They continued to serve the idiots who swarmed the counters instead of the clear line that had formed a solid 10 minutes before they all swarmed. The two workers have no awareness what so ever. If you are a rude braying cow this is a troth that will feed you first. If you are a civilized person who follows the clearly marked line starts here sign, you may just go unnoticed. I left after minute 20, unserved, and they still had not even helped the woman and child who were in the line when I first walked up. I will never be back.

I stood there for a moment doing the classic "deer in headlights" routine, wondering if we needed a compass, trail mix, and maybe a guide rope just to survive the journey. Fortunately, my wife quickly snapped me back to reality. Apparently, this wasn't her first rodeo. She had a system--a well-thought-out shopping strategy that rivaled a military operation. Once she gave me my marching orders and we followed her usual route through the store, everything started to fall into place. Suddenly the overwhelming warehouse transformed into an organized treasure hunt. And what a treasure hunt it is. The selection is incredible. One minute you're looking at everyday groceries, and the next you're discovering sodas you've never seen in your life--flavors that sound like they were invented during a late-night science experiment. Then, just when you think you've seen it all, you realize there's an indoor pizza place casually sitting there like it's the most normal thing in the world. Shopping break? Don't mind if I do. The variety here honestly beats any shopping experience I've had in the last decade. Whether it's food, household items, gadgets, or those random "how did we live without this?" finds, Costco seems to have it all--and usually in sizes large enough to survive the next ice age. By the end of the trip, I went from overwhelmed rookie to proud cart-pushing assistant under my wife's expert leadership. We found a few products not available in our Costco in the midwest (and still not there), and picked them up to take home, which is pretty typical everytime we go out of state. We found the location to be a little surprising, what with it being directly across from the Daytona Speedway, but that then gave us a famous landmark to look at, so.... Anyway, it's Costco. Imagine that one tiny section on isle 3 at Publix but exploded into an emporium of various beans, rice, tortillas, and sazon. Their deli is unlike Publix as well. They have a large hot case with all the Cuban dishes including pork, ropa vieja, oxtail, tostones, maduros, empanadas, beans, and 3 different kinds of rice. Their sandwiches are served on half of a Cuban loaf. I once ordered a pork sandwich and although it wasn't the best I've had it was definitely the biggest (I should've eaten half and saved the rest for later). They also bake all of their bread and pastries in addition to serving up a fantastic cafe con leche.
