My daughter & I have been wanting to try Witches Brew Coffee for some time and we finally made the trip. First off, purple if my favorite color so I am in love with the exterior and even more in love with the inside decor. It's witch heaven if there is such a thing. Every inch is decorated perfectly....loved the vibe. It was packed when we went in, not a seat to be had. Looks like a cool place to chill reading a book or meet up with friends. There was one person working and however you are....youre a badass!!!!! You were rocking it today. So friendly and patient with it being our first time. Thank you for your patience. They have Summerween Specials right now which were amazing. I chose the Stevie Nicks which was a white chocolate and cherry latte topped with cheesecake, foam crushed graham crackers and a cherry. It was perfection. The perfect balance of coffee flavor and not too sweet for me. My daughter ordered the Marshmallow Inferno Cold Brew which was absolutely beautiful. It's a dark chocolate cold brew with marshmallow cold foam, crushed graham crackers and a toasted marshmallow. We also ordered a cheese danish which was very very tasty. The witchy vibes start as soon as you pull up to Witches Brew Coffee. The building is purple with "1813" on the front--and I just noticed the address is actually 1813. I don't know how they managed that, but I love it! As soon as you walk through the door, you feel like you've stepped into a completely different place. The whole inside is decorated with creepy, haunted, witchy stuff--witch portraits, creepy dolls, weird lighting, themed chairs... honestly, there's something to look at everywhere you turn. And I love a place that commits to a theme! But obviously, none of that matters if the coffee isn't good. I got the toasted marshmallow cold brew, but I had them leave out the chocolate because I don't like chocolate in my coffee. It was SO good. It came with a huge toasted marshmallow on top, which looked really cool, although I will say it was a little awkward to actually drink with a whole marshmallow sitting on there . I think it would be even better if they scored it or cut it in half and toasted it a little more. And then I got the cheese danish... OH MY GOD. I honestly think this might be the best cheese danish I've ever had. It was seriously that good. The lady working the counter was super nice and recommended the cold brew, and she nailed it. It got pretty busy while we were there, but I totally understand why. This is the kind of place I could sit and hang out for a long time. I came for the coffee, but I stayed for the chicken's feet that would grant me protection and luck for only $5, the multiple sage bundles to cleanse my chakras, and the incense sticks that might remove a hex or give me divine powers once burned. Witches Brew is a place to find all sorts of magical things, but it is also just a divine (in every sense of the word) place to sit and have a hot beverage and a pastry. It's worth a visit to this coffee shop just to see the decor. It's purple everywhere, with mood lighting, mirrors, gothic tchotchkes, creepy dolls, skulls and other fun and slightly ominous curio. There are cool things in every corner, and even though I had intended on getting my coffee to go, I decided to sit for a while because coffee sometimes just tastes better when you're surrounded by cobwebs and broomsticks. I got an Americano, which is usually my go-to if I don't know how strong the house drip will be. The Americano was nice and smooth. I didn't have to wait long at all for my coffee. I visited on a weekday during the morning, and there were two people ahead of me, but the line went fast and my coffee came out quickly. read more

