We started our service with WM on June 1st. Every thing was okay until July 24th when our trash wasnt picked up. When I got onto the website it said our trash was picked up at 1:34pm well it wasnt. I called and they said, "we have to put that so it can be added the next day" how does that make sense? Left the trash out for today (july 25th) and it still WASNT picked up. Got ahold of the online chat and they said, "your trash was serviced at 12:02pm today" I told them they were lying that the trash and everything is still sitting by the road. Online chat then said "please wait 24 to 48 hours" you mean to tell me we pay over 30 dollars A MONTH for trash pickup when they dont even do their jobs and then LIE saying they did and we are supposed to be okay with it? So on top of having to PAY for THEIR trash bin and pay 30 a month for pick up when they dont even do their jobs?? Luckily its a trash company because it's just that, TRASH! Save yourself a headache and go with someone else. read more

Wow, just looking up reviews and find that these posted 5-6 years ago, and things haven't changed much. WM from the Brockway district, covering the Union City PA area, the drivers are terrible. Not much better at the administration office. Sure the agents are cordial, but they tell you what you want to hear and nothing happens, ie; driver still does not pick up; not only missing one week but recently 4 weeks, with no pick up. Of course I cancelled my service. Also, if you try to call any WM office, even the corporate HQ, you are put on hold they say for at least a 3-5 minute wait, but you are on hold forever. Terrible that you cannot talk with someone, when you do finally have someone answer after waiting for a long time it feels like you just won the lottery. Terrible company. read more

Absolutely awful to deal with this company. Disgusting customer service. Would never ever recommend this company. I was billed for services I never received at a house I do not own. I was threatened with legal action but could never get hold of anybody who actually knew what they were doing. My own legal action took care of the problem. My advice....avoid this company at all costs! read more

Their service sucks AGAIN. Another Holiday Weekend with no trash pickup. Our cabin rental business turns over a lot of guests and trash especially over a holiday. No pick up, and they said it was picked up. It wasn't. The call center customer service people suck. They have no clue whats going on. They would not credit me the week of no pickup because I didn't call the week of. Stupid. And my bill has gone up AGAIN now I pay $30 more than I did with our other local servicer that they took over. Now they have a monopoly on our area and can get away with raising our rates and charging for things like fuel surcharges, business impact fee and so many more. I hate this company. read more

These "drivers" cant hit the top of their trucks to save their lives... LITERALLY EVERY WEEK I have to clean my neighbors trash from my yard, for 3 years now. I call, I email and all I get are empty threats of a manager coming to my house, in which my response was "good! I have a reusable bag here for them to clean my yard up." Nothing gets done about their TERRIBLE service, a side from the fact that I counted the number of trucks going through this very small neighborhood last week.... 16. 16 trucks... why???? Besides being horribly inefficient with the arms that only pick up one side of the road at a time instead of humans doing both sides at once.. they idle 2x as long, are 2x as loud.... the list goes on.... please leave this neighborhood and dont come back... oh! They have NEVER touch a single piece of my trash and still insist that I owe them money..... read more

This company is a scam. They claim to offer 'recycling' services and treat it like a green initiative. But they don't inform people they are picking up when things change. They now refuse plastic trash bags to fill in recyclables. The issue here, is the container you're given to put recycles in is a bin 2ft by 3 feet by 2 feet(high). So anything loose in there will blow with wind over 10mph. When you live in a valley, wind gusts typically 15mph daily. They tried to promise several times they'd send someone out to make it right, noone ever came out and then the last person I spoke with claimed they said that because it was in bags they still wouldn't take it. They initially told us white plastic bags weren't OK but clear plastic bags were. So I bought them, then they refuse them as well. This company is absolutely horrendous, and I will be doing everything I can in my power to urge my municipality to never sign a new contract with them again. I will be working with other municipalities locally that I have direct contact with already and we will be ensuring this company loses tons of business until they start doing the right thing. This is absolutely no way to run a business, and since they don't actually care about the environment, its clear that they won't be around much longer. read more

They completely gouge you and make it very hard to cancel your contract . The surcharges are insane. Dishonest company. We get service in Philipsburg and they raise prices constantly. Double what other haulers charge. read more

I've had this company for almost four years now and every single time I pay my bill they don't pick my garbage up the next week they claim I didn't pay my bill on time when I did. I might have been a week late but never got any cancellation notices or anything like that. and when I call them up to find out why they didn't pick it up they go on to say I was not scheduled for that day and that they will pick it up the following Monday. do tell me if I have to wat till the following Monday what am I supposed to do with my trash so the animals don't get in to it ad so my landlord don't have an issue with it and I don't want it in my house to smell up the whole house. I would not recommend this company to any one their service sucks along with their attitude. read more

