I needed two windshields, one for an RV (Safco ins.) and the other for my car (Farmers). I put off getting the windshields when they were cracked because both companies wanted me to use Safelite and they couldn't get me in for weeks. I was told that both vehicles had to be calibrated because of blah blah blah. Honestly, who has the time to shlep vehicles from one location to the next and wait for 3 hours (time I was given by Safelite) if it isn't truly necessary. Don't get me started on Safelite, they would get zero stars. Back to the star of the show. WISECRACK! Unless you experience this customer service for yourself you wouldn't believe it...it's THAT GOOD. George drove to two different locations the day before to view the vehicles and get the vin # to be sure with regard to the "calibration" issue. WHO DOES THAT???? I called Wisecrack when I needed to replace my factory original 2013 Acura RDX windshield. George answered all my questions. I wanted OEM glass but learned that full auto glass insurance coverage usually won't pay the (big $ in this case) extra cost for OEM when the car is more than a few years old. His advice was clear and honest, which I later confirmed with my insurance company and by researching online pricing for uninstalled OEM glass. He was easy to call, very responsive, flexible about scheduling, came to my house exactly on time and replaced my windshield with an aftermarket that looked and fit exactly like the original. I'm a shade tree mechanic and have always done all my own repairs and service except when special tools and experience are needed like windshields and tire mounting/balancing. So I'm really picky. It is no exaggeration to say that his workmanship was excellent and nobody could have done a better job on what appeared to be a moderately difficult replacement. I would trust him with rare or exotic cars. Tragically, days after getting my wife a new car, we got stuck behind a gravel truck on I-10 and were pelted with little stones. One of these stones cracked our brand new windshield. Luckily, it was not in my field of view, however, I do know that it is best to repair these with resin so they don't spread and get worse. Due to a middle-of-the-night suicidal owl encounter at 80mph, our windshield was shattered. After doing extensive research of a windshield replacement company and tint, I came across Wisecrack. I gave them a call and was told they didn't do tint but they quickly referred someone. This made me confident in choosing them for my windshield replacement. Well, after some discussion, the call dropped. They never asked for my info in order to start the process. Therefore, I was left having to start over with my story. I called back and was transferred to some other company that had no clue what I was talking about. Called again and it went to VM so left one. Shortly after, I received a text informing me to process a claim through my insurance then we'd schedule an appointment. Keep in mind, an appointment slot had already been reserved for me. I've done several windshield claims in the past and I have never been asked to do my own claim. This place is located right behind Habitat for Humanity store but it's a hidden entrance to the plaza, just off side street past the Habitat store . I did my research before selecting Wisecrack, as we have a new 2019 Honda Pilot and had an annoying crack in our windshield that kept growing and growing. We went with them, as the reviews, not only on Yelp, but also on our Nextdoor Neighbor online community, were very good. Before calling my insurance company I called and talked with George, and he was very professional and answered all my questions. After filing the claim, I heard back from him and we scheduled the replacement. It was particularly concerning to us, as we have all the gadgetry/technology in the upper part of the windshield and knew it had to be recalibrated after replacing the windshield. It was good to know that Wisecrack was not only approved by our insurance company, but had the equipment to do the recalibration. We're please so far, after two weeks with the new windshield. I would've given them 5 stars, but the repair location was very, very hard to find. On top of that, my cell phone wasn't working so I almost ended cancelling, even though I had the address. I was able to find the repair location, and it's in a new industrial/office area. It was very nice, but just a little weird, as there were a series of offices but none belonging to Wisecrack I assume. Just know that part of the process is a little funky. However the 'waiting area' is nice, with a new TV, coffee maker and cold water available. I'd recommend them with those caveats! read more
