My friend did not grab anyone Went with two different friends and both had same terrible experience. And I did not say a single bad word to the helper who was rude throughout. All I did was say "she wasn't being nice" when the owner said she was "NICE to have even taken my order". Rest is upto you guys, if you want to ruin your day and get terrible attitude, this is the place to go. Again, their insta has some beautiful arrangements, probably not for someone like us, even if we are willing to pay. Very bad experience. All I wanted was to help my friend get a nice customized bouquet for his wife. Shared inspiration pic. Asked for suggestions, was willing to pay whatever they suggested. Tried making small talk, complimented, tried to chit chat. They said something like the inspiration takes time to put together so come 3 hours later. 3 hours later when I went to pick it up, she literally put no thought in bouquet and put together something in 90 seconds in front of me. I had the audacity to complain to which things escalated quickly and she told me to "get out and never come back". Please go to a local wegmans if you're brown for more respect and choice of flowers. However, she was not there when I visit and my orders were not prepared. Her coworker also had no thought my order and she asked me design of flowers again and she said she will make it within 15min. What a... I ordered 3 bouquets. I waited outside and the owner I called this morning and her coworker literally put flowers in short time while I was waiting. I got this bouquet as a gift for my birthday from Kendall flower shop. When I received it, my jaw fell to the floor because I've truly never seen flowers so beautiful and so expertly arranged. Look at those colors! There is so much care and thought behind each flower chosen in this bouquet, and it is physically impossible to love it any more than I already do. It's simply perfection, and I thank all of the staff at Kendall for making a special day that much more special. The staff is so kind and went out of their way to wish me a happy birthday! I highly recommend this small woman-owned business to anyone looking for flowers for any occasion. I only wish I lived close by and could stop by regularly! The girl on duty today neglected me intentionally, no greetings, no chatting or farewells, she was very reluctant to answer my questions or provide suggestions. Buyer beware.... we purchased flowers for our administrative assistant to thank her for running a meeting at local hotel for our company. We thought we would try a local business, however we are extremely disappointed. The flowers arrived alive but within hours the fresh flowers were dead, even with putting them into water as soon as they arrived. After contacting them about dead flowers, the response was not pleasant or customer friendly. Both the employee and store owners response was rude and blamed us for not taking care of the flowers properly. Our large company orders flowers for employees daily. The shoppe always had fresh flowers in stock, always had something interesting or unusual, and always gave me lots of great ideas, wanting to come back for more (for me!). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We have a tight floral budget at work, and the staff always helped me find the most bang for my buck. Pros: - Quick service once I came in with a bouquet and help putting it into a vase - Free mini-cards and a nice stem to hold the card in a vase Cons: - Not particularly friendly at first (I came in to look around and wasn't greeted by anyone) - Not a huge selection of 'to go' flowers. My cat knocked over one of my large plants and broke the terracotta pot it was in. I didn't have time to get to a hardware store to buy another, so I called Kendall Flower Shop and within a half hour they had helped me track down a new pot so my poor plant wouldn't die. I went in on Monday July 11...sales person completely ignored me even though I was in there for a few minutes and she saw me. I asked how much the single stems of spray roses were. She just looked at me with a stone face and said "$4.50" not even the slightest indication of a smile or anything. These were tiny single stems, I thought t he price was high for 3 tiny little mini roses but I wanted them for a tiny vase someone gave me at work. I brought them to the counter and said "Someone gave me a tiny little vase at work and these would be the perfect size!" with a smile...what did I get another stone face with "Do you want them wrapped?" Most importantly 1 of the roses was dead in 1 day, the other 3 roses flopped over and died by Wednesday morning. I work in Kendall but will not go back here for flowers for my tiny vase! read more

Disappointing the two times I've gone. The one time I REALLY needed flowers quickly, they'd had a sign up that said "Back at 1pm," and it was 1:30. I waited until almost two before giving up. The two bouquets I've gotten here faded quickly and were halfheartedly put together while the women behind the desk gossiped. Poor presentation, of both the flowers and the store. I like the fact that I can go in, describe my girlfriend, name an amount that I am willing to spend and then they make the magic happen. Splashes of color and sweet music are both welcome in the stark environment of Kendall Square ( a favorite place of mine, to be sure), and the Kendall Flower Shop provides both. Of course they have flowers- dozens of kinds, both affordable and luxurious types. As soon as they open up, the flowers are placed in buckets on the brick sidewalk right outside the front door, adding a lovely touch of nature to this block, which features an entrance to the Red Line, a bank, a post office and not much else. They also play music. When you rush by on your way to work, you will hear some old standards, classic rock and songs that just about anyone can hum along to. Some days when I pass through Kendall Square, burdened with work issues, bad weather, a broken umbrella and ill fitting shoes, I hear some great tune by Richie Havens or Van Morrison and hey....all of my silly worries go away. Customer service is terrific. They are friendly and deliver when they say they will. I have gone in to order, purchased for myself and called to place orders, and in all situations I was met with efficient, friendly people. And here is the greatest thing. On the day of the MIT memorial service for Officer Sean Collier, April 24, 2013, they offered free white flowers in his honor. Sweet. read more

My wife works not too far from Kendall Flower Shop. I call regularly with ridiculous requests. Kendall Flower delivers. The flowers are generally very fresh (they last for sometime after delivery), and the flowers arrive when they say that they will arrive. Originally I ranked this four stars. Occasionally there is help that is off the mark. But the owner is always happy to help. They've been very good to me. I am changing my rating to five stars. read more

06.11.2014 Update: The 3 peonies I was given on Tuesday were dead on Wednesday. Oh well.... I bought peonies (long-lasting flowers) on Friday afternoon, and they were dead on Monday. They hadn't opened, they were just all dried up and dead. I called the shop on Monday morning and the very lovely sales clerk said (as any reputable floral sales clerk would and should say) "we will, or course, make it right". Brought the dead flowers back, but the owner wasn't there. The lovely (I think I already said it, but it's true!) sales clerk had to call the owner on the phone. When I spoke to the owner she wasn't apologetic but accusatory that it was MY fault the flowers didn't last. She didn't want to replace them. She finally replaced with a much smaller order. Note to self: the flowers by the t last longer, aren't as expensive, and you certainly don't have to put up with any attitude! read more

Failed to deliver Valentine's arrangement on Valentines day. Simply inexcusable. When I called at 6:45pm on the 14th to inquire as to what the problem was, I was told that my flower arrangement had just gone out for delivery... to an office building... at 6:45pm. I have had both good and not-so-good experiences with this flower shop, but they are very close to where I work, so sometimes I don't have a choice. It is true that they are more expensive than some other shops. From time to time when I go in the selection is small, and other times I see amazing sprigs. I guess it just depends on what they have ordered for custom arrangements. For the most part, they are pleasant and accommodating. KFS is great! I walked in, close to closing, and they had had a ridiculously busy day--providing flowers earlier that day for a huge event--they had been working for more than 24 hours(!!!). The staff was still totally charming and fun, and put together a gorgeous bouquet for my friend for her birthday for a totally reasonable price.