While I had service with them they were adequate (except for the time they tore a bag and strew my garbage across my lawn for me to clean up, or the holidays where there was no service for like 2 weeks) however on discontinuing service with them and moving out of state they have continued to bill me. I called, spoke to a representative and cancelled the service 2 months ago but still receive bills from them. Their call center hours are also craptastic for anyone that works fulltime. Craptastic hours for a craptastic company, please find anyone else in Clarion to pick up your garbage. read more

After years of good service I have become quite disappointed with Advanced Disposal. They will pick up virtually anything on their normal weekly routes with a few exceptions. Items of unusual size and weight must wait for Spring Bulk Waste Week and that is understandable. They will supposedly pick up as much as three "bulky" items up to 40 pounds each during regular weekly pickup. In the past they always picked up my cut ornamental grass which I have always had neatly bundled and tied. The heaviest bundles might reach 20 pounds. This week they picked up my regular trash and left the bundles of ornamental grass sitting by the roadside. When I called their office I was told that I will have to make other arrangements. I presume with Patton Township. Advanced Disposal will gladly pick up who-knows-what but will not pick up dead ornamental grass (neatly prepared for them) which, as far as I know, poses no environmental hazard. It makes no sense. read more

I rented a house in Boiling Springs, PA for exactly one year. The landlord sang praises of the trash company and their recycling program. He had an account with them and all I had to do was call and get an account for billing etc., but they had been picking up his trash/recycling/yard waste for years. Let's just say the disappointment started when I called to set up our account and had to give the operator directions to the house. I thought this was strange, and tried to joke with the operator that the house is between two other houses that have pick up, and that the drivers should get a GPS if it's that much of an ordeal. At the time I was not familiar with PA. I didn't know how to get from Shippensburg to Boiling Springs. So I google mapped it while on the phone with the operator. I set up my account for quarterly billing with the bins. I have to say, I never had any issues with the trash/recycling services. It was ALL with the customer service operators. Anyways, I paid for the first quarter and was told I would receive a bill in the mail for the next quarter in about 2 months. Except I never got a bill. After about four months, I called to see why not because I didn't want the trash/recycling services to be suspended. I was informed that my landlord had paid so far in advance + the one quarter payment I had made would take me through August 2016, which was past the end of my lease. Awesome! I verified that I wouldn't have to make anymore payments. Double awesome! Why wasn't I informed of this when I set my account up though??? Then, in February, we received a whole bunch of tags. I guess the other service they offer is tags for trash (not in bins). I thought it was weird but didn't do anything with them, until a bill for $72.00 came. I called, explained that I did not want tags, nor did I order tags, and was not going to pay the $72.00. The customer service operator instructed me to send them back and they would take the charge off my account. I verified again that I didn't have a balance and my service was good through the end of August. No other bills or tags were received in the mail. Until June. I received a bill with a 90 day past due balance and a 30 day past dues balance. This made no sense and I called the customer service operator and explained the situation and that I was under the assumption that I was paid through the end of August, and since I would be leaving in the middle of July I wouldn't have to worry about anymore payments. After much back and forth, and no real answer as to how a 90 day past due balance accrued with no bills being sent, I paid the small amount. Yay for great no-sort recycling. Boo for awful billing and dubious calculations for service. read more

I was unhappy with Advanced and changed to Williams Sanitation with whom I was very happy. Then Williams sold to Advanced so I am right back to square one. Advanced's service has not improved. Today they missed my pickup and no explanation from their office as to why. Bills keep increasing and service keeps decreasing. Looking for a different carrier. read more

Advance is unreliable and over charges for services not done. Have left several messages with no return calls or explanation on bill overcharge. Pay for pick up every other week but am lucky if it gets picked up monthly. Still get charges over $150 a month regardless if trash is picked up. read more

Their service has gone downhill and their customer service is terrible, right down there with Comcast. Over the years, our carrier changed hands repeatedly, ending up with Advanced Disposal. Last fall they missed a pick-up and when I called I got the third degree about everything we might have done wrong that could have made the driver leave our trash. We hadn't done anything wrong. No refund for the missed pick-up and they made it sound like a favor that they would pick up all of our trash the next week. Several weeks ago, another missed pick-up. This time they said their truck broke down. No plans to notify us, to pick up our trash, or to refund us. We ended our relationship with them that day. read more
