So I've been attending for the past three years. This year I brought with me someone who's never been. He's the barometer of my decision to go back next year or not. Truly I was bored this year. Last year was much better. In saying this it's not because of the lack of big-name sponsors but it's just the overall feel. We were here just this past Saturday. Everythings the same almost. The free Wendys long line, the very organized bus pick up and drop off. Of which company was impressed too. We watched a few competition namely whatever the games scheduled that day. Wendy's Snow BikeCross Elimination ( watched this). I wanted to support the athletes but dear God. I was bored to death and even company wanted to leave after and the whole time was saying he's lost and confused. Lol. After a few photos we left. Total stay about half hour to 45 minutes. Mostly looking for waters to buy. But this time there was a great addition. A water station. And it's free! Like everything else except the concert. Security is still tight as ever. This time no smokes of any kind at all! Yup if you put it in your mouth and it produces smoke and it's got nicotine or THC you're out of luck. So, why four stars? The athletes dude. They rock. The location. It's free of which there's very few things are now. Bring your kids. Come see the Whole set up for yourself. It's something to do and appreciate in life. read more

Went to my first X Games this year, and had a blast! I wasn't planning to hit the slopes, but still had quite an enjoyable time. The food and drink is pricy, but that's to be expected with an event of this magnitude. The snow was SO powdery this year, and the weather so nice. Can't wait to come back! read more

So, I'm writing this as a newbie to x games and most winter sport stuff. I enjoyed the events on Saturday. It was kind of a slow start with the snowmobile long jump and then the two hour wait for the snowmobile Superpipe female final and the big air ski event. Both of the final two events were fantastic and you could basically get a good view from anywhere. They also gave us a pretty solid beanie that saved my night lol Did I notice security? Yes and that's a good thing? Did it stop people from getting drunk and high? No. And by people I do mean the "Colorado teens" the other review mentioned. The drive back to aspen on the bus was full of really really dumb conversations so...I think the teens had their fun anyway. read more

I was really excited to attend my first xgames in Aspen but it has been extremely unorganized somehow, even though they've hosted this event for years. The ticketing system is absurd. You have to pay extra to have a slightly decent viewing spot. The xgames used to be free and have a live music lineup with big acts. This year is extra lame. You need to wait in very long lines to get a wristband for each closed of section of the event - If you want to stand under the heaters, if you want to go watch the dj, if you want to go grr a drink. I had 3 wristbands on my wrist at one point. it's. a huge waste of time and so chaotic. There is no real food vendors anywhere. No full bar. Its a ridiculous money grab. Maybe use the extra $$ the xgames got unnecessary corral viewing tickets to actually hire more people to make this event not a chaotic mess? There were barely any bathrooms to use and when you got in a porta potty they were completely full and there was no TP. truly disgusting. This is ASPEN people!!! This event should be top notch. The xgames organizers should be very embarrassed for the way this is set up. read more

Spent a Saturday afternoon at the X-Games last January. It was awesome to be there and see some of the events in person. We watched the Snowbile Long Jump, which was seemed a little disorganized from the crowd perspective. Also caught the women's Superpipe Finals and the Men's Big Air Ski event. We watched superpipe from the bottom with a huge crowd, and had a pretty good view the whole time. Went up the sides to watch Big Air Ski and it was freeeeezing up there and much steeper than I thought making it a little difficult to concentrate. These athletes are amazing, and worth taking the time to support! There are a lot of young people, a lot of drunk/ high people and the big crowds are sometimes annoying just like anywhere. It is what it is. I'm glad I experienced this once, but next time I may just watch from home. read more

Went after living nearby for a long time. What the heck is up with the lack of alcohol sales????? I'm not saying I wanted to get drunk but a) it's cold, a beer would help and b) hello? Money?? In addition, all the events and booths were poorly planned with hardly any thought to layout or patron desire- whoever the event coordinator is for this needs to be fired. Cannot believe I wasted time and money (I know the events are free but getting to Aspen and staying there ain't cheap) on this. Rather sit on my couch with a beer! read more
