He knows how to pose people in small, medium, and large groups. He'll remind guests if they need to button any jackets to get that great shot. He knows how to incorporate the background so he isn't just taking pictures of people but really the entire environment. There is great balance in the photos. He was extremely flexible the day of. We had an intimate wedding in Disneyland and wanted only one photographer as it was quite a small gathering. From the get go, Ryan was terrific. Excellent and quick communication, very reasonable price and great personality. Got along with all our guests, videographer, wedding staff and yeah, the photos were great too. Ryan is basically a magician!!! Our photos came out not only beautiful but also full of life and joy. Going through all the photos made me teary-eyed, laugh, and immediately wonder if it'd be weird to use our wedding photos as bedroom wallpaper (my s/o convinced me this was a no-go, haha!). Ryan is not only obviously an incredible photographer, but he's ridiculously fun to work with. Hours before our ceremony, we needed to change venues which I worried would ruin the day. Drive you and your wedding party home from your wedding because you are too drunk? double check. This guy, who is now our friend, offers nothing short of genuine magic. I mean, just look at his photos! But its not all about the photos, is it? Ryan grabs the wedding day by the balls and knows what the hell he is doing. On your wedding day, you are so consumed with time, your venue, your vendors, omg is it fucking raining?! type of situations and Ryan just shows up and gets right to work. Ryan is absolutely amazing and worth every penny! I knew from the start that hiring a good photographer would be one of the most important things on my wedding to-do list...pictures are forever (flowers die). Anyway, I wanted a certain less formal style out of my wedding photos and after going through hundreds of websites I finally landed on Ryan's page. His site, like his personality, exudes awesomeness and is exactly the style I was looking for. We first met Ryan over the phone and not in person until our engagement shoot. He was very flexible and when we said we wanted to do it in Manhattan Beach he was on board. He's super easy to talk to and it didn't take long to get over the awkwardness of having someone take photos of you while in a public setting. We even grabbed a drink with him at a local spot! A few months went by and we touched base several times to go over our had to have shots with family, etc. and the general timeline. Come the day of our Palm Springs wedding, Ryan was right on time and already full of ideas. We took some getting ready shots before heading out to the windmills to get some of the best shots of the day! Then was the ceremony and reception which he captured perfectly. All of our guests loved Ryan and even though our venue was small he didn't seem intrusive or have any crazy equipment. (I've been to some weddings where the photographer shines a very bright light on the couple all night!) All said and done, I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone looking for a great wedding photographer and not the standard formal, boring pictures. For a while now I have seen photos Ryan has posted of weddings he has photographed (we are Facebook friends!) I liked the 'non posed' and 'non-traditional' style of his photos. So when he posted photos of his first 'family' photo session I immediately messaged him. I have the better part of 1000 photos of my 3yr old, but very few of her and I together so I jumped at the chance to have him capture us in his unique style. Best $ I ever spent. The photos were a million times better than I ever hoped for! Hire Ryan now, and you can thank me later...seriously! My husband and I very recently got married in Temecula, and I was not satisfied with any of the photographers the winery recommended (I wanted a local photographer). We are not the whimsical type, and my husband hates taking pictures. So I googled, googled some more, and voila, found Ryan. He had me at his website intro, something about drinking beer and playing tunes on his banjo for his lady. I knew at this point our personalities would click, and this was hugely important for a couple that feels awkward in front of the camera. Not only did we have fun at our first meeting, our engagement session in San Diego, but we were blown away once we got our pictures back. Ryan is awesome. He puts his heart into all of his photos. He will not take cheesy photos, he in fact nixed one of my themed ideas that was incredibly cheesy, and he really gets to know the couples he photographs. You can tell that he absolutely loves what he does. We just got our wedding photos back, in what felt like a blink of an eye, and they are perfect! Everyone had so much fun at our wedding, like couldn't stop smiling and laughing, and Ryan captured all of that. From our group photos to the action dance shots, Ryan killed it. Hire Ryan! Do not hesitate! I live in Europe, so finding a wedding photographer for our California wedding wasn't easy and a little nerve-wracking, but I honestly had nothing to worry about! After emailing back and forth to get all the details and communicate what we were looking for, we hired him and a second shooter (totally worth it) for six hours, including one hour of getting ready shots. From the moment he walked into our room, I felt at ease. He got straight to work photographing the dress, while keeping a keen eye on any special moments that might be going on while I got ready with my mom and sisters. Meanwhile in the groom's room, his second shooter was hanging with the guys getting some very natural and fun shots with really cool lighting. Ryan seems very passionate about what he is doing, and he's very good with lighting. We had some tough lighting with an early afternoon wedding and lots of shadows in the overhead sun. These didn't stop him from getting some gorgeous photos. I am still getting comments from guests two months later on how beautiful our photos turned out, and it seems that he captured pretty much everyone at the reception, so it was exciting for everyone to look through them. Personality-wise, as my grandmother described him, "Ryan is such a doll!" Even my camera-shy groom felt comfortable taking our photos, and Ryan had us laughing through the shoot. A few family members and friends asked me if Ryan is a friend I hired, because he fit right in at the party. They were surprised to hear I had only met him that day! He was fun and easygoing while still maintaining a sense of professionalism. I cannot say enough good things. Ryan actually crashed our wedding with the photographers we'd hired (Your Inner Song Photography... also GREAT) because Jessica from Your Inner Song was pregnant and they wanted to make sure they were able to get all the shots they would get if she wasn't pregnant. We couldn't be happier with their decision to bring Ryan along. He provided a lot of comic relief with his pleasant and outgoing personality. He had outstanding ideas for some shots he wanted to do and had/has incredible composition. Pure God given talent, for sure. If my husband and I had one word to describe Ryan it would be...AWESOME! We hired Ryan as our wedding & engagement photographer about a year and a half before our wedding. We had searched high and low for photographers in the Temecula area and I was hesitant since we were planning our wedding from out of state and I had no knowledge of the Temecula area at all. My husband, being a typical guy was no help with the wedding but after our engagement shoot on the car ride back he said, "Yep you chose the right photographer". When planning my backyard wedding from scratch, finding a photographer was the most challenging aspect. I looked at what felt like a million websites and nothing seemed to pop. Every portfolio I looked at had the same typical cheesy wedding poses and no life or character. Then I found Ryan's work. Right away I knew we had to use him. I booked him for a shorter than usual time span due to our budget, but he was super organized and efficient in making sure we captured every shot I wanted.
