This place a is a local staple for all things comics or trading card related. I remember this place opening up in the old Luckys shopping center before Trader Joe's was around back in 92. They've moved around a bit, but Kelly, the owner and his son, Aaron are familiar faces when you walk in. They've got a bunch of loyal customers, myself included, and are super fair with all of their pricing. They host regular magic the gathering tournaments, pre-releases, draft nights, and commander events. It's a small LGS, but just this last Sunday, I participated in the 4th Prerelease event that weekend, in which a good 16+ people showed up to play in. It's across the street from a mini mart and Krispy Krunchy Chicken shop, so lots of food options to just come in and chill and enjoy an afternoon or weekend playing cards or checking out the latest comic runs. read more

I'm sorry, but if the word "Comic" is the first word on the name of the store, it should DAMN WELL have a decent selection of Comics. They seem to be a lot heavier on the "Cards" and "Etc" Parts. They only have about 2 Magazine Racks of comics... Its a shame though since this is the only comic shop within a 8 mile radius. Most of the people that come here just wanna play That Magic card game and work on their paintball guns. More power to you if that's what you're into. As for me, I'm just gonna have to settle for a monthly trip to Flying Colors Comics. So... good for Playing Cards nerds... not so cool for Comic nerds. read more

This place has been around for a while and so far I've never been disappointed with any of my visits. I found out about it through friends who frequent it. The staff there is very friendly and extremely helpful. Whether you're looking for Magic cards or Comics they can answer your questions pretty thoroughly. The Magic scene is huge there and the selection is pretty big. Their system is very organized and I would say is a lot better than some of the bigger TCG/hobby game stores I've been to in Concord. It's a small place with a nice, friendly environment. The staff is super helpful and they are very organized with helping you find what you need. My rating reflects the Magic tournaments, as I do not read comics. I have been going to this place for a few months now. I found it by using the Wizards store locator. The store is roughly a 45 minute drive from my home, on a Friday night (due to traffic), 30 minutes on weekends. They run a variety of events on Fridays/Saturdays, rotating between Draft/Standard/Modern/Pauper/Cube/Duel Commander. I generally go here for the draft/standard/modern events. This place is hard to find. It's located between a couple of medical offices. However, there is a small parking lot, and a ton of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. There isn't much in terms of food options here. There's a convenience store and a Foster's Freeze across the street. The store does sell some chips/soda though, in case you need it. The store is small, but when there are 10+ people they set up tables to play outside, and tarp/heaters if it's cold outside. Generally the tournaments are pretty laid back. Often times, when I go to Magic tournaments, my opponent gets super serious/competitive/snarky. But most of the people who play here are nice and easy to get along with. The guy who runs the Magic events (Aaron) is chill and has a good sense of humor. Definitely a place that's worthwhile to drive to if you want to relax on a Friday night or a Saturday afternoon with some Magic. read more

This owner guy older gentlemen ive known been in there for at least 15-18 years, great guy always willing to talk and joke. He always had star wars figures the new 1995 power of the force to present. Went here for the first time the other day to look for some Magic: The Gathering cards. Well, they have them. Lots of em! It's a small shop, but the guy there was super-helpful and pleasant to talk to. Most places if you try to hang out for awhile (like I did) they get an attitude. This dude was completely chill and helped me find whatever I asked for. Selection of comics was pretty thin if that's what you're looking for, but who cares: I was there for cards. They had boosters from Besieged and Scars, tons of random lands for cheap, stuff from Unlimited, Revised, and other sets. Foils, a couple duel decks etc. Paintball gear too. Wierd. read more

This is a great store - perhaps not for its in-stock selection, but for its customer service! This is a small family owned and operated store - sure, it doesn't have racks and racks of comic books. But you know what it does have? It has an owner that will go out of his way to get you whatever it is you want, and he does so quickly and with a discerning eye - I have waited a couple of months before, because what he ordered did not arrive in a condition that HE felt was acceptable, so he sent it back until they sent him an undamaged copy. He boards and bags all of his comics for no additional charge. He gives discounts to customers that have running orders with him. All in all, a great place to shop, and the ONLY place I buy my comics... If you know what you want to read, this is the place to shop. If you don't know what you want to read and are just out looking for new comics, might want to check elsewhere, as the selection is limited. If youre into Magic the Gathering or paintball wars, this is also the place to shop! read more

This place is just okay. Granted, this is only from a one time visit, but if you're coming to look for comics, you should really just go some place else. Sure, they have a few, but not enough if you're looking for a wide selection. But if you're looking for magic cards, go for it. read more

A barely passable comic shop. Unless you're in their subscriptions, they won't have new comics. Their whole store is a dusty mess and the customer service is like trying to ask your father for a $1,000 loan. Walking in, there are two workers, the kind father and the rude son. The son will have no kindness in the way he talks and is inclined to help at all. At first glance, it is just a card and comic shop and then you look deeper and it's just 40% comics, 40% cards and 20% boxes on the floor. The organization is on the level of my little brothers toy collection, he is 6. When you ask to see their back stock of comics, they will just tell you to look in one of their long boxes and find what you want for them to look at the price in Ebay. THAT is the first sign of a bad shop. THAT is where more problems arise. You won't know the budget. And I have gone there a handful of times so this is where the problems grow. The shop has had the same comics on the shelf for the last year while barely having a few new ones to show off. So your only choice is back stock. When you bring up the comics, he will look them up and tell you the price. I went back 4 times to do some casual shopping and thought it was normal. Up until the last time I went where he says I can't look in the back stock anymore due to me only ever buying some of them and not all of them. That is not a good customer service. Your whole job is made harder because of your way of selling the comics and when we have a budget to buy a certain cost of comics, that is the customers side while your side is to do what you can to sell. You instead are choosing to close off sales because it causes too much work for you to just organize or put back a comic, have a set price for a comic (even I do it with my own comics because it saves time) and having to communicate with customers on an agreement. If I were anyone wanting to shop for new comics at all, skip this one. It's not worth the drive or the parking or the rudeness. Shop at either Fantastic Comics out in Berkeley or Stand-Up Comics (they are not closing anymore and are waiting for the up-start soon) if you want better comics. Also through rumors and voice, the owners own son steals magic cards to enhance his deck or has done that in the past. Imagine that. Truly regret giving this place my money. read more

Comic book store that's run by a person that doesn't even know anything about comic books. They have a very limited selection and they don't even have the most recent issues on hand. A very poorly run store by any standard. Also very small space with little room to move around and is very hard to find. I would stay away from this place. There are better places to buy comic books (Fantastic Comics in Berkeley) I recommend that place instead. read more

ya they arent into customer service at all. dont even bother calling for prices. they wont tell you over the phone because they want you to go in person. my mind is blown by this stunt. the shop itself is small with their primary product being mtg. not really a comic portion. the store is an utter mess too. read more
