    Well, where do I start... I brought my dog in here this past weekend, after speaking with them several times on the phone to ensure they were familiar with cutting a Newfoundland AND knew it was going to be quite the job and take some time, they assured me that they were familiar and could get it done. So I scheduled an appointment for 02/05/2021. I brought my girl in at 9:15am for her 9:30amappointment to meet with the groomer to discuss special requests and how I want her hair cut. I requested a de-shedding treatment to be added to the top tier package that I was purchasing. I asked when my girl would be ready for pickup and the receptionist informed me it would be sometimes around 1, but she would call me letting me know she was ready. 3pm rolls by... no call, so I start calling. Called 3 times, no answer. Finally the 4th time, they answer and they inform me she's been ready... oh ok well guess nobody was going to call me like they stated. When I go to pick up my girl and I paid the amount of $142.00, expecting my girl to look amazing! ... a man walks her out.... and.... her hair is cut, UNEVENLY, ears were never trimmed which I stated I wanted shaved down and the groomer even notated... and then I can hear her nails dragging, they were never even cut. I then notice the next thing that was the breaking point to all of this. I paid for the top tear... and my dog wasn't even bathed. She literally looked like they saved her for last and realized they didn't even have time to do her and instead of calling me to say that they rushed through hoping I wouldn't notice. I brought it up to the receptionist and she was apologetic and she assured me a manager would get in contact with me as late as monday. When I got home, I looked over her even more... I noticed the list of things below that were NOT done! -ears not trimmed -nails not cut -sanitary underbelly trimming -uneven body trim with long sections remaining -ears not cleaned -deshedding not done, she had clumps of hair just falling off her still -not even bathed After I noticed this, I called the shop back and demanded to speak with the owner... she stated she already informed her and she would call me as soon as she could. Saturday (02/06/2021) I receive a call, but I missed it. I promptly called back, it went to voicemail and I left a message. The remaining weekend goes by, Monday passes and then Tuesday. Nobody has reached out to me. Not a single thing since that one attempt Saturday morning. I did not pay $142.00 for a botched haircut where 1/2 services from the package I purchased were not even completed. This is poor customer service at its best. I had to take her to get re groomed and of course spend even more money. I WILL NOT recommend this business to anyone.

    I've been taking my dog to Miss Emily's Bed & Biscuit for more than 6 years for both daycare and when my dog needs boarding. I simply can't say enough good things about Miss Emily's but two things stand out. Number one is the safety of the pets left in their care. They are always fully staffed with several people interacting with the dogs. The dogs are divided into play groups based not only on size but personality. My little Bean adores his beasties at daycare and feels totally comforatable when he has to stay overnight since he gets to hang with his buddies all day. Secondly is the competence of the staff. They know each dog's personality, likes and dislikes. The interaction between staff members shows professionalism, respect and it's clear that they are a super team who really like working together! In the six years that I've been with Miss Emily's, I've seen very little turn over of staff. They are very loyal not only to our dogs and cats but also to the business owners which speaks volumes! You simply can't go wrong with trusting Miss Emily's Bed & Biscuit with your dog or cat.

    My puppies. They wont allow my Pitbull because she is "Too Big". But allow other large breeds. They Breed discriminate.

