Stopped in for the very first time and found that the food was totally outstanding. Fresh, hot, and prepare to perfection. The service was ok. Quick to take my order and to get the food out. Coming from San Francisco, California, we were shocked to find Wok & Roll. There Chinese dishes are delicious and definitely the best in Mason. I've dined here on a few occasions and have always been pleased. Last night we decided to order take out while running some errands. We ordered online using the beyond menu website. It was easy to use and efficient, the only thing I didn't care for was I wasn't given an estimated time to pick up, but overall I love the option of online ordering. When I went to pick up the order our food was ready and I was in and out of the restaurant in 3 minutes. We ordered two entrees, General Tso's chicken and Mongolian Beef, rice, lo mein, and an order of crab wontons. We both enjoyed our meal. I had the Mongolian beef and it was well seasoned and tender pieces. The sauce has good flavor with a hint of pepper in it, along with the onions and shredded carrots it goes well together. My husband had the General's which he liked as well. The fried rice was good, standard fried rice. The lo mein was excellent, good flavor, lots of veggies and well prepared noodles. But the star of the meal were the wontons. I wish we had ordered more. They were light, crispy, full of delicious crab, and piping hot. We will be back and look forward to exploring more menu items. Everything came at a reasonable price as well, the total order was $25, not bad for dinner for two! read more

This review is just for the bar side of the establishment, not the restaurant side. A friend and I were in Mason City a while back and spent some time hanging out on the square. Wok 'n' Roll was probably my favorite of the bars we visited downtown. It wasn't so much because of the clean, elegant setting of the bar; it was really because the bartender working that night was one of the coolest bartenders I've had. He had a great sense of humor and some interesting stories. It was very easy to carry on conversations with him, and he was able to easily divide his time among everyone and not ignore other customers. read more

Really wanted more from this place, apparently the only place in town for Chinese. Ordered the calamari as a starter and if they would have left out the salt stuff they topped it with it would have been a whole lot better. I know the squid is a sea creature but it tasted like I was eating all of the salt from the pacific! Next up the drunk street noodles. The noodles were OK but the combination of meats, they were less, way less than tasty and that is being generous. Dry noodles and questionable meat products make this a no go. Too bad as I am in town for a few days and would have patronized this place frequently but that is NOT going to happen. read more

I absolutely love this place and is now the only place I eat Chinese at in town. It's a bonus that it's only a cpl blocks from my office. By far the best Chinese food in town. Their yellow sauce is amazing. I like spicy food so the fact you can ask for any dish extra spicy is great. Their spicy yellow sauce is what legends are made of. They also have a weird spicy sauce that I think they only give to regulars. When you mix the spicy sauce with the yellow sauce it's amazing. So spicy it can make you cry, but it's half tears of joy cause it tastes so good and half tears of spicyness. Kung Pao tofu, general tso chicken, Singapore street noodles and veggie lo mein are the best things on the menu. Oh, and the egg rolls are amazing. I could eat it every day. Was down in Clear Lake working in Iowa Falls & decided to truck into Mason City to try this place. SO glad me & my work partner gave this place a try, nice quiet, clean place kind of out of the way, very fresh tasty food & very polite service (rare to find these days)! Appetizers & entrees were all good & good sized portions, served fresh hot out of the kitchen. I would definitely come back if I am in Mason City again! I doubt anyone would be disappointed here unless they just complain about anything anyways. read more

I asked for a customized vegetarian Singapore Noodle with just tofu and the noodles were a bit dry though there was even some faint wok-hei! I then ordered Ma-Po Tofu for take-out: the sauce was thin but there were actual peppercorns. read more
