I booked my first session with Kimberly. I had heard good things about doing hot yoga. I've been doing yoga on and off for about 2 years. The studio was very comfortable, well, except that it was HOT . The energy in the room was very good. There were several other men in the studio, and everyone was very respectful of the space. The practice was very effective and brought me to a good place mentally and physically. They facility is impeccably clean and well managed. They have locker rooms and showers that were a nice amenity for cleaning up after your practice. They have several options and price packages. I will definitely be returning. read more

Having recently moved to the Raleigh area from FL, I was concerned that I would not find a studio of equal calibar to the one I was a member of in Tampa. After looking hard and long for a hot yoga studio offering Bikram and Hot 26, I settled on on Indigo, and am I glad I did. Indigo is a class A studio. Claudine, the owner, is personable and friendly, not to mention an excellent teacher. She brings her all to every class with clear instruction and high energy. MY FAVORITE YOGA STUDIO IN RALEIGH! And here's a couple reasons why: 1. The instructors/owners/yogis/people are simply amazing. I've never felt more loved at a place for someone they don't really know. They also give you one hell of a class. I've had some of the hardest workouts of my life here and I've also had some of the chillest, fill good classes. They have everything you would want. 2. It is definitely HOT yoga. Probably the hottest yoga in Raleigh BUT I love that and if it gets too hot, they do a cool blast to help out. 3. I've seen many comments about the studio and the studio floor. The studio overall is very equipped, they have mats and towels if you need them and the have a great locker room with showers. The yoga studio floor does not bother me, i guess it may have a stench but i don't think its overwhelming. ALSO, DURING YOGA AREN'T YOU ONLY SUPPOSE TO FOCUS ON YOURSELF AND HOW YOU ARE IN THE MOMENT?? Ignore distractions, people, places, just be there in the moment. I've been taking classes from the owner Claudine for close to ten years now. I first took a class with her at Open Door Raleigh back in maybe 2009 or so. I followed her from there to another studio or two before she opened Indigo. She is super knowledgable about yoga especially the Barkan methodology. She teaches a challenging class that will be sure to make you sweat and leave with that hot yoga high you are looking for. She is good at offering modifications for beginners, demos poses when needed and has a great playlist to go long with the class. One of the best teachers in Raleigh for sure. The studio is always super clean with nice showers and overall facilities. Since it's relatively new they also have a great balance between heat and humidity with good ventilation. The rest of the teachers are all really good too. They offer mats, towels and I love the eye towels at the end of class. A great touch for hot yoga. Best hot studio in the city, easily. read more

I really didn't want to write this review, but I feel like I had to. I picked this location based on Yelp reviews and was shocked when I arrived. The locker room area is very small and dirty. When I went into the yoga studio, I was appalled - I've never smelled anything like it in my life. I've been to a *lot* of hot yoga studios over the years - including many bikram. Never have I smelled sweat and feet so overpowering that I thought that I was going to be sick. I wasn't sure if I could stay a whole hour there, but I needed a good stretch. After being in class for a while, I noticed the flooring - some sort of woven wicker material. Given the number of people dripping sweat in there every day, no wonder it stinks! There's no way that they could clean the floor - there are so many nooks and crannies. Nowhere near sanitary. The teacher was mediocre. Not once did she walk around the room or provide adjustments. I was very disappointed and won't be returning. read more

After finally becoming a true yogi of Indigo Hot Yoga I've gotta say I've fallen in love with this studio. Not once have I been to a class that is the same. Each instructor changes it up time & time again. I never get bored. I'm constantly challenged in my workout and feel so comfortable here. Occasionally I like to drop in for a Hot Yoga session when I feel like really getting my stretch and sweat on. Indigo Hot Yoga Center is my top choice in the Raleigh/Durham area. I have only attended weekend sessions here, and the room fills up so expect to have your yoga mat very close to others around you and get there a little early. A drop in session is about $13. If you are a regular, you can save a lot by getting a monthly plan. All of the instructors that I have experienced are really nice and very good. Typically there is an excellent mix of music played throughout the sessions, which varies by instructor. There are showers in the locker/changing rooms for your use afterwards. My favorite part of Indigo is near the end of the session when the instructor hands everyone a very cool, damp, lavender-scented towel to place over your face, on your head, or neck. After 75 to 90 minutes of 100+ degree Vinyasa Flow, that towel is heavenly! Check it out. Namaste~ read more