    I had heard good reviews about this place, so I wanted to give them a try. After filling out all the paperwork online they want you to schedule a meet and greet day by calling them to set an appointment. When I called to set an appointment, they told me that one of my dogs could not stay there because she is a Pitbull. They have breed specific discrimination. This is very sad, that this day and age people still discriminate about one of the sweetest breed of dogs. Y'all never met my dogs. They are the sweetest bums in the world. She isn't any bigger than a "Lab", so she isn't huge. They would never hurt anyone, I've taken her to dog parks with no issues and she get along with all dogs. So to discriminate against a breed its just not right. I was actually excited to use your services because I had heard great things, but I cant condone breed discrimination. I just looked on my phone again and Your "clearly outlined" policies are not clearly outlined. I have yet to see them. Maybe when you change your discriminating policies I will change my review. You are correct, that we have not met your dogs, therefore, our intention is not to personally offend, but to let you know of our companies policies, and what we can accommodate. We have these restrictions in place, like many other animal facilities, restaurants, apartments, etc, both due to the nature of our smaller facility, as well as our socialized play program. We do make allowances for breeds on that restricted list, however, due to our size, that capacity is already full with what we can accommodate. We are not asking for you to agree, we are just informing you of our program and facilities limitations, by being transparent up front in our communication, as well as offer a recommendation of a larger facility which might be able to accommodate your dogs . We are reaching out to you because we believe that you are making an incorrect assumption. The information that you say is not there, is the very first thing that pops up on our registration, which is required for any and all pets at our facility. It is also listed under our Lodging Requirements. ---------------------------------------------------- My Response to owner: 8/16/21 Ok, I see it now. But its not transparent in the sense of the vagueness. How about listing actual Breeds and weights or dimensions of the dogs that you don't allow. Your statement on your site is so vague and open ended. If I would have said "we do not allow pitbulls" I would not have filled out all the information for admission and wasted my time. We found another facility "Happy Paws Pet Resort" not any bigger than yours that does a temperament test trial with the dogs to see how they behave. And based on the personality of the dog and how well they get along with the others is wether they allow the dog to board with them or not. And just to let you know, they have great friendly service, don't discriminate agains breeds and both of my dogs had no temperament issue and will be boarding with them. Again, I see y'all allow Labradors and Golden Retrievers, and you have other large breeds in your pictures, so I know the discrimination is based on breed. Which if y'all really cared about animals you would know that Pitbulls are not dangerous dogs, shady dog owners are. Punish the deed not the breed. Have a wonderful day.

    Our dog completed her trial day and is now being boarded at Miss Emily's and I can't tell you how happy we are with this decision. They sent photos (see attached) where she clearly was having the time of her life and gave a report card as well. They're also very attentive and make sure they know everything about your dog before boarding: when to give which treats, medication and food schedules, anything and everything. When we brought her in for boarding today she was leaping and bounding towards the door because she couldn't wait to get in and have fun. So glad we found this place!!

    Me and my boyfriend are Orlando natives and could not survive without this place! Miss Emily's takes such great care of our pup Bosco. He has pretty bad separation anxiety and they take great care of him. He hurt his paw one day at doggy daycare and they were very attentive and got ahold of us immediately. We also left him with them for 7 days and they sent us a report card that made us feel so much more comfortable being gone. When we first got our puppers we knew it would be a lot of work, but Miss Emily's helps us make sure he gets the exercise, attention and love he needs while we're working, doing school work, or just need a day out of the house. Can not recommend this place enough!

    I've moved from Florida to New York a year ago, and I, well my pups, absolutely miss Miss Emily's. The boarding in my area does not compare! My dogs always looked happy at Miss Emily's, according to the photos that they will send to us. Upon entering the parking lot, they would go crazy as if they knew where they were, and they returned home exhausted. They haven't reacted the same to any boarding they've been at so far in NYC, and the energy from Miss Emily's employees made me felt at ease to leave my babies there. I will continue to search for a place that gives me the feeling that my pups are in good hands as Miss Emily's Bed and Biscuit did.

    Wednesday afternoon, 4 families lost their homes due to roofers damaging a water pipe and flooding…read morethe building. The city came and condemned the entire building by Wednesday night and we all had to leave. One family has lost everything, the other 3 have lost their homes. While the roofing company and the HOA that hired them are trying to figure out who is responsible, 4 families are looking for a new place to live for the foreseeable future. No relief has come from the roofing company nor the HOA to assist with those efforts. However, I have to tell you all about the amazing people at Magic Pet in Baldwin Park who looked past how busy they already are during the Christmas season, and decided to help the people. As soon as our home was condemned, around 6:30PM Wednesday night, I walked to Magic Pet and told them what had happened and that we needed a place to take our 2 dogs and 2 cats. I told them I didn't know how long they would be there and we needed help. The owner looked at me and said, "Bring Them. Bring Them. We are busy, but we are a community and we are here to help our community. Bring them." I almost cried as one stress was immediately lifted with no questions - just compassion and a willingness to help. If you ever need boarding or grooming services for your pets, they have always treated our sweet pups well - and they are treating the humans well also. While the roofing company and HOA are trying to save as much money as possible and continue to hold someone else responsible for the immense damage, the wonderful owner of Magic Pet made room and DID something to help.
