Well, where do I start... I brought my dog in here this past weekend, after speaking with them several times on the phone to ensure they were familiar with cutting a Newfoundland AND knew it was going to be quite the job and take some time, they assured me that they were familiar and could get it done. So I scheduled an appointment for 02/05/2021. I brought my girl in at 9:15am for her 9:30amappointment to meet with the groomer to discuss special requests and how I want her hair cut. I requested a de-shedding treatment to be added to the top tier package that I was purchasing. I asked when my girl would be ready for pickup and the receptionist informed me it would be sometimes around 1, but she would call me letting me know she was ready. 3pm rolls by... no call, so I start calling. Called 3 times, no answer. Finally the 4th time, they answer and they inform me she's been ready... oh ok well guess nobody was going to call me like they stated. When I go to pick up my girl and I paid the amount of $142.00, expecting my girl to look amazing! ... a man walks her out.... and.... her hair is cut, UNEVENLY, ears were never trimmed which I stated I wanted shaved down and the groomer even notated... and then I can hear her nails dragging, they were never even cut. I then notice the next thing that was the breaking point to all of this. I paid for the top tear... and my dog wasn't even bathed. She literally looked like they saved her for last and realized they didn't even have time to do her and instead of calling me to say that they rushed through hoping I wouldn't notice. I brought it up to the receptionist and she was apologetic and she assured me a manager would get in contact with me as late as monday. When I got home, I looked over her even more... I noticed the list of things below that were NOT done! -ears not trimmed -nails not cut -sanitary underbelly trimming -uneven body trim with long sections remaining -ears not cleaned -deshedding not done, she had clumps of hair just falling off her still -not even bathed After I noticed this, I called the shop back and demanded to speak with the owner... she stated she already informed her and she would call me as soon as she could. Saturday (02/06/2021) I receive a call, but I missed it. I promptly called back, it went to voicemail and I left a message. The remaining weekend goes by, Monday passes and then Tuesday. Nobody has reached out to me. Not a single thing since that one attempt Saturday morning. I did not pay $142.00 for a botched haircut where 1/2 services from the package I purchased were not even completed. This is poor customer service at its best. I had to take her to get re groomed and of course spend even more money. I WILL NOT recommend this business to anyone. read more

I've been taking my dog to Miss Emily's Bed & Biscuit for more than 6 years for both daycare and when my dog needs boarding. I simply can't say enough good things about Miss Emily's but two things stand out. Number one is the safety of the pets left in their care. They are always fully staffed with several people interacting with the dogs. The dogs are divided into play groups based not only on size but personality. My little Bean adores his beasties at daycare and feels totally comforatable when he has to stay overnight since he gets to hang with his buddies all day. Secondly is the competence of the staff. They know each dog's personality, likes and dislikes. The interaction between staff members shows professionalism, respect and it's clear that they are a super team who really like working together! In the six years that I've been with Miss Emily's, I've seen very little turn over of staff. They are very loyal not only to our dogs and cats but also to the business owners which speaks volumes! I had heard good reviews about this place, so I wanted to give them a try. After filling out all the paperwork online they want you to schedule a meet and greet day by calling them to set an appointment. When I called to set an appointment, they told me that one of my dogs could not stay there because she is a Pitbull. They have breed specific discrimination. This is very sad, that this day and age people still discriminate about one of the sweetest breed of dogs. And just to let you know, they have great friendly service, don't discriminate agains breeds and both of my dogs had no temperament issue and will be boarding with them. Again, I see y'all allow Labradors and Golden Retrievers, and you have other large breeds in your pictures, so I know the discrimination is based on breed. I checked in my two cats to be boarded in Miss Emily's Kitty Condos. The drop-off process was incredibly easy and the staff was tremendously kind. My cats had no problems getting settled on their first day, but one of my cats decided that she wasn't too fond of playtime and became stressed, sitting atop their condos and not allowing the staff to get her down. While this was happening, I was on a plane and had no access to my phone. The staff tried to calm my cat down and try to get her back in her condo. Unfortunately, she was stressed and didn't take kindly to being boarded even after being boarded before. The staff kept in constant contact with me, letting me know how my precious cat was doing and if she had come down. In the end, we had to have the cats picked up by their emergency contact and had to cut their stay short. With that being said, the care Miss Emily's staff had toward my cats (even while one was hissing up a storm) made me want to write this review, knowing that your pets are in good hands, even when things don't go according to plan. I would recommend Miss Emily's to anyone who needs to board their pet in Orlando, dog or cat, as they truly have your pet's needs in mind. read more

