Meaning your information isn't connected to multiple offices across the country - it's local, with your local preparers. I came here in tears after another Liberty Tax office in town ROYALLY screwed up my tax preparation thinking they were connected and someone could help me. I learned they weren't - but here's the thing - these folks helped me anyway. They refiled the entire thing - an amended return - and helped me sort out the current year's taxes. They reported the errors to the other office and officially removed my file from them and moved it over to their office. They helped me sort out how to think about planning for my taxes every year in the wake of a messy divorce and the need to operate as a single parent. EVERY SINGLE interaction was personable and professional - they care about making sure their clients are in the best position possible. On top of that - they provide preparation discounts for teachers, first responders and military and they give you some credits for client referrals. This year they helped me sort through (what I hope is the last) a year of messy continued divorce complications and come out in a manageable position. STAY AWAY FROM WALLACE TAX SERVICES!!!…read more Wallace tax service appeared to be a good fit given the price of the service, but after my experience, I understand the cost of the service. In essence, you get what you pay for. Not only was her dog in the home that is also her business, but the hair was everywhere. The place smelled of ash trays. Her pleasant demeanor was a warm comfort, however, when I noticed she was entering numbers that I corrected when I saw them on the screen, she explained that she needed eye surgery. It was clear that this might be an issue. When I did not get my return after it had been posted by the IRS and by the State of Virginia on Friday 2/23, I left a message for Ms. Wallace, which she returned Monday 2/26 after I left a second message. She did not apologize for her error nor did she provide the customer service I felt appropriate for the situation. She simply stated that she always showed the bank routing numbers and account numbers. I called IRS and found out that they would be sending me a check and that was not what I expected as I had time sensitive financial deadlines. I admit to trusting that she entered the information correctly because it was to have come directly from my check. She asked me was the account information the same from my last years H & R Block deposit. I was the same check, but it was not the same account information. Evidently H & R Block uses different account numbers as I called to confirm. Of course, instead of using my checking information from the check I presented, she copied from my return. Needless to say, I confirmed with H & R Block that she had used their info. My point.... I did not get my return and when I asked her for a refund of the $75.00 fee she refused stating she had showed me the place where the deposit was to go. It would have been right for LAST YEAR!!! I am a single parent who does not have additional income to pay for lack of competence. Do not, if you know what is best for you, use Wallace Tax Services! Allow this to be a warning to single parents who don't have money to waste waiting for money that is already yours.

I received an IRS NOTICE for the first time in my 34 years of paying taxes. The mistake was claiming my low earning children on my tax return, but then claiming them on each of their own returns. This is "taxes 101" and should never have happened. I am kicking myself for not reviewing the final products (all of the returns) closer. To their credit, Wallace Bookkeeping Service, LLC did amend the three returns of my children. However, I will not be utilizing their service in the future.

When I started to file my taxes I discovered they had my social security number incorrect. Another employee (that is still working there), said they put in the wrong address for his home which he has been living at for 5 years. Of course the excuse was "It was the prior Accountants fault." Which is bull. If I was going to be someone's new accountant I would be very cautious and proof read everything to be sure it is correct. I don't know if I would trust this company, but my prior employer is the one who makes the decision who he wants, so I will pray that as time goes on they make fewer mistakes.
