This review is specifically about the Boat Dock crew. Jen, Zoe, and Matt(?)…read more We are on a Cousins vacation and making the best of all of the beautiful amenities available to guests. Don't forget to take a paddle boat, canoe, or paddle board out on the glacial lake-you don't need to have your wallet except I suggest you consider a nice gratuity. If you don't tip, at least provide a written review if the experience and service was good. Our service here was for a paddle boat and two kayaks. You will sign a waiver and be issued a lifejacket. No time limit is placed on you and instructions are clear. The loss of the star is strictly for the carpeting in the bedrooms/guest rooms. There's nothing historic about the carpet that was used so if there is an anticipated renovation restoration in the future, management might consider replacing Carpet with some type of flooring or have an annual deep cleaning schedule to keep the musty smell away.

This storied resort is in the Shawangunk range, just south of the Catskill mountains. We spent one…read moreday there, and were blessed with good weather, as activities are geared towards the outdoors--boating, canoeing, and kayaking on the lake, hiking, horseback riding, and golf and tennis off-site. There is an indoor pool and spa. My wife took a dance class, and we hiked part of the way up the mountain, and part of the way around the lake, stepping around the piles of horse manure, because the they use the same trail. We had a king bed room with a balcony with two rocking chairs and a scenic view of the mountains. The room was tidy and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was clean, but other than a tiny glass shelf over the sink, no place to put your toiletries. Your daily hotel room charge includes a gourmet 3-course dinner, buffet breakfast, and buffet lunch. From the dinner menu, I ordered the lobster en croute soup, the roasted halibut, and chocolate cake. Everything was delicious. Alcohol and espresso coffee drinks are not included. A beer was $11 and a single espresso $6. The buffets were lavish, but too much food, especially since breakfast and lunch were served just four hours apart. Our room for one night for two with the three meals, plus one 8 oz. carafe of wine, one beer, and one espresso with dinner cost a whopping $1,700 with the fees and taxes. We had a pleasant time, but that was exorbitant. My wife wanted to check this place out, no reason to return.

Holy what the? I went in for a 60 minute massage. The staff pointed to the sign that said $70 but…read moresaid $60. She corrected herself and repeatedly said $70. I got it. I had been there before. No issue. No worries. Greatest massage ever. However the therapist had a running nose. I could hear her snort. And then... snot drops onto my back. Snot drops onto my leg. I really was hoping it was sweat or lotion. It was towards the end so I grin and bear it. I am totally disgusted but figured I wouldn't freak out until I see the therapist. Maybe she sweats a lot. I pay with cash. I go to give a tip and the therapist told me I owe her $20. I asked how. She said "she is so tired". She said it "was a different type of massage". I said how? I asked for deep tissue. She said yes but "she is so tired". "I worked her hard." She points in my wallet to a 20. She said you owe me. I asked how much the treatment was - she confirmed $70. I said I gave you 70. She said she had to work harder on me. I owe her more it was a different type of massage. One, no - no it was not. Two, don't say that out loud - my wife wouldn't appreciate that and we could get arrested. Three - unless you consider dripping bodily fluids on me, different - I'm not sure wtf is going on here. I questioned again the price. She said $70 plus $20 because she is tired. I asked to speak to a manger. She refused. A new client walked in. I told him to be careful. I told him about the additional $20. He didn't care and shrugged and she left with him. He must get the "special" massage. Never again. This was beyond a whirlwind of wtf.

Like the owner, always treats the customers nicely ! Place the very clean and cozy. Will definitely…read morego back!