This place has been on my list for some time and I was super excited to check it out! Attended the open mic night with a friend and overall the space definitely has a cool vibe. We both ordered a pumpkin spice latte, mine didn't have much "pumpkin flavor" and to be honest I'm not sure if it was because I ordered the decaf or if it just simply wasn't a good flavor! It made me hesitant because the barista suggested something else after I ordered it, it was almost as if she knew I wouldn't like it?! Anyway, I politely declined and surely regretted not taking her suggestion, but sometimes you just have to be upfront and honest and say hey the flavor sucks let me make you this one instead. I came here with my daughters yesterday to grab a cup of coffee after a drive and walk around Cave Hill Cemetery. My daughters ordered a couple of specialty drinks while I only wanted a plain coffee. My daughters were thrilled with their selections and my coffee was fine and piping hot. Service was very good and if you enjoy that witchy vibe and Halloween this is your place. I recently stopped by Witches Brew Coffee, and it was definitely a unique experience. The whole place is themed around witches, and you can tell they have really committed to it. The walls and every corner are filled with witch-related artwork, decorations, and even merchandise. It's fun to look around because there's something interesting everywhere you turn. The coffee itself was pretty standard, nothing particularly standout, but the atmosphere is really what makes this place special. If you enjoy spooky or Halloween-style vibes, you'll probably love it here. They also offer free Wi-Fi, so it could be a good spot for studying or getting some work done. Personally, I found the ambiance a bit too spooky for focusing, especially at night. I am just not a big fan of that kind of setting (haha). Fun atmosphere, nice staff, excellent coffee! Obviously, the draw is the unique, witchy ambiance. You can't miss the bright purple building. Inside, it's pretty cozy with plenty of seating. There are more tables than I was expecting as well as a couple of plush velvet wingbacks and even a pair of pews to accommodate patrons. The menu had quite a few interesting options, but I went with Envy from the Seven Deadly Sins selection. Smelled and tasted great! Reasonably priced as well. There are also pastries and sweets to snack on as well as some local arts and witchy herbs and crystals. We stopped by the Witches Brew Coffee this week for an evening meet up and to check it out. It did not disappoint! It's located on Frankfort Avenue with on street parking available in front and on the side street. It's a smaller coffee shop, but decorated like a witches house inside with large chairs and smaller tables throughout. They also have a small area where they sell candles, incense, trinkets, jewelry, etc. It wasn't crowded when we arrived around 5:30 pm, and the staff was very friendly and patient as we looked over the drink menu and asked questions. We both opted for a frizzy drink with no energy booster - my daughter had the Orange Dreamsicle and I had the Key Lime Pie drink. Both are made with sparking water and had a cool foam on top. We also purchased a LaBubu sugar cookie, which were adorable and turned my daughter's mouth purple! We loved the theme of the coffee shop and the drinks were refreshing and delicious. read more

Very witchy vibes - the decor is immaculate. Lots of drink options, they have a whole menu based on the 7 Deadly Sins! I ended up trying a drink from their seasonal menu - The Bruja, which is a mocha with cayenne. I got it iced, which was much needed given the heat today. Very chocolate forward, I didn't really taste the cayenne or any coffee. They also had some fun looking baked goods, like an apple cider donut. They've got some fun metaphysical items for sale (7 Day Spell Candles, Samhain bath soaks), so definitely worth a browse if you're interested. read more

Finally! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get here. My first visit the line was out the door and down the street, which kept us away. Obviously this space is known for its name and witchy decor. Plus, they are getting into events, and you can keep updated by following their social media pages. Their personal side comes through by making sure all are welcomed in this space. Our drinks received mixed reviews today. I kept it simple and asked for an iced cherry latte. It got better as it melted and blended. At first it was a bit bitter so it likely needed to sit a bit and mesh the flavor. My teen got the red and blue iced drink. Tart and really dried your mouth. He finished it off though and followed it with a big glass of water. My husband was a bit of a mess ... he tried one of the summer drinks (potion in the title). It mixed chocolate and orange together. He sipped it twice and threw it away. Sigh ... bought a pineapple dragonfruit drink afterwards. Just hate when a pricier drink is a bust. I think this is a fun spot to gather for a quick chat or drop in while you're hopping from place to place as we were. I wouldn't pick it for a spot to relax or stay too long. It's fairly busy and the seating doesn't create that vibe. Small items for purchase in the back. Street parking is plentiful. Prices are competitive. What's not to love about this place? Especially for me, as purple is my favorite color and I belong to a group of theatrical witches. So when I spotted this place accidentally on Google maps as I was planning a trip to Louisville, I knew I had to at least check it out. Yay! I finally made it here! I instantly loved the vibe, repeatedly thinking the witch mannequin on the couch was a real person and several times looking toward her to say 'Excuse me.' I hope my politeness to what may seem like an inanimate object brings me good fortune. Staff was friendly and working on some display art when not busy with guests, which I loved seeing. It felt like a real place of community. I got a bagel with cream cheese and an iced espresso and soda, to which I added a dash of cream. My drink was so lovely and refreshing. Next time I might add flavor to it. The bagel... as you see in the photo it was the kind of bagel and cream cheese that you might get wrapped in plastic wrap at lunchtime in middle school. I am a HUGE bagel fan, and strangely, I loved it. Sometimes you just want the most basic version of something. I either want an in-house hand-rolled oven-baked bagel or this kind of bagel--nothing in between. Might sound crazy but this was the perfect midday pick me up of bare bones carbs. What an enchanting spot to enjoy a coffee! I so love a great locally-owned coffee shop, and this is absolutely one of the most unique that I have ever visited. From the moment I stepped through the door I sensed it was going to be a great experience. The witchy/spooky decor was a great vibe and there was so many things to take in before I even reached the coffee bar. Photo ops abound! However, the fun doesn't end with the bewitching decor. Let's talk about the coffee drinks. My husband loves cherry-flavored anything and it is a rarity to find a cherry coffee drink. Witches Brew came through! He is still talking about "The Lovers" coffee drink (cherry amaretto, white mocha, with cherry cold foam) that he enjoyed. The baristas were so kind, patient, and helpful to make me a chai tea drink from scratch, instead of using the chia tea concentrate, because it contains too much sugar for me. My drink was absolutely delicious! There are so many options for coffee and tea drinkers, but beer and wine are also available. There was a selection of delicious-looking pastries available too. The prices are inline with other coffee shops in the metro area. Also available for sale were incense sticks and oils, sage bundles, soaps, candles, crystals and more. Parking is street side and availability can vary by local events and time of day. Area streets in the neighborhood are also available for parking and are only a few blocks walk from the shop. Came here on a Sunday in the morning not long after they open. They stay busy from the moment they open FYI. Come early or come later or be prepared to wait. Ambiance is wonderful! The decor is absolutely amazing. Very unique and I love the fact they actually sell various metaphysical items. I got one of the specialty drinks based on 7 deadly sins, Sloth. It was okay. I appreciate it wasn't overly sweet. Part of the reason I have a low rating was the experience of the staff. They were not welcoming and essentially rude. Not sure if the busy season is getting to them but both were very rude and off putting. Not sure I'll return. Not sure if it's worth the hassle. read more

