened 3/4 times I've come here. Their nachos are good though, sometimes soggy, but lots of ingredients, so it's ok i guess? Service is meh. They aren't very attentive... usually too busy not doing their jobs. I'd rather go downtown or even coquitlam for better wings and service. Where servers can put on a smile. I gotta hand it to the new management of this place. It used to be Pub Med (dread). it use to suck, it was a ghost town most days of the week, including Fridays. Now, you have to go early to get a seat because they don't take reservations. Why? Good solid bar food, great specials and friendly staff. Great place! Fun vibe, good music, comfy booths and efficient service. Also pretty much every seat in the house has a good view of a tv. The food was very nice as well. For a starter the boyfriend and I ordered the Tora, Tora, Tora, Tokyo wings which were delicious. Then we each had the Surf & Turf Thursday special. The fries were exactly as I like them, the vegetables were tasty, and the steak was decent. The prawns could have used a bit more garlic, but I love prawns so that was okay. Service was quick, but a couple of times I felt like I had to speak over the server to give my order, as she tended to walk away while still speaking. A little strange? They also forgot the Surf part of our Surf & Turf, but they were quick to bring out the missing prawns. Strangely, they brought out two orders' worth on one plate so that we could share them, but there were an odd number. Did they short us or give us an extra? I went in with a girlfriend tonight and ordered some food to share. I don't have complaints over the food, but major complaint of our server. My beer went empty and there was no offer on a second one, fine. Our first check in from the server to see how we're doing was when we were 3/4 done with our wings and pasta. When we were completely done, another 15 minutes went by, we had to flag her down to order the cookie dessert. She said it will take 13 minutes, and we were willing to wait. After about half an hour, I waved her down again and asked about our cookie. She went to the back to check in on it and told me the chef had burnt it and will be another 10 minutes and it will be on the house, or if we just want to take it off the bill. If the chef had burnt the cookie, I blame the server for not checking in on it and order a second one for us right away. She constantly said new chef, kitchen is a messing up, not taking any ownership over the fact that she did not check in on our order; or perhaps put in the order at all! The restaurant was not busy. Came to Wings last night thinking we would get our craving satisfied for a good plate of wings...we were wrong! Ordered 2 different flavours, they came to the table and were the skinniest wings I have ever seen. No sauce and cooked until they were dry and shriveled up. It was not enough food so we ordered the Texas fries. I forgot to tell them to hold the hair. The biggest blackest hair was baked inside them. My wife ordered a Virgin lemonade and it came when the food was almost done. They did take the fries back and knocked 20% off of the fries only. After an eventful day of hiking and canoeing, we decided on WINGS. This was my first time dining at this franchise. There were 8 of us; seated quickly out on the patio (went at 6pm). Sunday special Wings - min 10 pieces - several selections. We all ordered wings - most of us ordered 2pds. I ordered Honey Garlic, they were ok - luke warm. A few of us ordered few rounds of beer. Overall, it's a great place to hang out and have drinks. 3 stars because the waitress did NOT tell us that service charge was already added, so several of us added a tip. Even though it should be known that more than 6 to 8 people tip is added, she should have given us a reminder when she gave us the machine. We were pissed because we didn't realize until we left the restaurant. Because of that, we won't be coming back to this location. read more

A great place for a small gathering with friends, the place tends to get loud at night so don't worry about large groups either as you would all blend in with the atmosphere. My guy friends like to come here a lot, we usually go to either Oscars or Flying Beaver as well, but Wings is kinda in the middle for everyone so we come here a bit more often. Oscars is not my cup of tea, and Flying Beaver is always packed anyway. Service can be non-existent at some point as this place gets quite busy and they are usually short-staffed. Try to get as much stuff as you need once you got a server in front of you. Food is always good, I always go for the wings, it is their signature dish! Honey garlic is my personal favorite, salt and pepper is average as welll as the bbq and buffalo. Tried the legendary bobby wing, painful experience but interesting nonetheless! Had a craving for something spicy and a friend suggested this place. I wanted to try the hottest wings they had (Bobby Wings). We all had to sign a waiver before ordering them so we did. To start off, we ordered something a bit less hot to work our way up. Those were really good. Drinks were a bit slow but the place was packed. One of my friends ordered a steak and he said it was very good. The Bobby wings were extremely hot but nothing I couldn't handle. When we did get seated she hardly came back to our table and didn't say anything after she forgot our drinks for 20 minutes or so when I asked for them again and didn't ask if we wanted anymore bellinis after that. She never asked if our food was okay either. As a server I know it can be hard to always check on your tables when it's busy but it was dead in there. We had to get pop that they changed us $3.50. So what kind of a deal is that??? A pound of wings $5.90 plus $3.50 pop worked out to $9.40 - THAT IS A REGULAR PRICE!!!! QUALITY: Wings were terrible...Very very average!!! We ordered 5 different kinds and we only could tell the difference between buffalo and others. They were all dry, despite the menu stating that some were supposed to be saucy. I would give them 2/10. STAFF: Being not happy with food and service, we left no tip. When I paid, and our waitress saw that we left no tip her attitude changed in a split second. She gave us that look that people give to criminals for stealing. So unprofessional!!! Tips are my prerogative, and since my experience was very negative there was NO WAY I was leaving any tips! CONCLUSION: Go somewhere else. Since Wings has opened the food and especially their wings has been pretty good. That being said the owner doesn't seem to really care about much else. Over the years my friends and I have asked when they might get some local craft beer and finally they got one, Granville Island West Coast IPA, not really a craft beer. He sticks with the cheap Bud contract. Then there is the washrooms. Now I can't say anything about the men's but the ladies is horrible. There are only 3 stalls and every time you go there at least 1 or 2 are overflowing, broken or just disgusting. The 2 regular stall doors are so close to the toilets you can hardly get out of the stall. I don't know how they passed code. Now with COVID-19 going on they have 2 soap dispensers and yesterday when we were there 1 was broken. They also have no minimum allowance signage for the tight fitting washroom which most restaurants do now. The entry is a single door entrance and they are allowing people to exit that way which means sometimes squeezing by people waiting to be seated, they could or should be using their patio exit as the patrons exit as well during COVID-19. Then there is the smoking that is allowed just outside their door and or patio, that even after pointing it out to the owner he did nothing. Service is hit and miss, but there are a couple of servers that are really good, especially Sabrina. read more

Mediocre at best. The Lower Mainland is renowned for craft beer culture, and it is hard to find a place that doesn't offer a selection of locally made craft beer. Wings has bucked that trend. Our server said they do have craft beer, Okanagan Spring. Not! Last I heard they are Japanese owned. Also a very weak BC wine selection as well. My wife ordered a curly pasta with spinach and green onions with grilled chicken. Essentially kraft dinner with anemic baked chicken and virtually no spinach. I had the crispy chicken burger.