So I've never done hot yoga before just because I don't like being too hot and I always thought that hot yoga is a little bit pricey. However, I started realizing that I really need to start working out if I don't want to have belly fat(ah gotta love attending our yelp events..;) get to eat all of awesome food in the Triangle!). I wish I could be more committed but I am too lazy to go to my apartment's free gym everyday, so long story short(of course after I did some yelpping), I decided to try Indigo Hot Yoga. Indigo had some good reviews, very close to my place and their unlimited pass wasn't that bad(and if you are a student/military, they will give you discount!). I checked their class schedule online and decided to take 5:30pm class yesterday(Saturday). I arrived there around 5:10pm and that shopping area was so full. Indigo was very cute little place and it was very close to parking deck entrance. As soon as I walked in, Katie(she was the instructor for yesterday's class) greeted me and explained about their class, schedule and unlimited pass. So this was my literally first time taking Hot Yoga class. I was sweating the whole time while I was taking my class and man, actually that felt pretty good. I had to stop few times and drink my water but I loved stretching my body, listening to relaxing music and ahhh that lavender towel!!! So many people mentioned about lavender towel in their reviews and yesss now I know why.. So they give this cold lavender towel at the end of the class and ah you really need to try this.. it felt amazing. I put that cold towel on my face and did not move but just enjoy that feeling for a while. It was such a great feeling. Overall, my first Hot Yoga experience at Indigo was great- loved their class, staff were friendly, decent unlimited pass deal, and loved that lavender towel at the end of the class so much! I ended up getting unlimited pass and I am so excited to take more classes here at Indigo! I def recommend others to try Indigo's Hot Yoga class if you haven't yet! read more

This studio has a lot going for it: great location in Cameron Village, talented instructors, relaxing yet motivating ambiance, a more trendy music playlist, and a challenging workout that gives you the feeling that you got your money's worth! I really wish I could give Indigo 5 stars, because it is one of the most decent yoga studios I've found in Raleigh. I reserve that 5th star, however, for the places that completely blow me away. So what is it about this place that didn't completely sweep me off my feet? Honestly, I think I felt a slight disconnect. When I take a yoga class, I like to feel personally connected. I like it when the instructors tell you their name at the beginning of class and then give you a little personal attention throughout so you don't just feel like another customer. At this point I've taken 3 classes at indigo and I still don't know the name of the instructor I had all 3 times (and I'm sure she doesn't know my name either). I really like this place... much hotter than other yoga studios I've been to. The instructors are really positive and encouraging! I haven't been to a class that was poorly led or unorganized. The room itself is fairly big and has a large frosted window at one side. This is actually nice, because the room is almost divided for those who either prefer a lighter or darker environment. You can tell they work hard to keep the studio and facilities as clean as they possibly can (which is a HUGE plus for me). The ONLY constructive criticism I have is their lack of space during weekend classes. I understand this is more revenue for them (which I'm totally supportive of!) but I would be willing to pay more for a class that has a smaller maximum participation... just a thought :) read more

What's not to say that's already been said? I've actually done a lot of hot yoga and yoga in my former life (pre-raleigh) and I loved it! After getting back into the swing of things at a local gym, I began to realize that turning 29 was kicking my butt, and I needed to 'turn the heat up' (cheap pop) if I wanted to get back to looking like my former fine self. I had planned on going to yoga at my gym this morning, but alas my snooze button proved to be too powerful. I hopped on Yelp and a few minutes later I had reserved a mat for the 12:00 class, the Hot 26. I am do happy I did. The hour flew by, and my instructor was wonderful. She took her time to adjust people and made it a calming environment but still got us a workout. Finishing off class with a cool lavender towel hit the spot. They do have locker rooms with showers, and the vibe of the whole place is very relaxed and welcoming. There are also a number of different types of classes, all available with a description on their website so you know what you are getting yourself into. One of the nicest things is that there are monthly plans and per class plans ($13) which is perfect for someone like me who struggles with consistency. You can also rent a mat if you don't have your own. I will definitely be back! read more

