I have taken my dog here a few times now for both boarding and grooming thanks to a friend's recommendation. I have waited to write this review since my first experience hoping it would improve after going back, but not much has changed. I will say the prices beat all the major local competition in the area for both grooming and boarding, so I would consider uptown dog an affordable option. The first time I went, my long-haired dachshund came back a shaved short haired version of himself. While it may have been a misunderstanding, I don't know many people that would prefer to change their dog from long hair to short hair. I wish they would have confirmed before shaving him. It's been almost 6 months and his hair still hasn't fully grown back. Even with that being said, I was happy to hear that they allow the dogs to play during the day when they are boarded. I don't think my dog liked it too much though, his nose was raw when I picked him up indicating a bit of anxiety. I think the office management needs to improve greatly. The hours for drop off and pick up are super confusing and very limited. You should be able to pick up and drop off your dog during normal business hours, not sure why it's limited to two half-hour increments each day. Also, it's near impossible to get a hold of the office staff by phone or email. I've always had to wait for them to call me back. They have also misplaced my dog's vaccination papers, but luckily they have a good relationship with my vet so it was easy to get. I really wish that I was more impressed with Uptown Dog, but I'm going back to Plush Paws Salon next time. read more

I took my doodle here on Wednesday for a bath.. I picked her up and everything was fine. Brought her home and it looked like a crime scene. All of her nails were cut unbelievably too short.. they couldn't have let me know? As if my dog didn't squeal on every single nail they cut??? Blood all over my blankets, couch, floor. WTF. I go back in and they give me the excuse that a trainee was doing her bath. I'm all for training people- however how about you let me know... how about you supervise so my dog doesn't come home a bloody mess. Her white paws were covered in blood. Absolutely RIDICULOUS- I've never had a grooomer do this to her and she goes very frequently. Will be advising others not to bring there dogs here and I recommend you do the same. read more

I left my dog along with a friends dog here for the weekend. We thought everything was fine until we realized we had not been given one of the dogs beds at pickup - long story short we found out the two dogs had been put together (100lbs dog and a 25lbs dog) and the bed had been destroyed along with one of the dogs getting sick everywhere. The worst part is they didn't even tell us about it at pick up and then would not return our calls until we finally went to see them face to face. Find someplace else! read more

The employees at Uptown Dog are great. They always give me a recap of what my doggie did all day and whom she played with. Plus she comes home completely exhausted (very difficult to do with a 2-year-old Vizsla). This is very close to another popular doggie day care spot, but the prices are lower, and they offer a 10th-visit-is-free discount (basically 10% off). And they have artificial turf, so the dogs can't dig, roll around in the dirt, etc., so I don't have to worry about a stinky, muddy, nasty dog at the end of the day! Uptown Dog also offers overnight stay and grooming services, which I haven't taken advantage of yet. But if you're looking for a good place to drop your dog off for the day, I absolutely recommend them! It's right by I4 at the Fairbanks exit (Fairbanks & Clay St) so it's very convenient for me and anyone who's near I4 or takes I4 to work. read more

I just started bringing my monsters here for daycare. They seem to love it and I love how worn out they are at the end of the day. The location is also convenient to my office, which is great. They also offer grooming and boarding services, so it's a one stop shop. The staff is very sweet and the facilities are large enough for my bigger furkid. read more

I am convinced my dog forgets all about me as soon as we pull up to Uptown Dog for daycare. She loves it! I was worried that she would not, since she is a little skittish, but apparently she feels at home! The staff is also very helpful and friendly, and seem to bond with the dogs that play there. The late pick up time (you can come as late as 8:00pm) is very helpful, and one of the reasons I chose this over other daycares. Its also very convenient to Winter Park, right off Fairbanks Avenue near I-4. They also offer baths and grooming while your dog stays for the day! I have not had a chance to try it yet- they recommend you book a week in advance. read more

I get my miniature schnauzer groomed here and they always do a fantastic job. When I pick him up they tell me if they had any problems with him or if he was a good boy. It's about $55 to get him groomed. read more

Took my dog for a "trial day" to see if he would like the daycare. When I picked him up the front desk reception was incredibly rude and told me that my dog had "failed the day". My dog has been to several doggy daycares as well as boarding and I have NEVER once received any complaint. Felecia the front desk lady was EXTREMLEY rude, unprofessional and seemed as if she did not even have time to talk to me about my dog. When I was waiting for her to get my dog I saw I guess who I could consider a manager yelling at another employee. It was completely unprofessional and unorganized. WOULD NOT recommend this establishment to any doggy parent and will definitely NOT EVER be coming back. read more

We left our 2 dogs with strict instructions they were to be kept alone. We went paddleboarding and picked them up a couple hrs later. We noticed about 50 miles away that sams nose was blistered. A rub burn type. I used neosporin and it cleared up in a couple days. I hadnt noticed under his chin was rubbed. Ended up costing me $130 vet bill in Dallas. I called and the manager left a message on my phone that the staff should have told me. That was how i learned they knew. I spoke to her a day later and she promised the owner would call me. He never has. I have called, he doesnt speak to me. I love my dogs far too much to ever leave them there again. read more

