Absolutely terrible treatment as someone who's been with Wings for two years now. My account was randomly closed, no reason was given to me via phone and my questions couldn't be answered, I was told i would be transferred to another department but then i was met with the same attitude of "I don't know go in and ask lol" energy. The woman i called seemed like she was bored, and did not care. She lacked empathy as this was closed when I had financial obligations and a whole paycheck coming from my job that I work my butt off at. This unpleasant and pretentious Wings' Staff Member said they sent me a letter "warning me" on May 12th (it's June 3rd) that my account would be closed "due to a negative balance" if i didn't take the two weeks to make a deposit. I have gotten paid within that time period multiple times from when that "warning" was made - and my account was never negative, and i never received said letter. I have dealt with them randomly issuing Overdraft Fees on my account when they aren't negative and they have blamed it on their AI Systems and refused to refund me. I've only gotten one singular refund. It's crazy, maybe you should maybe NOT rely on AI when it's our money? Just a thought. Stop cutting corners. Anyhow, she said i would need to go to someone to "figure it out" and I eventually hung up because I was disgusted by her lack of knowledge and overall disgusting attitude. Hopefully you guys hire staff members that actually like doing their jobs because there's a ton of people who would gladly take her job and do it better. read more

Worst bank you can choose. You can make 10 transactions in one day, and then they will block your card and tell you that you have to wait 24 hours before you can use it again. I had some small transactions for $5, $30, etc. When I got to Target to buy groceries, my transaction was denied. I called them, and they said, "You had too many transactions today. Sorry, you have to wait 24 hours to use your card again." They said I had 20 transactions, which wasn't true. I had about 10 small transactions--paying some bills and buying lunch. Save yourself the time and frustration. Don't open an account with them. read more

What even is a credit union? It's a bank for regular humans, right? Non-profit, like? I'm just speculating here, but at some point about fifteen years ago I switched all my regular banking from one of the big ones to Wings Credit Union. The branch hours and locations are noticably a lot less than a big chain, and there are problems with their website more often than I'd like to tolerate. But you also feel a much smaller degree of corporateness. I met with a financial advisor at this branch once many years ago, and that led to setting up my Roth IRA. I also got a debt-consolidation loan once and a car loan once, and both had about the best interest rates I could find. I used to have a high-yield savings account here, but I have found better returns elsewhere. (I should note that in November 2025 they were advertising a newer type of HYSA that seemed competitive.) I really get the impression that they are trying to help their members. There are Wings-specific ATMs in Costcos around here, but also the network of no-fee ATMs you have access to is pretty large. I'm definitely not inclined to switch banks in the foreseeable future, but it's worth noting that when I do want to visit a branch in person, I have to plan around my schedule to accommodate their hours. read more

Wings makes so many mistakes with my account . I have had my account randomly closed twice. The staff can't answer for or correct the mistake without issuing a new card . No 24 hour help, so when they make a mistake with your account on Friday your money is inaccessible until Monday . So not cool read more

I was with City County Credit Union before they merged. I have been a happy customer for 45 years! I went to deposit a check and open a 12 month CD special. After a short wait Viviana called me into her office. As well as efficiently opening the CD she noted that I had several CD's with no beneficiary. She took the extra time to get a beneficiary for each. Viviana went above and beyond to do the right thing! read more

I was a member since 1986, when it was still NWAFCU -- 39 years ago! For many years I loved the CU. I used to brag about the CU to people who used banks. They used to have some of the best rates, nice benefits for members and good customer service. Even though I haven't lived anywhere near a branch since 1989 I considered the minor inconcvenience to be worth it. But when the name changed to Wings everything went downhill fast. Recently, I tried to get my wife's name added to my account and no one could handle it. I tried 3 times, filled out the form 3 times, and got no response from anyone. If you are needing just basic banking needs, they are fine. I grew up always using a credit union, and I'd come to appreciate their service and helpfulness. So when I moved to the area about 7 years ago, I was looking for a local credit union. The service and helpfulness of credit unions has not followed me to Wings. I've only needed customer service twice from them, and both times in the last year or so. Both experiences have been subpar. The first experience was over the phone. The customer service rep was unhelpful and condescending. He would refer to things using banking jargon, phrases, and abbreviations and then couldn't explain well what he was saying to a customer like me who is not in the banking industry. He actually said the phrase to me, "You're looking to put $xx in a CD? I mean, it's not $100,000, but I guess it's alright." I guess I'm sorry I wasn't rich enough for his approval? The second time I needed customer service was in the Blaine branch. I was seeking a small exception to a policy involving a grace period to which I'd missed by 4 days. They were certainly in the right to refuse and just following their policies. However, through this, the manager showed that Wings is inflexible, rigidly sticking to their policies, and he was sure to let me know all of the ways I should have known better and not needed such an exception. He seemed to happily be doing his job in scolding me. So, yeah, if you need just basic banking needs, they're fine. If you're likely going to be needing customer service with any frequency, I'd probably look elsewhere. I'll be keeping my eyes open and considering different options for my banking needs. While at this point, I'm probably not quite taking my business elsewhere, it's probably not going to take much more to make me jump ship. read more