I had seen Indigo Hot Yoga because it's right next to my favorite smoothie place. But given that I was pregnant when they opened and then responsible for the life a newborn, it took a little while before I was able to experience their facility. I jumped at the chance when I saw a Living Social deal and when my 4 discounted classes were up, I promptly signed up for a monthly membership. Indigo is great. I had previously only been to one other hot yoga studio in the area (also from a Living Social discount and I did NOT sign up for additional classes), so I only have one other place as a basis for comparison. Instead, I'll just tell you what I like about Indigo: 1. It hardly has any "funk" to it. They use an antibacterial floor which looks like a bunch a spaghetti noodles and the place is always so clean. The lack of smell when many, many people sweat profusely day in and day out is proof. 2. The locker rooms are nice sized, have nice finishes (granite counters, tile floor, etc) and they provide shampoo, conditioner and soap in the shower. It's one less thing I have to tote around and worry about forgetting. I love the minty soap provided - so refreshing after a hot yoga class. 3. The class times are great and the classes themselves are varied. I love the choice available and as the mom to a now 6 month old, being able to do yoga out during my lunch break or late in the day (8 pm) is pretty much the only way it gets done. I will say that if anyone from Indigo is reading this, I would LOVE it if you would make the 8 am Saturday class a permanent one and not just during teacher training. 4. The staff is so friendly and very helpful during class. If I could improve a pose, they come over and offer light and quiet adjustments. There are also plenty of modifications described if you aren't able to get to the full expression of a pose. 5. At the end of the class you are provided with an chilled 100% organic lavender towel. It is really the best experience ever after you've just twisted, bent, and sweat your little heart out. read more

I found this studio on yelp, not from Raleigh and visiting from Charlotte I wanted to check out local yoga studios while I was in town for the week. Staff are very friendly and warm. The first time I dropped in for a walk in, the sweet instructor said the room may smell bad because I'm teaching my fourth class today. "It's me not the room, all chuckled" OK gotta say worst smelling room I have ever encountered in my life. I felt like I could just get used to it and push through. I did finish and was extremely sweaty and had a vigorous workout. Super happy to get clean air in my lungs as I exited the studio. Second visit I hoped for a fresher smell. Perhaps it was the sweet yogi sweat of the teacher on #4 of the day....NO it smelled worse this visit. The floor is some sort of plastic spaghetti material that cannot be mopped. The warrior women around me were strong like Bulls, sweating and dripping and were quite strong. Can they not smell? The lovely instructor would say breathe in and breathe out. OMG how can I this is insane. I think if the studio hired some tolerant men in hazmat suits they could rip up this flooring and replace it with flooring that can be disinfected and mopped it would be great! read more

Would give it 4.5 stars if I could! Indigo is a wonderful hot yoga center in a nice, central location. From the moment I stepped in, everyone was friendly, open, non-judgmental, and serious about their practice. The studio is very clean, with a neat easy-to-clean floor, doesn't smell like stale funk (!!), and has a mirror for easy viewing. There's a pillar in the middle of the class which might make it hard for some to follow the instructor but the mirror helps. Getting to class early also helps! Come early, especially for the lunchtime class, because they do start on the dot and you will be locked out (learned this the hard way). The flow here is awesome! The vinyasa class features a variety of asanas and variations for beginners through advanced. The room is certainly hot enough to work up a serious sweat but not overwhelmingly so. Wish I lived in Raleigh again so I could come here regularly. You might be reeling at the cost ($129 unlimited monthly unless you're a student or military, $13/class) but it really is worth it if you're serious about furthering your practice. read more

