When visiting Florida, I never imagined that I'd make a visit to a veterinary hospital. My boyfriend's mother saw a bird get struck by a car, and she wanted to give them a fighting chance for survival. We dropped the bird off who will be monitored overnight, then delivered to a bird rescue tomorrow. I appreciate the kindness and care they provided. I booked an appointment online, in the evening, for my severely ill Budgie to be looked at ASAP (2 days). I got a call the next morning and I was able to get in a day early! Unfortunately, my budgie was terminally ill and Dr. Delaney offered me several options that ,frankly, my finances were just not ready for at the time. Ultimately, Dr.Delaney was able to work with me and my budget to give my buddy a peaceful passing. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Delaney and her kind, compassionate assistant. On 4-28-26 a $500 test was ordered that was vital in determining my cat's condition. I was told the results should be back within 24-48 hours. My cat died yesterday, and this is day 14 of the test results pending. Since my cat passed away, I called and asked if it was possible to cancel the test, after spending $12,000 in a couple of weeks on this process, $500 is $500! I was told I would receive a phone call from the practice manager the next morning to discuss it. No call... I came online to share my experience on Google. Turns out a negative Google review got more attention than calling to inform them my pet was dying and I needed test results. I got a call from the C.O.O. to discuss the matter at the end of the day. They have amazing employees at the doctor and tech level, but pray your animal doesn't need attention on serious matters beyond the tech and doctor's control. Absolutely abysmal and uncaring. I took a critically endangered species of tortoise in Friday at 4:30. Paid $500 for a CT that I was told by the vet would have results in about 12 hours. Saturday morning at 11:55am after still not having received a call, I called in to get a copy of the results. Was told they weren't in yet, called again at 12:07pm still no results but that the vet (that couldn't read them herself), wouldn't be in until TUESDAY and it would have to wait until then. Never did the Dr Duhlainey mention that, I was concerned about the tortoise enough to spend $500 for the CT alone (total bill $763) but would haveto wait almost 96 hours for the results? Why bother, it would have made more sense to bring him back Tuesday am and get the results same day. 12:17pm a tech calls to check on the tortoise, obviously oblivious what she stepped into. The tech says the results ARE in and agrees it's ridiculous the vet didnt mention that it would be until Tuesday until we could get the results and says she will try send them. Got her name and that she would be there until 5:30pm. 3:02 still nothing, call in and try to speak to tech who after a long delay I am told went early home sick. At this point I ask for my whole medical record, which was ok until I also said to be sure to include the CT results and I also wanted the CT images. Suddenly then it wasn't possible, with reception said it was "against office policy" (I guess to risk letting the animal die not to break thier almighty policy). Told her I would be coming up and she hung up. Keep in mind when you call in, the recording says "ALL calls are recorded", so there is a recording of all of this. Before getting to the office, I called Winter Park PD to come assist to protect myself against more of their lies. Upon arriving, PD officer was already there talking to an office worker outside and 3 more units showed up shortly thereafter. They also tried to tell the Officer they didn't have the report, but after telling her what they told me she went back in and suddenly they did have it.This was also just one of many things they lied about. It's all recorded for proof as well so there is no dispute. They did have me legally trespassed which I thought was odd, but totally didn't care as I have NO desire to go there again in this life or the next. Funny too as a vet had the time to come out to do that, but never to get on the phone to go over my results. Then again they had my money, paid in cash, so what do they care. Finally, called WPPD to get incident number for inclusion with my complaint too all concerned Veterinarian boards. Gave the dispatcher the time and address and she says, "Oh is this about the threats?" NEVER ONCE, did I ever threatened anyone or anything, once again their recorded phones calls could prove this never happened. The case # is 20252211571 if anyone doubts any of this is true. Having worked in law enforcement and animal care both, I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be necessary to have to get PD involved to get a pets medical file. A review for bunny owners amongst the dog and cat lovers. Winter Park Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful hospital with caring professionals. If you have an exotic pet/small mammal, I highly recommend the doctors here. My bunny Sesame had a GI scare and I was calling around frantically trying to get an appointment for her to be seen