This is such a great little studio! I recently came here for the Hot 26 class with Patty and left feeling completely rejuvenated. The room was nice and toasty for class, and the instructor guided us through a series of poses that cleared my mind from a hectic day of work. Bonus: The studio is next to a gorgeous lake that you can feast your eyes on for some post-workout meditation. I came through ClassPass, but it looks really easy to sign up online, etc. read more

Where do I begin. Well, after driving from NJ to Raleigh NC area, I needed some yoga. I am fairly new to yoga but after doing about 10 classes, my joints feel better. My buddy in NJ got me hooked on hot yoga and so far I've taken about 7-8 of hot yoga classes too. Now in NJ hot yoga is a dry heat. Fast forward to NC and the hot yoga at Firefly is another animal. The room is heated with like humidifier steam...you can literally see the steam in the room. When class starts the steamers are turned off and that heat is on in that room! I saw 2 other objects in the room and maybe some heat was coming from them too. Oh did I mention the temperature outside was already about 95 degrees. I think the room itself was 100 degrees. The instructor William was amazing. He has a very calming voice and because the class was so intimate he knew I was never in his class and another woman as well. She was from Philly and I was the Jersey girl. William welcomes you and makes you feel very comfortable. We progressed through the moves slowly but intensely. William also walked around the room to correct form and help you to get deeper into the stretch. When the class was done corpse pose aka: savasana felt so GOOD! I loved the ice cold towel they give each student at the end. The studio is hidden. At first I thought my GPS was wrong. Have you ever seen the movie Deliverance? Yes, think that movie. The studio is inside of a like country club/retirement community/pool house...just weird but it's beautiful. The yoga place when you walk in is on the left and there is an attendant at the desk. There are locker rooms and showers...the yoga room is upstairs door on the right. I purchased a 2 week deal for $25. I am in town for 3 days but you can't beat the deal. So if in the Cary/Raleigh area check them out and make sure you're able to take the heat! Good place very good place. read more

Yoga instructors: Sinead, Karley, Christine.... all AWESOME! I'm sure the other instructors here are great as well, but I haven't had the pleasure of attending one of their sessions yet. Firefly Hot Yoga is fantastic, and I recommend you check it out. Firefly has a convenient website for signing up for a class, checking the class schedule, etc.. www.fireflyhotyogacary.com You can just call to sign up for a class too. They currently have a New Student Discount of 3 classes for $24 (good for 4 weeks after purchase). That's a great deal at $8 per class considering the normal price of $15. I have mainly attended the 90 minute, "Hot 26" class, but I have also tried the 90 minute "Barkan Hot Yoga" class too. Both are equally great. The Sunday 10 AM slot only seems to have about 2 to 6 people generally (plus instructor), so it's a small intimate group, with room for more. There is a locker room with showers, so you can shower afterwards. **typing review from a one armed handstand split and backbend variation** :P I was a total yoga noob, when I first attended a session here several months ago. I decided to try yoga because I felt it would be a nice addition to my daily strength training regimen. WOW, I was right, it sure is! I try to make a 90 min. sesh a weekly thing now. Why HOT yoga, you ask?... well the heat really seems to loosen up the body to maximize the benefits of the stretch. My daily job as a commercial construction project manager unfortunately involves a lot of desk/computer time, resulting in an unhappy lower back, tight hips, and sometimes poor posture. Yoga has improved my flexibility already and has really seemed to help open up my chest and loosen up the hips. Shakira has it right, "The hips don't lie!" My lower back pain issues in the past seem to come and go periodically, but since I started yoga my back has felt much better. Coincidence? I think not! This yoga studio is a hidden gem in Cary. What I learned by going here tonight is to never judge a book by its cover! As I listen to my GPS guide me to the studio I was thinking to myself..... I'm not so sure about this. The area is very safe and amongst a residential neighborhood in Cary . The studio is nestled in the same building as a racquetball club and several other small businesses. The building itself is very old and needs some updating. Moving onto the good stuff...... I make my way in and I'm met by the nicest girl who is very knowledgeable and greeted me graciously. From there, I ascend a winding staircase to a modest studio. From the moment I stepped in I knew I made a good choice, it had such an amazing vibe. Everything from the lighting to the murals on the wall were so inviting. The class was one of the best I've ever taken and flowed with perfect timing and ease. Side note..... it was also one of the hardest workouts I've ever done! The instructor of the evening was Shirley, and she had a calm amazing energy and strength about her. I really enjoyed her class. At the end she came around to each student and shared some some essential oil helping to deepen relaxation and stillness. And this of course was followed by every yogis favorite part of class the cool lavender towel :) ahhh I will definitely be returning here for more! Thank you read more

