Me and my partner moved in together about 5 months ago, and we've slowly been replacing all the awful Wayfair furniture that I started with. I knew I didn't want to go to a big box furniture store--I grew up on a La-Z-Boy sectional that hurt my tailbone numerous times I didn't do a ton of research on furniture--in fact, we tried to go to another custom furniture store first, but on our way there I realized the other place was appointment only. I'm disabled so I can't guarantee when I'll have a good enough day to get out of the house, I needed a walk-in. We were on the freeway and I plugged the next possible store into Maps, which was Arte Fina. The store itself was lovely, and we browsed a bit on our own after Tim welcomed us in. Each setup had a sheet nearby of all the possible orientations, and we managed to mix and match something perfect for us. Tim also helped us a lot--I mentioned to him that I have a progressive spine disease that I'm on chemotherapy for, so some days I spend a lot of time on the couch in pain or recovering, and I needed something soft and supportive. The first cushion material I looked at was a synthetic down, and Tim mentioned that it probably wouldn't hold up the way I would need it to for supporting my spine and joints. He suggested one from the back of the store that we hadn't seen, and it was perfect. It was also closer to our budget than the first one we looked at. The couch was delivered on the 13th business day--I never would've expected it to be done so quickly, but I'm so glad it was! Tim also arranged for his delivery guy to do a haulaway for us for $200. I've used junk companies for big furniture before though, and those START at $250-300. I'd also like to add, this was the first time me and my partner made a major purchase together and I was given more attention than he was. Typically, even though I'm the one in charge of our finances right now, he gets spoken to and consulted way more than me. We speculated, and it could be because there's a stereotype about women making more of the interior design decisions, but whatever the reason was it was greatly appreciated. My dressers are next on the list--I will absolutely come back to Arte Fina when I'm ready.

I have been buying furniture for 25 years and have never experienced customer service like this…read more Spending $13000 at a business should come with a level of respect not aggressive attitude, defensive deflections, or being called "picky" just because you want the exact design you paid for. This turned into an exhausting 11-month ordeal with Italy 2000. The dining chairs originally delivered were noticeably different and lower quality than the showroom model. When I contacted the owner, (Ray) he became extremely confrontational and at one point yelled at me over the phone while I was at work, which my coworkers witnessed. They took the chairs back and allowed us to select another set, promising a 3-4-month turnaround. It took 5 months, with repeated promises of "2 more weeks" or "10 more days." Before the second delivery, I specifically called to confirm the chairs because of what happened the first time. When they finally arrived, they were wrong again. The showroom model had clean, seamless cushions with no piping. The delivered chairs had piping around the cushions and poor stitching. When I pointed this out, Ray dismissed my concern and called me "picky." Expecting a product to match the showroom model you selected isn't being picky. They ultimately refunded me, but even that involved an argument over a restocking fee. After spending $13000 and dealing with this for nearly a year, the biggest issue wasn't just the furniture. It was how I was treated when I simply asked them to deliver what I had purchased. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Italy 2000.