since I didn't want for her to reach GI Stasis. WPVH was able to get me in the same day. Dr. Delaney was very professional and knowledgeable about the situation. I appreciated her care and explanations, and felt very comfortable moving forward with her treatment plan. She was also upfront about costs which I appreciated since exotic animal veterinary care can be very pricey and I really appreciated the transparency. That being said, it was still pretty pricey (but that's fairly typical for exotic vets, rabbits are expensive pets to have). There was a $190 deposit and her treatment cost $300, including x-rays and medication. Again, that's pretty average for exotic vet care and she received quality treatment, so I have no complaints! Sesame was up and running the next day after taking her medication. I also appreciated the follow up call the next day. Aside from their treatment center, I also saw that WPVH provides boarding and other services. The facility is also gorgeous -- there's a small garden and water fixture in the front and the lobby is lovely. There's tons of space and I think their cat room has windows overlooking the lobby; it was so cute seeing a glimpse of them! This was our first visit since the vet we had used prior couldn't get us in for several weeks and we have a new kitty that needed attention. Everyone there was incredibly nice and were very attentive. When we arrived, we checked and filled out the form and we're lead to the exam room within 10 minutes. Our dog was having irregular loose stool for approx. 2 1/2 days, which I noticed one evening that our dog was acting weird, sitting up on the bed and staring off into space for no reason, on the 3rd day noon, vomit came into play. It was coughed up solid as an odd color. Fed the dog some oatmeal relief later in the day to provide some relief or result of some kind. Day 4 was a horrendous night for our dog, w/o our knowledge, when I woke up to 4 lrg, liquidy spots on the rug and 10 loose stool blotches in the garage where our dog has access to do its needs during the night or day if need be. Took care of that mess with great concern. The kicker was that when I finished up and headed for the kitchen, I spotted a new and recent vomit spot. It was our dog's food from its prior day feeding time, all practically undigested. That when we went to the vet, after calling them asking if it was going around in the community dog world, the answer was basically, yes. So and apptmnt. Was made for an 1 1/2 later the same day. We knew WinterPart Vet. already when our dog had to get 7 teeth pulled to dental issues. We were happy with the results and continued to be patrons, shots and such, as noted by the aforementioned. We encountered a novice doctor who approached the issue, almost as a car salesman, after hearing the breakdown of why we were there. Blood tests, cancer test, X-rays, and who know what else was offered. The novice doctor also proceeded during the course of the visit to probe our dog's anus, to which our dog had a horrendous reaction. The young doctor immediately removed her hand, mentioned something about she wanted to probe for something that might be hard. The regret and miscalculation was obvious as daylight in full bloom by their facial expression and body language. We finally settled on only the very basic blood test and some pills that would cut short the loose stools and also would solidify it. Which it has done. What disturbed us was that there was no mention of assessing the situation in a common sense way, such as let's just take a blood test, give you some pills, feed the dos the proper foods for this type of situation and see how it goes. If no relief in couple of days or so. Make another appmnt. By evening of the same day, we saw improvement and now 2 1/2 days later is things are just about normalized. Bottom line is that sale pitch for everything under the sun tests, would have cost us over $1,000. We are prepared to find a more grounded veterinary. read more

My dog has been dealing with skin problems for months under thier care. Her medicine lapsed so Winter Park hospital did write a new prescription for her. We did get it filled out with Wedgewood. I called Winter Park veterinary because she was in such agony that I needed something in the interim. The medicine was coming in on a Monday and we were at Wednesday dealing with this horrible itch problem on our dog not only did they not help us , they called and canceled the prescription from Wedgewood after we paid for it , and paid extra for shipping overnight. They called and they CANCELLED it. of course they waited till Friday evening at 5:30 to cancel it...so if you want treatment like this go to Winter Park veterinary hospital. read more

