The Sparks/Queen location is also an "Urban Concept" store, but has some higher end pieces which sets it apart from other locations. This location does not have a kid's section, but other than that, it has everything else that larger regular Winners have, just selection is less. Don't get me wrong, I still like the store and I'm happy shopping at any Winners. I just like the larger stores with abundant free parking better, lol. Since this one is in The Glebe, it's street parking only (or you can pay for parking in the privately owned paid parking lots).

This store tries to give you a downtown feel, like you get when you are in London (Great Britain). Stores tend to be at least a couple of floors. This Winners is really all up on the second floor. The first floor basically has an escalator and the main doors. Although the top floor is huge, it felt crammed with merchandise. I was here to browse and didn't see anything that I truly wanted to buy. The washrooms are in the far right corner when you reach the top of the escalator and you turn to look at all the merchandise. The women's washroom was clean. This store is great if you happen to be in the area. I can see parking being an issue if you want to haul a sofa and don't know where to temporarily park your truck to load it. She asked a few questions that helped jog my memory -- I realized my daughter had taken the receipt home and was able to get a screenshot from her. Throughout the whole process, Rasheeda was so pleasant and even shared a few laughs with me. The entire ordeal only took a few minutes, but it left a lasting, positive impression.

Selection is similar to other Winners, but I tend to have more luck at this location than others. They seem to have lots of small sizes. Their jewelery counter is also good with lots of unique pieces. Since it's in the suburbs, it doesn't feel cramped like those "urban concept" stores (e.g. Queen/Sparks location and Lansdowne Park location). There's lots of free parking in the plaza. It's in the same plaza as a Shoppers Drug Mart, Metro, Mark's, The Butchery, and Kardish. If you're hungry there's also a Quiznos (one of the few left in the city), a Shawarma place, The Butchery/Vera's Burger Shack, and a Starbucks. Or if you're feeling for a sit down restaurant, there's Lapointes too.

I decided to get it, for it was a unicorn, and I see it being practical to wear around your waist or a sling bag. It's also different. I spent some time in the shoe section. I got a pair of Converse sneakers. The price was right and I do not have a pair of black ones. It was a pleasant surprise to find a good selection of calligraphy pens. I went with the old-school pen with interchangeable nibs that you need to dip into ink. I have the urge to get back into calligraphy. I now need to get some ink. The man at the checkout area was great. He scanned my TJX Style card, rang up my total, helped me get the transaction processed, and bagged my items. He was competent and polite. There was plenty of parking in front of the store at around 7 pm. I like the selection of items at this Winners. (217)

You're welcome, economy! The footwear section was great. It had a decent selection of size 11 shoes. I ended up getting a pair of Crocs sliders that felt so good putting on. There were a number of Grogu items. I ended up getting another PopSocket. The price and design were right. If you like water bottles and on-the-go drinkware, this store has an extensive selection. I also picked up a pig Squishmallows plushie. The Squishmallows here were cool. You can also get backpacks. The facial products and nail polish sections were wonderful. I ended up getting toner and a Mickey Mouse nail set. I found a copper tongue scraper. It reminded me of the one that my dad used to have. On my travel day back to Markham, I grabbed one for my dad, which he loves using. Less gagging. Better breath! Staff here are so nice. Bring your own bag. Get your TJX rewards card scanned. It's all good. I miss this store. There are certain Winners that I enjoy frequenting because the selection of merchandise is fantastic and suits my needs. This one is one of them. (282)

Floor plans are constantly being switched around in attempt to revive and brighten up the space. Regardless of the amount of people in line, the checkout is slow and tedious. If you suffer from hot flashes, waiting in this line to checkout may trigger one. Parking is always a mess here, especially during the weekend & trying to cross from the parking area to the sidewalk is usually a challenge due to the heavy traffic and cars not stopping to let you cross. I now park around the corner at Staples, so much easier! I'll always be a fan of Winners as I love the thrill of the hunt for brand name items, but there are far better Winners out there. This location is just A-OK!