I can't say enough about how much I love this place! Here are a few of my reasons: The instructors are wonderful. They are all very genuine and passionate about their practice and their students. No uppity attitudes to be found here. The schedule is varied. They offer a very wide range of classes at a wide range of times. There is always something to fit my mood and schedule for any particular day. The studio is always so so clean and smells nice. Huge plus! Music! Maybe not everyone will appreciate this, but they play music during almost all of the classes. Not only meditative either. I have heard everything from the Beatles to some hip hop. I truly love this and enjoy that it gives me something to focus on other than the heat! If you haven't, you definitely need to check them out. read more

I don't practice enough, partially because no studio has really hooked me yet, but Indigo has me hooked! The studio itself is nice, clean, and smells surprisingly great for a hot yoga place. You are always greeted by someone extra friendly, and a nice variety of classes is offered. The teachers themselves are excellent as far as cueing and adjustments, and they'll make you work! Lastly, I super embarrassingly got a nosebleed toward the end of my last class and the instructor was really sweet about it, and checked on me until I was able to quietly pack my things and leave. I love Indigo! The teachers are amazing and so sweet! You can tell they are very passionate about their practice and teaching. The studio is very clean. And there is no sweaty and stinky smell what so ever. It always smells clean and fresh and the studio has a great atmosphere. The temp is perfect and I love how big and open the room is. You have plenty of room on your mat and you don't have to worry about knocking someone out with an arm or leg. They also offer different types of classes so if you aren't into the full 90 minutes or you get bored with the static postures they offer flow classes as well as 60 minute classes that are intense and will def give you a great workout. Another great hot yoga class! I attended my second community yoga class today for $5. On Saturdays they have two community classes: 1:30pm and 7pm. Sometimes there is a Sunday afternoon one so the accessibility option is great. One of the reasons Indigo impresses me with their community classes is that they educate about a different charity that the community funds go towards. For example, last month was Autism Society. When I attended last month, it was a flow class. Today's was the Hot 26. Traditional Hot Yoga is a series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises designed to be practiced on a room heated to 100-105 degrees. Kim and Sarah were the training teachers teaching the class. Kim taught the first half and Sarah taught the second. I was really impressed with the smooth transition and their ability to explain each move or posture, its yoga name, and then guide us through the breathing/hold process. I think I liked Hot 26 better than flow, but each presented their own unique set of appeals, benefits, and challenges. I'm looking forward to incorporating more kinds of yoga, including hot yoga, into my practice. read more

From the moment I walked in the door at the studio, I felt welcome. Staff are all very friendly and easy to talk to, and the prices are very reasonable. I didn't spend much time in the locker room, but it seemed clean. The exterior and general facade of the facility overall was nice. Once the yoga session started, I really started to sweat. It is hotter than most hot yoga studios (the hotter the better!), but as others have remarked, there is a slight smell to the room and the flooring does make you wonder about the cleanliness. The instructor was friendly during the session, but I don't like it when they stop an entire class for water. It really alters the flow of the class, especially if some people are getting into a groove and are ready to progress further into different poses. One of the most disappointing aspects was that there were no adjustments made during the class. There was no individualized attention and there wasn't much verbal detail given as to alignment. I also didn't care for the music, however, I am sure different instructors choose different music to suit their tastes. Lastly, I don't really understand why these lavender towels are such a big deal in the reviews? This is standard practice at most studios. I have gone to a few hot yoga classes over the years, and I have to say this is one of the most mediocre experiences I have had. It was a semi-challenging "fitness class" not the intense, mentally and spiritually challenging hot yoga experience that I have achieved elsewhere. I would go again if a friend invited me, but I would be less likely to go there on my own volition. read more

