It's the lack of professionalism and accountability…read more I had a project I came well prepared for and was planning on recording a 12 track album with one of the sound engineers. We spent the recording session arranging my track in a traditional way without exploring my creative process. I hold myself accountable for not being more forthcoming and taking the reigns in the session. However, when I requested a refund, The sound engineer made up several lies to justify his disinterest by saying I was an hour late, came unprepared and had cancelled last minute prior to the first session. ALL LIES. He even tried to sell me to go to another studio (a studio he's trying to get into good graces with) and record my vocals there. He had mentioned the mics were just better at the other studio. So I had told him thank you for his time and decided to part ways and requested a refund directly through the owner. The owner called me and said: "give me a reason why I should believe you instead of a guy I have worked with for two years" the whole thing made me so upset. He then offered a partial refund and hour session. But after reading his email that accused me of being an hour late and to come better prepared; essentially eating the lies of his employee, I have decided to part ways. The owner was arrogant and unprofessional, and the sound engineer treated my artistry with indifference. I am disappointed.