Our baby Jack is a feisty one and was very stressed and scared. The hospital staff all helped us get his kennel inside and took care with him to keep him calm. He was sedated for his exam to prevent any more stress to him and they helped us by giving him injection medication so we would not have to administer at home. i can not say enough kind words about this establishment! Dr Delaney and Eric were both so kind and informative when it comes to avian care. Dr.Delaney and Eric my Vet Tech, both have experience in caring for birds in their personal lives which made me that much more confident in their ability to care for my bird. I recognize that a pigeon is quite an unusual pet to have, but I never felt like i was treated any differently than if i had brought my cat or dog in for care. as far as the treatment in office and direction of my care for my bird at home, I receive proper medications and care instruction for my sweet bird's after care as well as new diet recommendations to keep my beloved Pidgie healthy and happy! Pidgie received so much relief after receiving Dr.Delaney's care, he was a whole new bird when he came home! he was more comfortable and less irritated. Where do I even begin?! One word: AMAZING. Dr. LosKamp and his team were the most caring, professional, educated and friendly staff (maybe even people in general) that I have ever met. I have a three year old bearded dragon, Zippo, with a long history of an undiagnosed disease in his tail that presented with darkening of the scales, necrotic looking tissue and a previous arm amputation from the same symptoms. First for some context, I took my beardie to a clinic about a year ago when I lived in VA and I was told my dragon was a female (depsite 'her' never laying eggs) and that the swelling in 'her' arm was a bacterial infection and the arm had to be amputated. So I followed the care plan, we did the amputation and about a year later darkening and diseased tissue appeared on 'her' tail. I called on a Thursday and I was able to be seen at the Winter Park Veterinary Hospital on a Saturday of all days which was amazing and they got Zippo in first thing to see the Doctor. Immediately, they correctly sexed Zippo as male, got a heartbeat monitor, assessed and even gave him some fluids before suggesting the tail amputation after they removed the nectrotic tissue and saw how diseased the tail was underneath. I was given up front prices, and all the information to make a decision. I trusted their knowledge and brought Zippo in the next morning. He was given back to me that same day completely warm (if you know you know) and wide awake, which is loads better than the clinic in VA ever did. Dr. LosKamp was extremely knowledgeable regarding the fungal infection and bacterial infection that Zippo ended up being diagnoses with. I was even able to choose to do more diagnostic testing and this was well worth it. The Doctor called daily to follow up. My baby boy is now much better, and is on a daily regime of antifungals for his correct diagnoses and is improving from what would have been a death sentence if it were not for this facility. I have gone back for several follow ups (my choice, I was not pressured or forced to come back), and each time I receive the same incredible care and the team genuinely cares about Zippo. The ladies at the front are so helpful and help run the show in an efficient and calm manner. I cannot recommend this hospital enough for your exotic and fluffy pet needs. Dorothy Komo NOT TAKE DO YOUR PET HERE--READ THIS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE I brought my dog, Sasha, to this clinic on a Sunday for IV fluids and blood work--nothing more. She was walking, not in severe distress, and I was simply being cautious. Instead of addressing my request, they immediately pushed euthanasia and expensive tests before even examining her. When I declined their thousands-of-dollars bill and asked for the fluids I originally came for, their attitude changed. They claimed Sasha was receiving IV fluids, but over an hour later, when I demanded to see her, they claimed only the catheter had been placed, yet the fluids had not even started. She was left alone--unstable and untreated--while I was kept waiting without any updates. Then, they pressured me into approving a pain injection, assuring me it would "prolong her life." I specifically asked if it was safe, and Dr. Crainick reassured me that it was. Almost immediately after the injection, Sasha had a seizure. When they finally returned her to me, she was barely responsive--her body stiff, eyes unmoving. I even asked if she is dead. They insisted she was just doped up "sedated. She died on the way home. She started convulsing--gasping for air, screaming. I was helpless to do anything. WHAT THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW They refused to let me be with Sasha while she was treated. (I highly warn anyone: DO NOT go alone. Demand to stay with your pet. (Video camera to document everything.) They claimed IV fluids were being given, but over an hour later, they hadn't started. They refused to show security footage of what happened during the time they took Sasha to the back. (First, the manager Calvin Johnson said he "wasn't sure about the delay" and would escalate it to HR. Then, after I sent a certified letter, Mr. Hess (the owner/manager) responded with a generic statement claiming they did everything right.) They pressured me into pain medication instead of antibiotics--even though they admitted her white blood cell count was low (a sign of infection). DEFLECTING RESPONSIBILITY