Witches Brew was such a delight to visit! When I stopped by earlier today, it still had its Harry Potter decor up, which just made me smile so big. Love a great theme! I think their Harry Potter specials run through Feb. 2. And even without it, I could tell that this witchy spot is a fun treat for the eyes and tastebuds. A fun collection of weird and wonderful paraphernalia line the walls and sit, just waiting to be admired, in glass cases. But along with the spellbinding vibes, I also wanted a good drink. I opted for a dirty chai tea latte to-go, and this hit the spot. It was flavorful, warm and ready fast. I also couldn't help myself from getting some cute Harry Potter-themed owl cookies for my kids and a giant coffee cake muffin for me. My husband and I visited witches brew on a Saturday morning around 11:00am. I was super excited because I love all things witchy and Halloweenish. The good: the decor is phenomenal, the vibe is cool as hell, the staff was friendly, they have both indoor and outdoor seating, and pricing is comparable to Starbucks. They sell trinkets, candles, jewelry, stones and other cool things from local venders. There was a sign in the bathroom that said they have plan b available for free and to just ask the barista and that there is absolutely no judgement which I think is pretty cool for anyone who finds themselves in a situation. The bad: My husband and I got in line at 11:07 and finally sat down with our coffee at 12:36.... I do know they had posted on Facebook that they were understaffed and there were only 2 people running the show that morning but that's a really long wait. My husband ordered an iced matcha which was delicious. I ordered an iced "Sloth" which was off of their seven deadly sins menu. It was a banana bread latte, whipped cream with banana chips on top. Other than the banana chips on top I did not taste anything banana. It tastes like a regular iced latte. I also ordered a hot pumpkin king specialty coffee. While you could definitely taste the pumpkin and the flavor was good, it wasn't very hot....more lukewarm than anything. So with the wait time and then receiving mediocre coffee it kind of was a flop for me. Overall, I feel like the coffee shop relies on the niche-ness of it all more than the coffee itself. However, I would return again as it is a really cool place to hang out or read a book; just as long as I don't have to stand in line for an hour and a half. read more

Really cool place. I just stumbled upon this while going to another place across the street and decided to stop in. They literally just opened this week and was pretty busy. A wide selection of coffees, lattes and teas. Even had croissants and red velvet cake. Also had an area of things you could buy from jewelry, stones, sage, oils/potions, tarot cards and books. Tarot card readings happen there too. We got the pumpkin spice tea. It tasted just like pumpkin spice. I was really surprised.
