We left our 4 cats in the care of Cheryl Geigner (Wishbone Pet Services). She was organized and thoughtful. She communicated regularly during our 10 day absence. She went above and beyond to check on our boat after the recent hurricane and even sent us pictures of the boat to put our minds at ease. She was a great find and we will use her again read more

I had high hopes for Cheryl & wishbone pet services. We were gone for 6 days and left two cats in Cheryl's care. I laid out specific instructions. Both to her on initial visit and again in writing on my counter after we left, two visits a day to feed cats and open and close front verticals where our one cat likes to lay all day and watch the birds & squirrels. Kitchen fan light was to be left on the whole time. Our second night gone we checked in on our security camera at 8:30pm and saw that our front verticals were wide open and the kitchen light was on, so every person driving by my house could see right inside as plain as day and know that we were not at home. I contacted Cheryl via WhatsApp right away(twice) and she read my message right away but ignored it until the next morning. Cheryl lives not even 5 min. From my house!! If that was me and my business I would have responded to my client right away and taken care of the problem/issue right away. Because she chose to ignore my message and the rest of the visits she turned the kitchen light OFF I honestly can not recommend her or wishbone. Had their been an emergency with my cats and I contacted her would she have ignored me?? I won't take that chance with my pets. read more

Wishbone is truly a great service. My dog, Bruce, loves Tara and the folks at Wishbone. I can't wait to introduce them to our new dog, Moe. I have no doubt that there will be a mutual bond between Moe and the Wishbone staff, just as there's been with our dog, Bruce. This is because Tara Rhodes and the staff at Wishbone truly love and respect animals. And, they're excellent with their families, too. I can't say enough about Wishbone. I'm very grateful that Wishbone is always here to help when I need them, and knowing that when they're in Wishbone's care, our dog(s) are in the best of hands! read more

Wishbone sent the right person to pet sit our pack of four dogs while we vacation in Florida. We have used this service for three years and I highly recommend it. I felt very comfortable leaving them with the sitter. read more

Just to further update my review from 2014, I have not had to use the Ladies of Wishbone since we have adopted our most recent male Chessie in 2017. We asked them to come over for a meet and greet - it went very well. We are in a new neighborhood and have seen other pet sitters being used by the neighbors. They show up very late in the evening leaving the dogs alone for a very long time. I want to drop off Wishbone's card so they will have the same experience we have. I have no worries having the Ladies of Wishbone come to the house and take care of my two fur babies. You should try them out - very reliable! read more

Tara has taken excellent care of our three dogs multiple times over the past four years. She has stayed overnight and has also stopped in for afternoon visits. My dogs are always happy to see her. We always feel like our precious fur babies are left with someone who genuinely cares for them and we have no worries when have to leave them. Highly recommend her service. read more

Tara and Linda are awesome. Very professional and go above and beyond for our dogs. We have a large, hyper dog, who is a bit difficult, and they are great with with him! Have always stressed about our dogs while we go away, but now that I have found Wishbone, I know my boys are in good hands! I would recommend them to anyone! read more

With 3 large dogs and 4 cats they are cared for as if we just have only one, we feel comfortable at all times. we know each person who visits our pets and its up to us if we feel they are a good fit. read more

Hi There! My name is Tara Rhodes. I'm 30 yrs old, I have 3 Westies...and possibly you've seen me walking through Cape Harbour with a big red stroller with my 14 year old inside, Skyler, with Joey & Lily walking along side me. Sound ridiculous? Maybe. But he can't walk far & enjoys going along with us on walks & fresh air :) You may also see us at rotary dog park. I am proud to say I have over 17 years of dog experience. I've worked in Kennels, Doggy Daycare, Shelters (Volunteer), nutritional educator for a top reputable pet food company, pet stores & dog training. I am self-taught dog trainer & behaviorist. In my free time, I am a proud volunteer at Animal Shelters - my goal is to train the dogs basic manners for more adoptions! With my extensive experience, knowledge, & qualifications, I am thrilled to provide exceptional services to you!

My cat is incredibly shy and does not trust people easily; she typically hides even when family members visit our house. To address that, Kirsten invested time in getting to know my Ema over the course of several acclimation visits, and each time establishing a closer contact with the cat. As a result of this, Ema bonded with Kirsten by the time I had to go for my extended trip. Kirsten would provide detailed reports and photos from each of her visit. She would not only feed, clean and take care of Ema daily, she also filled that special space to make her comfortable and not lonely. She brushed and played with her, enticed her with treats, and did such an amazing job all around, that I had no concerns being away for such a long time. Kirsten is very punctual, professional, and diligent sitter. She is amazing with animals! You will not have to worry whatsoever about leaving your furry baby under her care. When we got them back they went from completely untrained to trained in every way! Door manners, in the car, on the leash, and other basic commands, you name it! They were crazy about food and now they will sit in front of food and wait to eat it when they are told. It's amazing! We then brought them back for a tune up when our son was born. It was awesome knowing they were with people who knew them and loved them. Our dog Charlie ran and jumped in the lake immediately! Happy as can be. A huge shoutout to Derrick! When our son was born 4 weeks early he went out of his way to pick our dogs up when we were stuck at the hospital. He truly loves the dogs and cares about the families. We have two male dogs and adopted a female from the shelter 2 months ago, who was so sweet but turned out to be a bit more dog aggressive then my family and I could safely handle. Tara and her team tirelessly spent time and attention to help us help this new dog and when we realized that we could not keep her, Tara's heroic and unfaltering efforts found this pup an amazing new home where she could live and thrive. My husband and I struck gold when finding Wishbone Pet Services! Alisha and Tara came over to meet us and our timid rescue dog. Scruffy doesn't warm up to strangers right away which has been a concern for us when looking for a pet sitting company. Within 25 minutes, Tara was sitting on the floor with a Scruffy - amazing!