Instead of taking accountability, they have dodged my concerns, refused transparency, and even attempted to discredit me by bringing up an unrelated incident from over 16 years ago. That issue was caused by them, fixed by them, and has NOTHING to do with what happened to Sasha. They are simply using it as a distraction to avoid responsibility. FINAL WARNING I have never written a negative review before, but I will never forgive myself if I don't warn others. No pet owner should go through what I did. I trusted them, and they failed Sasha in every possible way. Demand to stay with your pet. Record everything. Do NOT let them pressure you. RABBIT PARENTS BEWARE! If I could deter just ONE of you, I will feel like my bun's memory & last three weeks of unimaginable pain won't be in vain. I took my beautiful bun here &it will forever feel like one of the worst mistakes I ever made. (Review condensed to fit character limit) Late at night on February 28th, 2024, my 2 yr old, Trix, was being unusual on their baby camera; she was spinning in circles & leaning on her right side. February 29th, when everyone opened, I scheduled an appt w/ Winter Park Veterinary Hospital (WPVH) at 6pm same day. The ONLY reason I chose this vet was because our usual vet was off & I was afraid to wait another day. W/both buns in tow, I get to our appt, fearing the worst & prepared to pay/do whatever was necessary to fix it. I show the video of Trix & provide a brief history of our buns (they were rescued from the wild; let go by our neighbors w/Trix still growing then & Nesquik's age unknown as he was already fully grown). After a quick physical check up, vet #1 (refraining from giving names) told me it was an ear infection & said & I quote, "I'm surprised you even caught it. Most wouldn't have noticed this early." I was relieved (at the time), thinking, "thank God it's just an ear infection," & paid $300 for her visit, antibiotic shot, pain medication & oral antibiotics. In hindsight, I can't remember a time that a vet wasn't extra precautious & recommended something more (i.e. bloodwork or Xray) like I thought we would be doing, just in case. March 3rd, get new antibiotics (left ours out by accident) & confirmed the doctor didn't want a follow up (thinking the meds would make a difference) Over next 2 weeks, noticed gradual decrease in our buns appetite, but still observed them eating, drinking, & being their normal, happy selves, so I contributed this to Trix's medication upsetting her tummy or possible lingering pain, or the rising FL temps making the house warmer & the buns less hungry. Flashforward to March 17th & Trix is terribly wrong. Her right eye (same side as her "ear infection") is bulging & she has a noticeable disinterest in food or water. Worse yet, camera malfunctioned & didn't record the 16th or 17th for me to determine if something caused the eye or when she last ate. To be proactive, I syringe feed her water & a smoothie of greens, apples, water & give her a hot water bottle. I just returned to work from a 7 month med leave, so mom agrees to come down to take her to the vet on my behalf the 19th (earliest we could get since WPVH required a $200 emergency fee despite a possible misdiagnosis) March 18th, 6pm Trix is wheezing & has clear, thin discharge from her nose. Bulge around right side of neck found later in evening. But she has higher energy levels & is taking food/water from me, so I opt not to take her in. March 19th, Trix is refusing any water or food. Mom takes her in early, insists I goto work despite my worries 11am - on phone w/vet #2 who says we have to put her under to find what's wrong. Says she understands I'm angry, claims it could still be related to ear infection (how when it was caught early & being treated?), but I angrily agree to put her under, to pay $1400 to save my baby from their misdiagnosis. Hours & $900 later, they return my beautiful bun... in a box... because she died on the table... from a tumor in her face... that ate thru her jawbone... that could have been caught.... with an xray. WPVH robbed me of the opportunity of knowing if I could have made a difference in how my bun's life ended; I will never know if we could have caught it early enough or if I could have made better choices for her quality of life. And instead of acknowledging their mistake, WPVH has shifted blame & refused responsibility by claiming 1: "You didn't even know how old Trix was," & 2: "We see this a lot with rabbits that aren't spayed." Trix was 2. We knew this because we raised her & watched her grow. It was Nesquik whose age we didn't know & we intended on spaying Trix this year instead of paying $1200 for a misdiagnosis. Vet is also dodgy about sending trix's records despite asking for them 4 days ago. I suspect they will counter this review, further proving me right. I loved Trix with my soul & now a part of my soul is gone. This family adored Trix and now our family will never be the same. Bun parents, go anywhere but here. read more

