That has not always been the case, when we have used other groomers. We previously were unhappy with the location in a small strip mall, where getting into and out of the parking lot could be difficult with lines of cars at a fast food restaurant sometimes obstructing access to the lot. But they now have moved across the street to a much larger strip mall having easy access and parking. We now could not be more happy with Earthwise.

Fleer is the second defendant to be convicted in the case. According to court documents filed Feb. 19, 2025, the charge stemmed from an Oct. 17, 2024, incident in which a black poodle, about 2 years old, was found in the middle of Tonganoxie Drive near 199th Street. Two individuals captured the dog, which was later taken to a veterinarian for treatment. Court records state the poodle was severely malnourished, infested with fleas and had matted fur. A scan of the dog's microchip revealed that Jessica and Amanda Fleer owned the dog. On Friday, Aug. 15, Amanda Fleer, 42, also pleaded no contest and was found guilty of cruelty to animals. Sentencing for both women is scheduled for Sept. 19, 2025. "We have a responsibility to properly care for animals," Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson said. "We will continue to hold people accountable when they fail to meet even the most basic standards of care for pets and animals."