Indigo is great! As a new studio, Indigo has been really receptive to feedback and willing to adapt their schedule and class offerings based on client suggestions. I love hot vinyasa classes, and Indigo is one of the few studios that offers them. The teachers are amazing- engaging, knowledgeable, and willing to help/correct students. The studio is clean and doesn't perpetually smell like sweat (like some other hot yoga studios I've visited). The classes have an awesome flow. You will definitely get an awesome workout, but also leave feeling mentally and physically relaxed. I have to say, though, the best part of my experiences at Indigo is the cold lavender towel you receive during the last few minutes of the class to put over your face. Indigo Hot Yoga Center is my happy place. Everyone here is an absolute gem and even though you're in a 106-degree room, it's hard not to smile. The instructors have awesome energy (of course they do, they're yoga teachers!), and are happy to answer any questions you might have. I love this place because they play music at the same time. You rarely ever feel awkward, and even if you are exhausted, NO ONE judges you for just laying down on your mat. We tried our first class of Vinyasa Flow here today. Whew...hot is no joke! First the place is very nice. Everyone was welcoming including our instructor Justin Anne (great music choices). The yoga room is large and comfortable. However, they may need to expand if they get anymore folks. Great crowd and supportive of us newbies. I felt great and nervous at the same time to finally take a class. I will say that it's not for the feint of heart. However, it is challenging in the greatest way. I didn't feel like I "HAD" to do ALL the moves. Encouragement= YES! Made to feel like I was dragging the class = NO! We will definitely be back and oh the lavender towels after class? Visiting from South Florida I decided to try this studio on recommendation. I got there really early for the 10:00 am class. The studio sign said closed but I figured it was because a class was in session and I was correct. The door opened once the previous class ended. I introduced myself to the owner, who was also teaching that class. She was so warm, friendly and really made me feel at home. It was super easy to rent a mat, towels and get water. The 75-minute class was amazing. The heat level was perfect for ne, I prefer it hot. The studio room is bright and the flooring has a little give to it, making inversions comfortable. I highly recommend this studio. There's also a few healthy lunch spots in the same plaza for after class. read more

Came here for my first yoga class and after paying was left to fend for myself. In a room with over 30 people, I was the only person wearing a mask (including even the instructor!). Absolutely no consideration given to physical distancing- people in the studio were packed in barely 2 feet from one another- this place should be shut down! read more

I've been to most of the hot studios around here, and this is my favorite. Beautiful, spacious, non-smelly studio space with excellent ventilation. Instructors are ALL excellent and music is played on great sound system in every class, even the hot 26 Bikram style which makes all the difference for me. Each class rewards you at the conclusion with an icy cold lavender soaked towel for your face while you rest in your well-earned Savasana. 30 days of this yoga will change your life....:) read more

I moved to Raleigh from Boston recently and was so worried about finding a good hot yoga studio. Having practiced Bikram for the past six years, I am pretty set in my ways and hard to please, but I love Indigo ! The 60 Minute Power Yoga is really challenging and incorporates a lot of my favorite Bikram postures (there are NO good Bikram studios in Raleigh). The instructor was awesome, the studio clean and has excellent amenities, and the cherry on top is that you get a lavendar scented frozen cold washcloth brought to you at the end of class. I was in heaven. I'd highly recommend the studio and this class for any picky yogi. read more

I have been to the Cary location once and the Raleigh location once. I went to the Cary location for their grand opening free flow, and it was great! Loved the challenge of Claudine's flow and temperature was a very hot 104. I went to the Raleigh location for a gentle flow on a Thursday night. I enjoyed the class, but I am not sure I would call it gentle. If you're looking for something more low key, I would try the yin class. The instructor kept turning on fans and opening doors...so I wasn't sure if that was the gentle part, but I think it interrupted the idea of *hot* yoga. Overall, I had a good flow and definitely got what I needed out of it. The lavender washcloths at the end are amazing!! I'd definitely recommend either location. Try have a great student drop-in rate ($9!) and are very welcoming. Can't wait to go to a donation class. read more

This is a great yoga studio. Claudine and Renee have been instrumental in my yoga journey. First off, they are kind, decent people who want to see you better yourselves. Second, they know their yoga. Very knowledgable individuals with unique and insightful perspectives. I like how we start Claudine's classes off with an intention we set for class, it really helps me to focus on using my energy in a very direct, life altering way. I haven't been to the studio in about a month but plan on re joining as soon as the holidays are over. And I'm sure Indigo Hot Yoga will be as good as ever! read more