Our dog completed her trial day and is now being boarded at Miss Emily's and I can't tell you how happy we are with this decision. They sent photos (see attached) where she clearly was having the time of her life and gave a report card as well. They're also very attentive and make sure they know everything about your dog before boarding: when to give which treats, medication and food schedules, anything and everything. When we brought her in for boarding today she was leaping and bounding towards the door because she couldn't wait to get in and have fun. So glad we found this place!! read more

Check this place out! I was not able to use the facility because my cats are 18 & 20 years old, never boarded before. Apparently there is an age limit for boarding and I can understand that. I can't say enough amazing things about Miss Emily's. My boyfriend and I are over-protective dog parents, to say the least, so finding a place that we could trust with our pup was a challenge. We had a great feeling about Miss Emily's right from the start. I love that they require an "introduction day" for your dog (which is complimentary, by the way) to evaluate his/her behavior and determine her temperament. That way, they know which dogs to group them with for play time. I also really appreciate that they structure the days for the dogs vs. let them run wild all day. I've visited some other doggy day care and boarding facilities but this one is easily the best. My ONLY negative comment would be that we really wish they installed web cams in their facilities like other places do as an easy way to check in on our dog while away. read more

Me and my boyfriend are Orlando natives and could not survive without this place! Miss Emily's takes such great care of our pup Bosco. He has pretty bad separation anxiety and they take great care of him. He hurt his paw one day at doggy daycare and they were very attentive and got ahold of us immediately. We also left him with them for 7 days and they sent us a report card that made us feel so much more comfortable being gone. When we first got our puppers we knew it would be a lot of work, but Miss Emily's helps us make sure he gets the exercise, attention and love he needs while we're working, doing school work, or just need a day out of the house. I was researching pet hotels in the Orlando area and came across Miss Emily's. I was very reluctant to leaving my 8month old puppy there without knowing much about the facility. This was our first time being apart. Which I obviously expected to be difficult. Knowing that we couldn't take her with us to the resort we where staying in we checked out their official website and their Facebook page to get an idea of what they were about. The only thing that brought me real comfort were the positive yelp reviews. Considering that above all else my husband & I decided to give it a try. She had such a great experience. The workers were very friendly and they talked us through what our "Lilly's" next couple of days would look like. From morning walks, to puppy play times they had a layout for each day which brought us peace. We left her there for three days which was hard for us. The fact that the workers called us with updates on her stay helped us out a lot. When we picked her up she was as happy as could be. I recommend Miss Emily's to anyone that is vacationing and is in need of a safe and trust worthy place to leave their pets. read more

I found Miss Emily's on yelp and was really excited to take my dog here because of the amazing reviews and great photos. I spoke to someone on the phone, who was extremely nice and helpful, for about 10 minutes and she helped me register on the website because i was told this was the first step before my dog could come in. After doing that, she said that she would call my vet to verify she had the 4 shots needed to come there and that i could bring her in on Monday morning but that she had to be there by 9:30am in order to be groomed. Monday comes, which i requested a half day at work for, so i could bring my dog here by 9:30am and i was told that the appointment was never made and that the groomer wouldn't be in until Thursday. Therefor, my dog didn't get groomed and now i have to find another place to go to because this is extremely unprofessional. I was very much looking forward to coming here! read more