POSITIVE EXPERIENCE: The entire process only took 7 days (including holiday and weekend). I applied on Tues 11/22 heading into the Thanksgiving holiday and still the entire process was completed quickly w/ a check in the mail to me on 11/29! My loan officer was assigned the same day I applied...there were a couple emails with doc's to be signed and a brief phone conversation. Check arrived 11/30 and today (12/1), I went to the dealership and completed the purchase. FYI - I would recommend simply being prepared and have an idea of your credit score. Prepare documents ahead of time - proof of ID (drivers lic etc), vehicle information, income, car insurance carrier etc will most likely be requested. You might want to scan and have ready to email / upload upon request. Being prepared avoids unnecessary phone tag and delays. I provided a pay-off letter from my existing lender good for 3 weeks and showing auto info. My personal experience with Wings Financial Credit Union was all positive. read more

Wings is a great credit union and has super friendly staff. Pretty much like any other bank but without the crazy fees. Best part? Besides the shiny happy people is that their website and phone app are super easy to navigate. The phone app especially has been really well thought out. 5 stars on that alone. However I wish they had arrangements with other credit unions where you wouldn't get the ATM ding so that's a 1/2 star loss. The other 1/2 star loss is their placement of the drive up ATM near the other drive-up teller, which if someone is using, blocks the ATM. Minor annoyance but it has happened more then once. read more

I tried to deposit checks into my Highgrove account (under my dependent daughters category in my account today10/12/23 ) by a man calling himself Juan. I am able to digitally transfer $ from my account into my daughters but this teller stated that I could not deposit money into her category within my account. It took about 4 times of discussing this before he would actually put the deposit into the account. He was rude and made sounds and references to "Lady, I am trying to do my job" as he was being obstructive. Does Wings not allow deposits into a person's account? I had my Id and Wings card out for him the entire time he was denying that transaction (He stated that he would need to go ask someone if I could deposit $ into my account). I stated that this transaction has happened easily and without difficulty on many occasions previously with tellers. His response was, "I have to go by the notes in your account" which makes no sense as I have a high credit rating, no problems and again, have done this previously. I would like a response from Wings about whether this is something that Wings denies, as I am sure other customers want to know if you have "unusual rules". This Juan's demeanor, tone, and words were authoritative with "I am right" attitude. Wings sanctions a simple transaction as being up to the teller to determine as opposed to standard professional banking interactions? Why bank someplace where tellers are so difficult, easily rude to customers and make up their own rules based on their lack of competence? read more

I've been banking with Wings for almost 2 decades. The services have steadily deteriorated over the years. They've been replacing all of their humans with bots and AI. The human tellers are disappearing too. I honestly believe that are making things more difficult for their customers so they can extract expensive fees from everyone. Their hold times are longer because of their use of AI. The member service reps that are actually human are instructed to hang up on you at the slightest hint of frustration. Nobody makes my inner Karen come out more than Wings Credit union. I used to be able to make my truck payment online and they removed my ability to do so. Instead they charge a $15.00 to pay it on the phone.How is this good for members exactly? How am I supposed to be impressed by this greedy bank? I would never recommend them to anyone. They also used to have points/rewards for debit card holders and they took those away. Now no matter how much cash you spend with this bank, you earn nothing back. They steadily increase fees while dialing back rewards. I will never get a credit card with this bank. Once my truck payment is gone, I will be leaving and finding a better bank. Members never asked for robots or Skye. Even their ODPP is bad. They charged me an overdraft fee yesterday despite have money in my wings savings to cover the charge. They blamed me for not having the account correctly linked to my savings but it was the only account I signed up for ODPP. They are just terrible financial organization with horrible business practices. Wish I could close my account now. read more

I have been a wings member for at least 10 years, have mostly been satisfied with their service until this past year. Wings branches have implemented many new changes with automated tellers and eliminating personnel. The problem is every time I need some help to get into my safe deposit or need to speak to a banker. It takes forever, you now have to ask a teller to put you on a list, I have waited up to 30 minutes to get into my box, especially at the West 7th street location. I think it's unacceptable, I have complained to the personnel there, but it never seems to get resolved. I think I need to start looking for another credit union that has better customer service. There is never anyone at the front desk at the west 7th St. Branch, they keep telling me they are working on hiring more people, but it never happens. I have a business account and personal account there, and my mortgage there , I'm busy and cant wait for long periods of time. It seems like wings is turning into a commercial Big bank with all the fees and charges I never experienced before when it acted like a CREDIT UNION. Wings is okay but not great. They don't have very good checking accounts when compared to US Federal or other online CU as they don't pay good rates on checking. So, I keep my checking at USFED. Also, the service varies greatly between branches. Apple Valley has always had the most knowledgeable bankers. Where in Eagan I have been giving incorrect information and had problems transferring IRA accounts. read more
