I really needed the right hinge fixed on my D&G sunglasses. What annoyed me was that I was overlooked for a couple both wearing glasses. I get it, it's a business that they needed to weight their time with who to spend the most time on. I don't know the woman's name but I was clearly there before the couple came in and at first she said it only needed a screw and a few min but then diverted her attention to the couple then left me hanging for literally for close to 15 minutes. It was only after I told her that I was double parked that she then told me to come back if I needed to attend to my car. I don't understand. Excellent service. I had a problem with my Maui Jims that I bought there three months ago yet I no longer had my receipt. They very readily took them back and replaced them on the spot. As a chef, who cooks food using 6 grills at a time can be dangerous. As a business owner located on the same block as Wise vision, you'd expect a level of comradery, being part of the same small knit community. Losing my contact lens was an emergency and the fact I had to continue cooking for customers with one eye open, wasn't an ideal situation to say the least. Inspite my pleas, the staff @Wise were unsympathetic to my plight, insisting I pay $$ for an eye exam. Knowing not having a back up pair and understanding every optical has the same policy, only most would overlook on acct of being human, I was aware the fault lied w/ me. What made me upset, wasn't the policy, it was the "go fu#% yourself" attitude I received. Nonetheless I decided to have my sister (optician in Fl) fax over my RX to Wise out of pure convenience and lack of time. BUT I WAS THEN TOLD I had to ORDER A BOX of contacts, in order to receive the "emergency lens" AND leave a deposit. WTF? Ok, this is extortion, but I get it, I'm very vulnerable and desperately need the lens, so sure. The lady, with the nastiest attitude said she needed a deposit, as if I'd stiff her, so I left 70% It's true, I never remembered to go back and pick them up, def not because I didn't need them, but merely because running a restaurant is tireless, overwhelming work. 4-5 months later they L/M, again with a very , "hi, this is Wise Vision, COME PICK UP UR SHIT" attitude. When I called, the lady said they were making room for new inventory and needed my box gone soon. Somehow this 2x2 inch box was in their way of making room for other things. I explained I'd go as soon as I returned from my first 3 days off since 2012 and I did. The box had vanished. Honestly, I completely understand everything from their end and it kills me to give another fellow business a bad review, but it was the manner in which Wise treated me and ultimately how the entire interaction got me so pissed I had to to say something. I'm leaving 3 stars instead of 1 so I don't get the finger every time I walk by. read more

Dr. Larsen is the best eye doctor I've ever been to! She's super personable and very well informed. When we were discussing new contact lenses, she had me try a pair for two weeks before having me commit to buying them which was great. Walked into this location after waking up with my eyes red. The staff was very professional and set up an appointment with the eye doctor immediately. I was seen by the doctor within 30 minutes of my arrival. The doctor did an examination of my eye and it was a bad allergies. Appointments are easy to schedule. I needed new contacts and also new glasses. Eddie helped me for more than 2 hours when they were closing (I'm really picky) and not once did he recommend I come back another day or push me out. From the outside it appears to have not been updated since the 1980's, but their selection of frames is actually one of the best in town. They were honest about this, gave me pricing on what they could do to lower the costs (with rebates, etc.), and told me what steps I'd have to take to find a quality provider covered by my plan. I was walking by and needed a pair of sunglasses. I walked into the store and immediately felt welcomed. The staff there was so helpful and friendly. I have been getting my contact lenses and glasses from Wise Vision and Hearing for the past 13 years or so. I have always had excellent service. Even, over the years, when through my own fault I was in a bind -- such as not having contacts to go on vacation because I failed to notice my supply had run out -- they have scrambled to help me out and get the contacts to me fast. When after about 10 years I thought I needed a new pair of glass frames because mine appeared to be falling apart, they told me to wait while they adjusted my glasses and made them like new. They could have sold me an expensive new frame, but instead they did the right thing. I especially like Sarah, who has been there the whole time and really knows her stuff. I really love supporting the local small business idea too. I probably could get a more bargain price by ordering my contacts online or finding some discount at Costcos or something, but the personal touch is really charming. I run into people I know in the community in Wise. In a spirit of supporting their customers and the community, they also always take out a generous ad in the program for our women's community choral concerts and post the information about our concerts in the windows too. That kind of personal interaction is worth it to me. It's the kind of way we used to do business in the past in small times, before everything grew so corporate and impersonal. Up until this past week, I would have given them the 4-star "Yay, I'm a fan" rating due to the fact that I thought the optometrist was just okay, adequate, but not exceptional. However, for this review, I've bumped it up to the 5-star "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" rating due to the fact that the new optometrist (as of my recent visit, December 2011) is really wonderful. My eyes have finally been changing after years and years of having the same prescription. I need a reading distance now and a middle distance. I felt like my eyes were so messed up that I needed special help, perhaps to go to a top-notch ophthalmologist. When I couldn't get an appointment with the ophthalmologist for months, and I needed new contacts sooner than that, I made the appointment with the optometrist on staff at Wise. I was very impressed with his knowledge. He found just the right solution for me with the contacts and for the first time in two years I was able to participate in a choral rehearsal and sit at my computer without reading glasses! I hope they keep this guy because they do tend to turn over the optometrists. I think I have had 4 different ones since I started there, and I would have liked a little continuity with the person examining my eyes. read more

This place screwed up on my contacts and glasses multiple times and never took responsibility for their staff mistakes or gave me a refund. Don't go there you will be just disappointed! I had come in and had a pair glasses adjusted. While i was waiting one of the elderly women help me look at glasses. As i was asking questions the other girl seemed lost answering my questions as she was scared. She mentioned she has been in the field nine years but doesn't know the different type of lens that were out in the market. The other lady comes out with my glasses a lot more dirtier then from what i gave it to them and this lady had food in her mouth from her and spitting on the counter and on the phone with her son. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!! I assume Yaneli saw my digested face and took over and apologized for the other two women. She had me sit down and explain the lens options as she gave my glasses a scrupulously cleaning. She was even kind enough to pull out my insurance and explain the best ways to use my insurance to be able to get the full benefit from it. She showed me numerous of frames but i never felt pressure on choosing expensives frames. She was honest on which one looked right on me and which one didn't. I can honestly say because of this young girl Wise Vision just got a new patient but i will only deal with her.