Absolutely love this studio, and have had great experiences with all of the instructors. I really wish they had lockable lockers - I have never had anything stolen, but I don't like the idea of leaving my belongings unattended. I am always trying to find creative ways to pack so that I show up with absolutely nothing. I am HOOKED on hot yoga...and Indigo is the reason. I have been to several other yoga studios before and no place in NC can compare. LOVE the instructors, Renee will certainly bring out the best (or beast!) in you! The place is clean, clean, clean (which I never thought I'd say about a hot yoga studio). Smells fresh. The classes are full, but generally tolerable (daytime classes are less crowded.) The instructor even give you a lavender scented icy face towel at the completion of class. First thing that greets you once you pass the lobby is the horrible stench in the air especially where the cubbies are. I didn't read any reviews prior to going to my first class and wish I had! I wanted to turn around but I had already paid for the class. (and yes it's a one and done kind of experience for me). This stench (more like smell of feet and sweat) also follows you in the yoga room, so imagine being told to take a deep breath and breathing all of that malodorous smell. The yoga room itself was not the cleanest (not sure exactly how the floor is cleaned given there's holes on the type of flooring it has). Yes, they have a lot of equipment that you can use but not sure exactly if those are cleaned either. I was one of the early students there and was able to see how they "cleaned" things. First off, the floor was not wiped or dried from the previous class' sweat! The way they clean their yoga mats is by wetting them with this tank that sprays fluid that smells like chlorine and immediately after spraying, the mats were placed on top of each other while wet, without being fully dried or wiped. Another bad experience is hearing one of their teachers who was taking the class say " ugh! I hope no one shows up in my class today, I just want to go home" to another student there. The only reason I'm giving 1 star is the teacher that greeted me that day was sort of welcoming. read more

Great hot yoga studio. Everyone was super friendly. I went to the gentle hot class on Saturday night at 5:30pm & there were only 5 students which was great. The teacher was very knowledgable and lead a safe class which I enjoyed. I would say that a gentle hot class translates to a vigorous (but not hard core) non-hot class. So, I felt comfortable and wasn't worried about potentially injuring myself although I did modify. The bathroom had 3 showers with nice products so I was happy to take a shower afterwards. And finally, the practice room floor was made of a high tech rubber. It was apparent that every detail was taken care of here. read more

I'm a yoga lover and am always up to try a new place. I love hot yoga, too. The studio has a lot of classes offered, so finding one at a convenient time wasn't difficult. The studio is in the retail space under an apt complex near Cameron Village (almost too conveniently located by Gigi's cupcakes). Parking wasn't terrible at the time I went and I think the garage is free. The class was HOT but that's what I signed up for! So it was fitting. I felt the instructor was really well trained; I appreciate when teachers mention how to best engage muscles or position arms/legs to improve the position, and feel like she really did that. Thankfully she put the fan on at the end. The one thing that gave me a little anxiety (hence the 4 stars) was that if anyone left in the class that she would then also have to leave the class. I like to know that there's some flexibility to my presence, and should I need to use the restroom or something that I'm not inconveniencing the group. Otherwise, the studio seemed pretty appropriate for a smaller yoga studio. There were towels and mats to borrow at a small fee. Bathrooms and cubbies for belongings. Pros: Great instructors. Justin Anne makes some hilarious comments to get you through the tough times. Kimberly is super tough. Claudine always teaches a good class, too. Their drop in rates for students are great--only $9. Cons: I'm accustomed to hot yoga with a couple small built in breaks for 75 minutes classes. This studio doesn't do that, so I find I'm hitting a major wall in the last ten minutes of class. I don't like to take breaks and miss parts of class, so I struggle with this. I also agree with one of the previous reviews that I'm really skeptical about the cleanliness of the floor. I can't imagine there's any possible way to sanitize it based on its texture (and even if there is, they definitely don't between classes). This is huge considering the piles of sweat dropped in their classes. All-in-all, good instructors, decent studio, good prices. Good place to go, not my favorite, though. read more
