Wet, thin gravy without a speck of pepper or seasoning in sight.

Ordered a small selection of breakfast options while I was staying at the attached hotel. The espresso drinks were all serviceable, even the boozy one I had, but this place has got some of the worst food I've had at a hotel breakfast place. The staff is nice enough, but they mumble a lot and it's not clear which order is ready or who it belongs to. The food is truly awful though. I had an over-cooked and rubbery spinach mushroom omelette, the mushrooms tasted like they were in a can on a shelf for the last 6 months. I had a blueberry scone that was wasn't even done cooking. There was still wet batter in the center like a play-doh filling! The Biscuits and Gravy were the worst of the food crimes committed here. It tastes like they forgot milk, salt, and pepper entirely when making the gravy and exclusively used water and flour.

Located inside of the Cambria, we are here during our stay. Indoor and patio seating which is right at street level. Not too loud but does have bustle from passing traffic. The refreshers were definitely a hit amongst the group. I chose the dragonfruit sparkling lemonade. Perfect choice for the muggy morning heat. My omelet paired with house potatoes and bacon were equally as delicious. Wait times are pretty good. They do have limited hours so be sure to visit before closing which is 11:00. Great spot for hotel guests when you aren't in the mood to venture out for breakfast.

I really like Jackdaw's to grab a cup of coffee and relax by the fire. It's a nice hotel, too! I even ordered their biscuits and gravy which was good. However, I was going to stay and read and didn't know that they close around 11:30. For a coffee shop/ restaurant, I would expect them to be open a little longer!

My husband and I were guests in the Cambria Hitel in Louisville. I took advantage of having breakfast at the Jackdaw Breakfast & Bourbon Bar located on the street level of the hotel. It is a small cafe, and service was fast and coffee hot. They also offer a wide array of other coffees, lattes, and other drinks. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with blueberries and turkey sausage on the side. The pancakes were super thin but ok. The turkey sausage had a nice mild spice taste which was good. I did have a coffee with a few shots of toffee syrup with my meal. The staff was super friendly too.

Staff wash not only super kind and informative but also made decent drinks. I had the honey, cinnamon hand shaken iced coffee. Was absolutely delicious.

Lauren made us some pretty amazing drinks! The Irish coffee and espresso martini were top notch. A bunch of very different and good drinks to choose from. Lauren was helpful, nice and had very good suggestions. Will return here! Thankyou Lauren! Very cool music and ambiance here. Had a great time.

I almost didn't come here because of past reviews, but met the nice manager and a delightful barista. Wonderful latte.

It was a full house but everything was really good as far as drinks and food. Staff was nice considerate and updating you when it comes to something taking too long, getting another beverage. The whole 9 yards. We got the Neapolitan flat bread and it was great! Also the popcorn of the night was lime chili and it'll knock your socks off! So tasty. Drinks were French 75, house margarita, a smoked and sour, and another drink my friend got I can't recall the name of. The ambiance is so cute down to the light when you enter with the name. The vibes is warm low light. Parking is street only and limited. You may have to park a block up and walk.

I walked in around 5:15pm on a monday night, with plans for a friend to join me around 5:30. The sign at the host station said to wait to be seated. So I waited. And waited. and waited... Folks walked in after me, waited for a bit and then sat themselves at the bar. But I did not want to sit at the bar, we wanted to sit at a table. The server seemed to be willfully ignoring me and avoiding my attempts at eye contact. The bartender was taking care of everyone at the bar as well as making drinks for the rest of the patrons too, he saw me eventually and was looking around for the server or (nonexistent?) host to help me out. The bartender ultimately told me that I could just seat myself wherever I wanted, so I did. There were maybe 3 table seated at this point, it was not that busy. Then it took yet another chunk of time (6 pages read in my book I never leave home without) before I got water and menus. I was frustrated but was looking forward to seeing my friend and was ready to make the most of it. All that said, I like the vibe of the space. The dark, cozy vibes. We came because we wanted cocktails and something to nosh on. And eventually we got that. We shared a flatebread and an Asian-inspired hushpuppy sort of situation. They were pretty tasty and nice to have with our cocktails. The cocktail list is longer than expected and with a lot of intriguing sounding offerings. The two I had were very tasty and delicious! I would maybe come back again and sit at the bar so a solo visit if I had a stretch of time and no rush. My overall memory of the visit is still about the over-long wait/being ignored for such a long time after entering.

Must try: Signature Cocktails!…read more Why: What a neat experience enjoying some cocktails inside a restored church. The bar wall filled with liquor bottles ceiling high was like wow! I enjoyed the Revival Cathedral and Rhubarb Revelation specialty cocktails made with Heaven's Door Whiskey. Both were refreshing and went down smoothly. I didn't try any food but many folks around me seemed to enjoy their meals and drinks. Notes: I came on a Sunday around dinner time and it was packed. Luckily, I found a seat at the bar because someone was just leaving when I arrived. Bartender was welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive all while serving back to back customers. The decor, stained glass, chandeliers, and walls filled with bottles was really cool to see. Great ambiance for small or large groups. Tons of seating at bar, tables, and comfy side chairs. I'd like to come back with family and friends to enjoy other drinks and try their food next time.

The soaring ceilings, stained glass, and echoes of what the building once was make you pause and reflect. But then "Break On Through (To the Other Side)" came on, the drinks started flowing, the energy shifted, and suddenly you stop overthinking and simply admire the beauty of the space and what it has become. The atmosphere is stunning, moody, and unlike anywhere else. We originally ordered one of their signature drinks only to find out they couldn't serve it after the order was placed, but Alain handled it well and made things right with 30% off, which was appreciated. Also, huge thanks to Sean and Mike working security. Walk-ins were completely full for the night, and honestly without their help and kindness we probably never would've gotten a reservation. They treated us incredibly well and set the tone for a great evening. A memorable experience, beautiful setting, and a place that somehow balances reverence, history, and nightlife all at once.

So different than anything we've ever had. I started with 2 birds 1 stone. It was good though I wouldn't order it again. My husband had a draft. We started with the crispy cauliflower and the embered beets. Both delicious but the beets knocked it out of the park. We then were served salatim- a large tray of pita and 8 toppings. My favorite was the pickled carrots. Finally we shared the grape leaf bronzino. We did request no head on the fish but for those of you who are more daring (aka less squeamish), it could be quite a spectacular presentation. Definitely would order again. Meesh Meesh is a James Beard winner. It takes 2-3 months to get reservations and as soon as the reservations open up, they fill up. We were pleasantly surprised to walk in to find that they had a table available. The tables are almost on top of each other. It could be a little weird but I've never met a stranger. We talked to the people on both sides of us like we were old friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. The guys next to us ordered the dinner for two. We definitely weren't hungry enough for so many courses but at $65/person, it probably would have been nearly a wash to what we paid. (Plus they got an amazing looking dessert). Service was impeccable. No thoughts on parking as we walked from our hotel Over the last 29 years, while our families lived in Pittsburgh (aka Steeler Nation!!), we must have driven through Louisville nearly 200 times yet we never stopped. We haven't been in the city for 5 hours and I'm so sorry that we have waited so long to discover Louisville.