This is a Winners (which for my American friends is like a TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less, etc.) that is attached to a Homesense (like the houseware version of Winners). This location doesn't carry a lot of cool brands and there is no "Runway Section." That being said, I have found a few pieces here, but mostly just athletic wear. Unless it's a return from another location, you likely won't find any fashion-forward items here. I love Winners in general, and I still go hoping to score that awesome find one day, lol. The space is big and it looks like other suburban Winners (as opposed to the "urban concept" Winners or the quirkiest Winners I've been to which is the one on Front St in Toronto which is in the space of several converted row homes). This is in a strip mall, so naturally lots of free parking.

The Winners is collocated with the HomeSense next door, and they share a checkout line. So sometimes the checkout line is crazy long. I guess the next closest one would be the one on St. Laurent. If you're selecting between this location and St. Laurent, I recommend picking this one.

The Long Version: So this Winners opened up quietly in the Ottawa Trainyards around March of 2024. I love Winners and shop TJX brand stores a lot, but I didn't even know that this store opened until August 2024 when I drove by it. I had to do a double take. Was it a mirage? Lol. No, it was real. I'm actually thrilled that Trainyards now has both a Marshalls and a Winners. This Winners is similar to other Winners. The layout is a bit more open as most of the structures are mobile. This location has a slightly larger selection of contemporary and luxury brands. I spotted 2 Gucci wallets. A small one for $599.99 and a larger one for $999.99. They also had some Moschino purses. They had some awesome deals on jeans. I saw a pair of True Religion jeans for $12 and a pair of Joe's jeans for $18. Considering these retail for $100+ the clearance prices were awesome. I really hemmed and hawed on these. But ultimately put them back on the rack because I have way too many jeans, lol. This location has a small jewelery section. They have the usual women's, men's and children's clothing and shoes, as well as housewares, food, and cosmetics. I love rummaging through junk to find gems. I love that they have new stuff every week, unlike most stores that only have new inventory every season. I also love getting brand name items at discount prices. That all being said, this Winners location is one of the better ones in Ottawa. It's not big, but it has a good mix of stuff. They don't have a lot of higher end stuff here though. I don't think they even have a "Contemporary Designers" section, or if they do, it is very small. No luxury brands like Gucci, Valentino, Veneta Bottega, etc. In Ottawa, I don't think Winners carries luxury brands. I've only seen them at the Marshalls in Trainyards (same parent company). Anyway to give you an idea of the deals, I got a pair of Tsubo pumps here once for $26, and a pair of lambskin Cole Haan espadrilles for $36 - both on clearance of course. Although full disclosure: my feet are not a popular size (5). It's in a strip mall in Bells Corners - same mall as Shopper's Drug Mart, Metro and Mark's. Lots of free parking.

They have clothes by Jennifer Glasgow and Miik. They have soaps and body care by Purple Urchin. They also have jewelery by local designers and weird knick knacks like hand puppets of Canadian prime ministers, lol. So funky and weird! This store is more neat, clean and upscale-ish, a la "Yorkville" (Toronto reference) and not like Adorit in the Byward Market (that also carries local and Canadian designs, and some of the same brands, like Miik) which is more, a la "Kensington Market" (sorry, another Toronto reference), but meaning more bohemian and smelling of patchouli. Prices are high, but your getting good quality and supporting the Canadian market.

The great thing about Flock Boutique is that the clothes are made by Canadian designers, the majority of which are women! They try to bring in lots of fashions from Ottawa and Montreal also, to be local. The accessories here are amazing! They have lots of colourful pins and earrings and some great bags! I really had to control myself, or I would have had an empty wallet when I came out. I did see several dress options, but was tight on time, so I couldn't try anything on. One of the girls working in the store patiently showed me several dresses and answered all my questions about the designers and the store. The people who work here clearly know what they are talking about. It is also great that so many of the designs are by Canadian women! For someone who wants to dress artistically, this is the perfect spot to shop.