Went to my first class at Firefly today and really enjoyed it. I was over on this side of town and was dying for a hot yoga class. I've heard about Firefly from some other Yelpers and they highly recommended it, I wasn't disappointed. Firefly is located in the Kildaire Farms Racquet and Swim Club. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I walked in. There was plenty of signage for Firefly and easy to find where to check in as soon as I walked through the door. The racquet club itself is pretty outdated and the space is not that nice to look at but I really just wanted a good work out so no biggie. I purchased the new student deal 3 classes for $24 which is good for a month. It's a good deal, they also offer a $29 unlimited for a consecutive week for new students. Their pricing is pretty similar to the other studios in Raleigh,their drop in price is $15 (that doesn't include a mat) according to their website you can rent a mat for an additional $2. I really wish they offered towels even if you have to pay for them. You are able to use the locker rooms for the racquet club which is great if you need to shower or use a locker. I took the 75 min Hot Power Vinyasa with Patty tonight and she was fantastic. There were only 3 other people in the class which was a nice break from the usual mat to mat classes I'm use to. The 75 minutes flew by and Patty was great with instruction. I really enjoyed the opportunity to do some inversions and some new poses I've never done before. The class was challenging yet relaxing at the same time. The heat in the room was pretty spot on and you will definitely sweat in these classes. I also enjoyed the dim lighting in the room it was a nice setting. I'm looking forward to checking out some more classes and meeting the other instructors. You won't find another hot yoga studio like Firefly in Cary. If you are new to Hot Yoga this would be a great place to check out, the instructors seem very hands on and the owner I met when I checked in was very friendly.This studio will definitely be my go to in Cary. read more

As someone who has only done Hot Yoga a few times I found this studio very inviting. My instructor Rachel (who also owns the studio) was extremely helpful and welcoming. What I enjoyed most was she did the poses along with us instead of just saying the poses so we knew what we had to do. She also gave us variations to do if we were unable to fully do a pose. To be honest I felt more comfortable and at ease at Firefly than I have at the other studios I have tried. I will definitely be going back. Firefly Yoga is a wonderful studio to begin, continue, or deepen your practice. I began almost 8 months ago and have not stopped since! Despite growing from a yogi noob to a yogi lover, Hot 26 is ALWAYS my favorite class on Thursday nights, instructed by the owner, Patty. Her husband man's the front desk on Thursday and has always had a smile on his face with great customer support. Their staff try to be as flexible as possible to work with you and I appreciate them for that. Their website is easy to navigate with great descriptions of each class and their instructors. The scheduling site is a great asset. There are locker rooms with a hot tub and sauna attached. These are great to utilize before and/or after classes! Their Hot Power Vinyasa is another great class that allows you to learn and work on new moves and stands that can strengthen your muscles and encourage you for a greater workout. The Hot Flow class is a fun one and gets you to try different variations of poses depending upon what you like to do. No pressure to do what you do not want to do. All of the classes encourage you to move at your own pace and to not go overboard. The instructors also come to you personally and help you get the position right to allow you to feel how the 'correct-none-harmful' position should go. This is a great help! Mehgan and Patty also help to massage you into the proper settlement of the positions as well (my fave)! The room is typically heated anywhere from 100 - 104 degrees. Attending heated yoga sessions allows for settling into positions deeper than a normal yoga class. These classes are also set up to flow more into the moves rather than stop and pose. This allows you to stretch and tone those hard to reach muscles. The instructors walk and talk you throughout the entire class to make sure you know what to flow into. All of the instructors also keep a great eye on you to make sure you at not pushing yourself too far in this heated environment. The instructors are genuine and create a fun but peaceful environment to move within as they tell you what to move into. I always leave with a smile on my face and softer skin! I also sleep like a baby on these nights! Hot yoga has allowed me to get rid of back and shoulder tension that has caused me so much pain over the past few years. Be sure to eat a good-sized lunch on the days you are going to class. Also drink plenty of WATER before the class to make sure you are hydrated. Otherwise, dizziness will set in easily during the class. After class, I suggest drinking homemade FRUIT WATER (blend strawberries, a lemon or orange, coconut water, and raw honey together). This creates an electrolyte blend to replace the salt and minerals you release through the sweat. This also removes the chance of you getting a headache after class that is caused by dehydration and loss of electrolytes. This studio has knowledgeable instructors who love what they do! They create a sense of community with everyone who enters. I moved and know there is a hot yoga studio down the road, but I just cannot bring myself to leave. read more

Firefly Hot Yoga is a welcoming studio with excellent instructors. I have to modify poses due to two artificial knees but they are extremely helpful. I do not feel self conscious because the energy of this studio is truly one where you feel that your Yoga practice is what you need it to be that day. I was nervous to try hot yoga at first, but I took one class with Patty and absolutely loved it. I have now been doing hot yoga for over a year and a half and am hooked! What makes Firefly Hot Yoga so great is the instructors. They have an amazing team with each instructor having their own unique style. They offer a variety of classes allowing you to find one (or several) that fit your level and preference for type of yoga. The instructors give you personal attention and are able to give modifications with the various poses. They are extremely knowledgeable and have a lot of experience that shows in their classes. I love that the classes are always different, and you will never get bored with doing the say thing every week. The classes can be challenging, invigorating, relaxing, and most of all fun.