I've moved from Florida to New York a year ago, and I, well my pups, absolutely miss Miss Emily's. The boarding in my area does not compare! My dogs always looked happy at Miss Emily's, according to the photos that they will send to us. Upon entering the parking lot, they would go crazy as if they knew where they were, and they returned home exhausted. They haven't reacted the same to any boarding they've been at so far in NYC, and the energy from Miss Emily's employees made me felt at ease to leave my babies there. Super friendly staff and we also appreciate how the process from booking to pickup has been very smooth. The portal for bookings works really well, and they do a great job following up and sending reminders before holidays and busy times so existing customers don't forget to book space for their pups well in advance. My cat, Nermal, was completely relaxed on her sleeping pad when I picked her up after 4 nights at Miss Emily's. She began to whine before I had even put her in the car ... she wasn't in the mood to leave! The staff was kind, attentive, and professional. I really like that cats are kept separate from dogs, in a room on the other side of the lobby. You accompany a staffer to drop off your kitty and arrange any items as desired in the "cat condo," a little area with three shelf tiers. You also get a cute report card on your cat's behavior. I have always heard great things about this facility, but feel it's important to share my story. I did all of the intake work for a five-day stay, including a tour of the facility. Throughout the process, they mentioned my dog would need to come for a one-day familiarization visit. I was told it was so they could get to know him and so that he felt more comfortable during his longer stay. I mentioned several times that my dog, a 10-pound mixed pup, is a rescue and has never been boarded. Fast forward to the familiarization day. I got a call one hour after drop off saying he was stressed and nipping at people and couldn't stay any longer. He also couldn't be boarded at the facility during my trip. It's four days before I leave and I am shocked. Again, at no time did anyone mention that this was a possibility. I question how well the staff is trained to handle small dogs and would caution any first-time boarders to stay away. To not give a first-time customer - and first-time boarder - this type of information is extremely unprofessional. I spoke with four different people during pre-booking, including a manager. No one ever mentioned this could be an outcome. read more

My husband & I were going down to the parks for the weekend, and we wanted our pup close by. Disney's dog boarding had a less than stellar review, so we looked into boarding in Orlando. We decided on Miss Emily's because of their great reviews. She stayed for 2 nights & when we returned, we found a happy dog. We were pleased with that & hearing that she played a lot with some border collies, since she is very high energy. We discovered on the way home though that she was under fed. We gave them bags that were clearly labeled, but though she was fed when she was supposed to be, she basically missed a day of meals by what they gave her. We were very disappointed by that. We were glad that she was happy and that the people taking care of her were very nice, but being under fed was a big deal to us. read more

I love this place! Everyone is so friendly, it's very clean, and it's well equipped for any and all fur babies! But more importantly, my dog loves this place! I take him for daycare sometimes (so I don't have to leave him home alone all day) and he comes home sooo happy... and tired. Miss Emily's is run by a group of very caring, very attentive people. From what I can tell, they take my concerns seriously and do everything they can to address them. They reply promptly to emails and phone calls, and I just don't think there's a better value for the level of service in all of Orlando. Also, they have a new online booking system that makes scheduling stays for your pet really easy. Our almost 11 year old Golden suffers from doggie anxiety and kennels have never been his favorite place. We usually get a fog sitter but decided he seemed lonely and took him to Miss Emily's. Best decision ever. He bounds in the door and greets the staff like long lost friends. They give reports and text if anything seems different (saw a hot spot and wanted to make sure we knew) Everyone loves him and he's happy and tired when we pick him up. I want to start off by saying, everyone was super helpful and friendly and I'm sure their location and services are great, though I have not been in person. I just want to warn people that they have very strict rules on vaccines and especially getting the canine influenza shot, and that the sign up process is long if you just want a grooming appointment. I made a profile, password, entered photos, emergency contacts, signed paperwork, etc and booked an appointment for the following day. Or so I thought. But I almost immediately got an email that said my appointment was "rejected" as there were no spots. Ok. Weird, so I call to make an appointment for a few days later pending a call to my vet. Turns out I was late on a few of my dogs vaccines (missed them by a week) so I rushed to get her and appointment in with the vet the day before I was supposed to have the grooming appointment. I called back to get my appointment back (it was cancelled due to the vaccine issues) and was then told actually, with the canine influenza (which is not part of the required annual shots), I'd have to wait two weeks before I could bring her in. I'm sure for boarding purposes/doggy daycare customers this is no big deal, and this rigor is probably well appreciated, but for someone like me, that just wanted to take my dog in for a quick bath and nail trim, it was a huge waste of time. Ultimately, I'm taking my dog to a big chain groomer because they only require the rabies vaccination (which is already up to date), and will walk my dog over to the vet right after. read more