i have used this hospital for years. have had a few disputes not with the doctors. today my 5 month old maltese female was in for puppy work up. none of my dogs have ever been on. ( brav ecto ) i view this medication as being --unsafe. the pup had received sentinel for heart worms. i have a credit card on file so i never saw an invoice. when i returned home i noticed i had both medications for adaline my maltese. my husband returned the box ov bravo/ ecto. they informed him they would not refund the money that was charged for that. i have never ever used for any of my dogs. i want the public to know you will be charged for medication you don't use. it is an unreasonable stance to take..so here i am either sollow money grabbing rules or move on. read more

I can't say enough nice things about my experience here! Background: our almost 2 year old GSP was surrendered and this is the vet he was at with his former family. We have only had him for a little over two months. Our GSP hit something in our backyard at night and had a nice cut in his thigh. Big enough that we believed he needed stitches but in a location that meant we could wait for the morning. I arrived at WP vet at 7:15am just as they opened and they seriously bent over backwards to fit me in within the hour! They were all so kind and walked me through the plan for stitches and the price. Considering I was in a state of panic to help our dog, get kids to school, and leave for a planned vacation the next morning, they really showed up for us. They gave me the wrong prescription for my pet! i got home and realized what they did. i called there told them what had happened. the one girl who I had not been dealing with started spouting off rules was very rude! She would not take them back, or refund money! The supervisor called today, she was at first nice but turned rude very Quickly! My vet took 20 minutes past my appointment which I brushed off, but her bedside manner and lack of emotion or engagement were very disheartening. She told me about a steroid shot that they were going to draw up right away. I waited for 40 minutes and the vet was still nowhere to be found. I went out to the front bc I waited for any human to help me and none could be found. As I walked in, a front desk worker told me an employee was having a seizure. I felt very bad for her - but how could at least my vet not be available? An employee finally gave him the shot and I asked why there was no one available as he was in so much pain with itching and a red burning stomach. She told me about the seizure as if that should explain everything and cause no problems. It was just fine for them to let my cat be in pain for so much longer than needed. I was there for over an hour for a checkup and a shot. The waiting area had employees talking about inappropriate things - yelling and joking with the other people that worked there to the point of their voices echoing. I was very uncomfortable with them and even being in the room. I found it very odd as they knew I was there. A few days afterward I called them and they said as an afterthought oh yeah the vet wants your cat to come in for a checkup within 2 weeks. She never told me anything about that at the checkup, let alone asked. I spent a ton of $ the first time and the vet's entitlement is so strong that she feels she doesn't have to tell me about an appointment (so so weird) and that the $ for it is so easy to find that there will be no problem. After taking all of this I knew I had to take my cat to a higher rated and professional place. Since my cat got the shot he's been sneezing and he's never sneezed before. He's sick now so I'll have to pay another vet to take care of what they did wrong. No one told me the side effects of this med although I tried asking. I tried this place once and I'll never come back. I needed to let others know. Also - if you look at the one star review where a woman stated - in great detail - how their negligence caused their dog, who went in for a cough, to literally die. While they charged her thousands of $ for killing their dog. The vet hospital's response on yelp was passive aggressive, rude, and far from believable. I hope that woman got justice. It's taken me some time to write this review because I recently lost my 15 year old 'Labradorasaurus" Phoebe. Phoebe was a Hurricane Katrina rescue dog and I got her in 2005 at about one year old. Her and I have been through a lot together since 2005. She was truly 'woman's best friend'. I moved to the Winter Park area and was looking for a new veterinarian for Phoebe as her old one was too much of a drive for an old lady like her. I looked at all the reviews and decided on Winter Park Veterinary Hospital. I'm so glad that I did. The staff at WPVH met Phoebe as an older lady who was behind on her shots. They were very kind and understanding about the fact that there was a gap in her care because of life circumstances. They were amazing and excellent throughout Phoebe's golden years. Both Phoebe and I loved Dr. Villanueva and amazing vet tech Becky. They were gentle and kind with the old gal and gave a worried dog momma great advice, proper medication and supplements in her final years. They have an online portal Vetsource to have meds easily shipped to your house. I never felt rushed or pressured which was key for me. They