Ace you're amazing and really cool! You take good care of my fluffy Persian cat Tobi. I love the lion cut style you do every time. Grooming for cats start at around $42. The hours work out well for me... by appointment, Open on Saturdays. Drop off must be prior to 9:30am. Sometimes I make it there slightly later and I appreciate you always accommodating me even though my tardiness. I understand the shampoo guy is there only for a few hours in the AM and I promise to make it there earlier next time. Keep doing a great job on my little Persian cat. They also offer Cat and Dog boarding which I've used in the past as well. The Cat room is nice and comfortable, setup like a family room with a sofa and nice cool AC. My puppy Roxy loved her stay at Uptown Dog! We dropped her off for day care for a trial run before she stays for overnight boarding, and she came back so happy! The employees are wonderful and they loved Roxy. The facility is small which is great because they can pay more attention to the dogs indiviually instead of boarding as many dogs as possible. I also liked the fact that they have turf and they sanitize it weekly. I'm glad my puppy will be able to socialize with other dogs comfortably, with a small crowd instead a large group of dogs. They also have great prices as well, especially for a holiday weekend. read more

I am officially obsessed with this place and the staff. I rescued a sweet little pup two months ago and immediately started bringing her here for daycare. She was a part of a puppy mill before being given to a high kill shelter. she had little socialization as most of her life was spent in a crate or cage and so I was looking for a place where she would get love and attention and learn to play with other pups while I was at work. I was nervous at first to leave her, but the staff is so sweet and after just two days of going to daycare my little dog was clearly excited to see the staff and to be at daycare, but the love goes both ways as everyone quickly knew her by name and showered her with love and attention as soon as she arrives. In the months since she has been going she has come out of her shell so much! She's learned how t play not only with me, but with other dogs. I have also has her bathed here several times and she always comes home smelling great with perfectly manicured nails. All that aside, their hours are amazing and their prices are beyond great. Uptown dog gives me the peace of mind that my little companion is being well cared for and loved as well as having a ton of fun while I am at work. read more

I have never had to board my two small dogs before, but due to an emergency that came up in my family I dropped them off at Uptown Dog last minute. They were very friendly and able to accommodate us the day before our last minute trip, which I was happy with. The place is small and quaint, and the boarding fee was very reasonable. I was never able to see the facility in which they stayed (they were sharing the same kennel and I was hoping to check out the size of it, but they said they couldn't show me at the time), and although I scheduled my dogs to have baths before they came home, they were not given ones, and were extremely stinky from playing outside and in their kiddie pool. I left several toys and a bag of treats for our dogs when I dropped them off which were not given back to me until I repeatedly asked about the toys and described them specifically. If you choose to board with Uptown Dog make sure to check out the boarding facility, don't bring any toys, and if you plan on having your dogs washed afterwards, call to make sure that this actually gets done! Aside from these small issues, my pups came home happy and healthy, which is what is important :-) read more

I just went to Uptown Dog for the first time this weekend. I took both of my American Eskimo dogs. They were in need of grooming. We left our other groomer and hadn't found one until we heard about Uptown Dog. They were GREAT! The office staff was very helpful and the groomers in the back were wonderful. Our dogs looked like show dogs when we picked them up!! I can honestly say they have NEVER looked better! read more

My dog started going to the daycare here in August 2015. He always seemed very scared to leave my side whenever I dropped him off, but the staff always told me that he did great with the other dogs. I also asked one day if I could have a tour of the place and they wanted me to come back on a certain day, which was also odd. Last month (March 2016) I picked him up on a Friday and when we got in the car I noticed he had what looked like a tooth mark bite on his face under his eye. I called the daycare to see if they knew what happened and the girl at the front desk said that an incident report hadn't been written up. This made me nervous because I expect the dogs to be watched at all times and I figured someone should have seen that he was bleeding. The following Friday I got a call that they were taking my dog to the vet because he had a cut on his side. They had no idea what had caused it. I met them at the vet's office and to me it looked like another dog had bitten him. He had to get stitches and it was a horrible experience. The only good thing was that the daycare paid the vet expenses since it happened in their care. I love my dog too much to put him through something like that again. He now goes to a daycare that has way more staff members per dog so they are watched at all times. I feel that since this is one of the cheapest doggie daycare's in Orlando they have way too many dogs and not enough staff. Please be very careful when choosing a safe place for your pet! read more

My wife called to make an appointment. She was told that Wednesday was booked and they made the appointment for Thursday (3/9/2017). I walked into the store and the lady did not even say hello. Was signing into the book and she asked who I had with me. She then stated that our appointment was on Saturday not Thursday. I explained to her that we never make a Saturday appointment because we don't live in the city and we were goin to be out of town this Saturday for a funeral. She stated that there was noting she could do even though it was their mistake. So I had to take my dog to my office. I can understand mistakes but have the decency to fix a mistake that you make.