Our dog, Mario, stayed at Miss Emily's for over a month as we had to travel abroad. We were worried about leaving him for such a long time but he absolutely loved his stay at Miss Emily's. The staff were friendly and genuinely seemed to love their job and all the dogs. We got regular updates and photos about what Mario had been up to and they were very helpful when we had to extend his stay. When I picked Mario up he was happy and relaxed. We recently moved to the area, and since our dog does not travel well, we arranged to board him at Miss Emily's for several weeks during our move. We were a bit concerned as he had always been cared for by family and is timid around other dogs (apparently thinks he's human). They posted pictures of him regularly, contacted us regarding health issues, and loved on him like crazy! When we picked him up, he clearly had been enjoying himself and bonded with the staff as well as the other dogs. Fast-forward to this past weekend, we took him in for a much shorter 5 day stay, and as soon as he walked into the lobby, he started yapping excitedly, and followed them in with no hesitation. Could.Not.Believe.It!! It had been 4 months since he'd been there, but he remembered and LOVED them. They have definitely earned our business. So glad to have found them. read more

Just picked up our girls from their 2nd stay at Miss Emily's. On our first visit, upon arrival, my fiancé was extremely reluctant to have the girls stay there. It's attached to a Napa Auto parts and has a very small outdoor area with fake grass. Upon walking up; we saw a dog humping another dog and a teenage girl just standing around doing nothing about it. So we were a bit hesitant to let them stay, but by the time we checked in, it was too late to bring them somewhere else (it was closer to 5:30-6). So they stayed. I didn't like the fact that there is no one on staff 24 hours a day, we were told that the owner has cameras of the facility in his house. Which didn't make me comfortable either because who knows how often he looks at it. Heaven forbid something happens and the rescue crews can't get there fast enough due to traffic or whatever reason. When we called to check on the girls the following day, nobody picked up the phone. We received a call back 2 hours later. When picking the girls up, they seemed fine. We were made aware they didn't eat much, which is understandable due to anxiety of boarding. This time around, my fiancé was still not 100% on having them stay, but we did, due to my call on how they have very convenient hours for pickup. Additionally, it is affordable. However, when we picked up the girls today, it had been raining earlier (drizzling when we picked them up). Our dogs were very wet. The girls dried them off, but they were still pretty wet when they got in the car. So now we are on a 3 hour road trip with wet dogs. Thanks. Why in the world would you let dogs outside for more than just going to the bathroom if it's raining?! ESPECIALLY because the staff was aware they were being picked up today. The girl at the front said they tried to get all the dogs inside before the rain started, which is BS because our dogs were not only outside when we arrived, but they were also soaked and when we left, it was drizzling and several dogs were outside playing (and another pair humping). I didn't see any supervisor outside with the dogs either, which made me uncomfortable. We should've listened to our guts from the get go. Our dogs will not be returning. I'd rather pay more money to have them stay at a place where they'd get more individualized attention and to know they are being taken care of and not left outside in the rain, unsupervised. read more

I know they treat the pups with lots of love because every time we pull into the parking lot they are practically sprinting to the door.
