We stopped by today on a whim to see what Wish Kitchen was all about, and we were pleasantly surprised. As soon as we sat at the bar and were warmly greeted and asked our names which was so refreshing. The experience just got better from there, as we were introduced to one of the owners Bradley. It was suggested that we try the potato pave, which was superb and given the history of some of the menu options we selected, which was really fun. The only thing better than the "Sandwish" (of which they have many) was the cocktails and mocktails. I am astonished more people haven't be talking about this place! If you want good food, friendly service, and awesome drinks, go to Wish you won't be disappointed. Hey, you may even get a surprise visit from Granny while you are there if you go at the right time! Truly phenomenal experience - from the customer service to the food quality and overall atmosphere - couldn't ask for anything more! Happily accommodated a meal for our son with severe food allergies, and it was delicious. We ordered grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, a grilled chicken sandwich, kids meal, and had many fries - all was tasty and fresh. If you're looking for your new favorite date-night (or girls' night) spot in town, Wish absolutely lives up to its name. We went this week and everything we ordered was phenomenal. I started with two Aperol spritzes (no regrets, they were perfectly balanced and refreshing). We shared a potato appetizer that was crispy, flavorful, and the kind of dish you keep going back for "just one more bite." I ordered the smash burger, and it was truly one of the best I've had- perfectly crisp edges, juicy center, and just the right balance of toppings. My husband had the shrimp tacos, which were fresh, flavorful, and genuinely delicious. Beyond the food, the vibe is what makes this place special. It has that small-town, quaint charm, but the interior is absolutely beautiful, thoughtfully designed without feeling fussy. It feels elevated but still comfortable. The waitstaff and bartender were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We have been hearing about Wish over the last couple months from neighbors and friends that have been there. Wanting to avoid the Valentine's Day madness at restaurants on Saturday, we opted to go on Friday night. We are really glad we did. We found easy parking across the street next to the park area on W Myrtle Ln. The place is not big, but it does have ample seating at tables (high top and regular) without crowding people in. It has a nice "neighborhood bar" vibe with TVs on the walls and an industrial feel. We were greeted immediately by Gabby, who would also be our server. We chose a high top table and she immediately brought menus and asked if we wanted water (which we did). After a few minutes, she arrived with the waters and asked if we would like drinks or appetizers. We wanted to buy a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, but weren't familiar with the brand (Patient Cottat Le Grand Caillou). She offered to bring us a taste to try and we loved it! She quickly brought it out with an ice bucket and took our food order. My wife opted for the grilled chicken and I chose the shrimp tacos (be sure to ask for corn tortillas if you prefer over flour). We started enjoying our wine and our meals arrived in short order. Presentation was very nice, and the portions were perfect. My tacos came with delicious sides of black beans and jalapeño cream corn. Both sides were very good! The corn had a nice bite, and the black beans were perfect with onion and a nice broth. The tacos came stuffed with large plump grilled shrimp, shredded cabbage, and a drizzle of jalapeño ranch. They were delicious! I will say the shrimp were slightly overcooked and just a bit rubbery, but easy to look past with the flavor profile. My wife said her chicken was really good, tender and not dry. She had a side salad and green beans as her 2 sides. She liked the salad (comes with balsamic vinaigrette dressing) and while the green beans were flavorful, they were overcooked and a bit mushy (or they were canned). Gabby provided top shelf service, never letting our waters run out and kept our wine glasses full. Her bright and cheery personality really helped make the experience a really nice one. We ordered a vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce to share and she brought it right out. Mike (the owner) came over as we were finishing up and introduced himself and asked about our meal. It's so nice when the owner comes out to speak with customers and solicit input for anything that can be improved. I saw him do this with all the other customers, yet he made it feel like we were the most important guests. Do yourself a favor and give Wish a try. They are family owned and their passion to provide great food, drink, and service is obvious. As a side note, Mike told us he also owns Georgie's in Georgetown. We plan to try that next! First visit. Parking is very challenging without a dedicated lot. Tiny restaurant/bar - maybe 10 tables. Friendly staff. Bar takes up almost half of the space. Food was good - Shepherds Pie ($25) and pulled short rib sandwich ($19) were our choices. Pricey for me. Excellent fries w the sandwich. Guacamole appetizer ($11) was just ok - but needed salt and lime juice - salsa tasted like it was from a jar. Cherry pie w ice cream ($12) All tables full immediately after 5 and the noise level was unbearable - made it impossible to talk. Had to shout across the table - not enjoyable. Wish is the best thing to happen to Liberty Hill in the entire two years I've lived there...Food is fresh, imaginative, tasty, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is cozy and upbeat, the owners and staff seem genuinely happy to be there, and the service is fast, friendly, and efficient...I've eaten there three different times and also ordered their yummy Mandarin Salad for takeout...I love it more with each visit! Visited Wish Kitchen + Bar tonight and I'm so impressed with this new spot in downtown Liberty Hill! This is exactly the kind of quality restaurant our community has been waiting for. **The Food:** The shepherd's pie was absolutely amazing - clearly made with care and packed with flavor. The appetizers were equally fantastic and perfect for sharing. Everything we tried exceeded our expectations. **The Drinks:** The bar program is on point! Our drinks were expertly crafted and delicious. You can tell they take their cocktails seriously here. **The Family Touch:** What really made the evening special was the genuine family atmosphere. This is a true family operation - one son was behind the bar making our drinks, the other son was cooking alongside dad in the kitchen, and we even got to chat with grandma while she took a well-deserved break from washing dishes. You don't find that kind of authentic, hands-on dedication very often anymore. The Farr family has created something really special here. You can feel the love and effort they've put into every detail. Downtown Liberty Hill needed a restaurant like this, and I'm so glad they chose our community. OMGeeee is what I have to say about this small town restaurant. I had the shrimp tacos, they were cooked to perfection. My hubby had the grilled Korean sandwich and this sandwich was HUGE and AMAZING. The sides were fantastic, the fries OMG. First time here and I highly recommend it. We tried this place for the first time tonight. To begin with, it is a very small place, a mom-and-pop place, with just a handful of tables and a bar. The net result is that the environment is rather loud. We were OK with it, but definitely not the environment for a quiet date night. The food was great. We started out with the Potato Pavé appetizer, which was quite well done. I had the Shepherd's Pie, which was truly fantastic. My wife had the Nutty Brown Cecil Gallo, which was maybe even better. For dessert we had fried ice cream. It was good, but not as amazing as the entrees. The staff (including the owner) were very nice and made us feel very welcome. read more

Two times there and both times were great! The mixed drinks are fantastic. All of the food was great. The second time they were slammed and two servers were out sick. Even then the service was wonderful, even though a little slow. The kitchen has the food out fast. Hope this place is around for a while! read more