have an excellent main veterinary hospital but also a convenient and well appointed wellness clinic next door for checkups and nail trims. Phoebe could be dog/cat aggressive so they were mindful of that and would get her right in to a room with her name in chalk on the door. Then the time came where I had to make the hardest decision of my life to set my puppy-love free from her earthly shell. If you've been through it, you know what I mean. They let me bring her to the quiet and relaxed wellness clinic. Again, everyone was compassionate and amazing, the room with a garden view and a statue of St. Francis was a beautiful touch. Dog owners BEWARE! Winter Park Veterinary Hospital let our little Yorkie Coco die in a crate all by herself and then had the audacity to charge us $2200.00! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY! They gave her vaccines after knowing she had a heart condition. They let her die and then charged us for it! I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau but it will never bring Coco back. This place is a disgrace and they should have their license to practice revoked! If you want your pet to live, PLEASE bring your pet to the emergency room before bringing your pet here! We mourn the loss of Coco every day! I would give them 10 stars if I could!! I had barely parked my car before one of their staff members, Arthur, had popped his head out and offered to help me carry in my 2 cats. I woke up with a cold and feeling miserable, so I REALLY appreciated the help. He already had a room set up for us, so we went right in and he made sure we were all comfortable. When trying to weigh them he really took the time make them happy and was very gentle. Becky, one of the vet techs, came in shortly after and literally got on the floor with my babies to talk and play with them!! Toys and treats were readily available, so both cats had plenty of things to keep them happy. Dr. Villanueva was also fantastic. She and Becky took the time to explain everything to me. They were very aware that my cats have 2 very different personalities, and tailored the way they did each examination. They even got a heating towel for my big scaredy cat to "hide" underneath while they did the exam and gave her shots. This was by far the best vet experience I've ever had, and glad my fur-children will be receiving their excellent care from now on. read more

Recomendation : Emergency and routine care very good however prices are inflated... and I do not recommend taking your dog to play camp .. it's over crowded , my dog has been bitten twice as of no fault of her own which you are then required to cover any surgery even if your dog did not bite but was attacked. not enough room for dogs and only a few of the pet counselors seem properly trained. There is no pet cam to be able to watch your dog during the day and the plsy area is so small it smells unhygienic . thumbs down . and they just went up in price. read more

Went in on a Saturday evening around 5:30. Our cat had slipped and fell off a filing cabinet that sliced her leg open (trashed them after that obviously). They took her in right away and were completely transparent about what was going on. Offered us water and coffee, set boundaries for pricing right away. Exam was $150 to start and they quickly saw she needed an operation. Within three hours we were in and out, sedated, sanitized, staples and a severed tendon later. We spent a total of $680 for an emergency operation. Possibly not the most price friendly?? But very diligent, clean, positive staff. They reassured me continually as the operation went on. Thankful we found them! Emergency hours are from 5-8 or 9 I believe. read more

Every night while our dogs were boarded Hamilton and Cheddar were read a bedtime story, tucked in, and we were sent a picture letting us know they were ready for bed. This place is a sad joke. My puppy had a seizure due to low blood sugar and I rushed her here, got there at 645 and they said "we're closed and we can't help you" they literally close at 7 and they saw my tiny puppy in my hands while I was frantic. I didn't realize this dump of a place couldn't even provide IV's for her in that moment? But hey at least you get to go home early. Dr. Newman preformed three major surgeries on our Great Dane at once and did a beautiful job. Our boy came out happy and healthy! His surgical sites were clean and neat. He personally called to check on him a few times and the office called the next day, a Saturday, to see how he was feeling. The fact that they called on a Saturday to check on him made me feel as if they truly cared about his well being. I am incredibly happy with Dr. Newman and this team! read more

I brought my guinea pigs here after multiple visits to other vets trying to find a plan for an ongoing issue with female guinea pig, Clout who has been bleeding. Andy Newman and his team were fantastic! Even though the circumstances are not great, and the piggies aren't fanatics. The staff was friendly and professional. Very thorough with the check-up and focused on the concerns at hand. The second guinea pig, ZhZhu I brought to check on her irritated eyes.
