They picked what they wanted. Mary Ann called me after she left work to set everything up. She went back to do the despot and we were all set. Came in ready to go, Amanda took care of my table . Everything was on point . I was able to get my food needs meet and my customers got to enjoy a great meal. The area we ate in could use some updates that's why I gave it the rating. On Sept 10th two friends and my self ordered the noon Special. (Prime rib) hot beef sandwich. After a few bites we all agreed it needed to be sent back. So over salted, didn't taste right. We celebrated a birthday and had a nice dinner with friends.... Food and service was great. Our only complaint was our table was located by the kitchen swinging doors and very time to doors opened a gush of cold air came in to the dining area. The decor has a classic supper club vibe with dark wood and leather booths. The chair upholstery has seen better days, but there is still upscale ambiance. Service was attentive and friendly. We started with onion rings that were hot and crispy, served with ketchup and ranch. I chose the filet mignon off the Early Bird Menu (good until 6 pm) and my dining partner, the blackened sirloin. Both served with baked potato and soup or salad. I went with the seafood bisque, which was creamy with a tomato base and a few seafood bits. It was tasty, but not exceptional. The filet mignon, the star of the dinner, was served perfectly medium rare and had delicious Greek garlicky flavor. Paired with the Copper Ridge merlot it was a very good steak experience. I took my family there last night, I got terribly sick from food poisoning. It lasted from midnight-3:30 am. I think it was the bacon wrapped scallops. Sadly, when I called today and spoke to the manager, he was very rude. He told me I had a flu bug. He told me there was no way I could get food poisoning within 24 hours after eating a meal. One of our favorite places to eat and we live 4 hours away..so when passing nearby we always include a delicious meal at this authentic Iowa supper club and Friday night we made reservations for the Early Bird menu and we feasted on prime rib and blackened sirloin. They feature Greek food, too, Service was superb.. the drinks were refreshing.. a perfect evening. I was in town for a work trip. My wife drove nine hours to come see me over the weekend so we decided to go somewhere nice for dinner judging by the pictures this place look phenomenal better than the other steakhouse has in town when we got there the ambience was nice, but they had an MMA fight on and Rodney Dangerfield movie which I'm not against either one of those but spending that kind of money on a nice dinner. That's not what I expected to see, the bacon wrapped pretty decent and we got fried fried cheese which resembled Arby's fried cheese and be honest Arby's fried cheese is a lot better. My wife got the garlic mushroom ribeye, which I believe the men said that it was char broiled, but it came out completely gray void of any kind of color. It was overcooked and the flavor just wasn't there. I got the seafood platter which had walleye, salmon, and shrimp on it and the dill sauce on the salmon was probably the best part of the dish. The shrimp was passable. The walleye was almost edible. I will say our server was very attentive but once again for the price points, it did not meet any of the expectations that we had. read more

We were able to order take out and after the first night of the best seafood Alfredo I've ever had we came back again. Completely satisfied, the people were so friendly and the food is delicious! We finally tried prime n' Wine and am so glad we did. We had the Greek appetizer that I am unable to pronounce. If you love spinach, try it. It's a baked thin pastry like dough around spinach and a dry cheese. We added it inside our cod and it was delicious there too. I had the blackened sirloin without the blackened. Perhaps the most tender sirloin I have ever had in my life! I am not kidding. Even the basic side dish of steak fries was perfect. Hot and crispy just how they should be but usually aren't anywhere else. There was no possibility of dessert for us. The place was busy on a Tuesday night. Prices were more than fair for what you got and they offer a huge variety. Where else can you get Greek, seafood, pasta steaks and lighter fare? We loved the place and wish we would have tried it long ago! The outside doesn't lend itself to the quality of food that it houses and that's probably why we always just drove on by. It's kind of 90s steakhouse with lots of different areas and variety of atmosphere. We've paid way more and received way less before but Prime n' Wine did not disappoint. We will def be back. They also offer a great deal on Thursday night for Date Night. All for two people for only $36 bucks total! read more

If I could give PNW 6 stars I would. Their food is awesome, it always has been. My husband and I go there frequently and have never been disappointed. Today I ordered my favorite meal on door dash and it was for some reason. The correct order didn't go through due to issues with with the way the menu was displayed. I called the front desk and despite being very busy, the lady at the front desk said she would look into it and call me back. She promptly called me back, said they fixed the issue online and offered to send me the correct order free of charge. The owner of the restaurant personally dropped the order off at my house and said they had fixed the issue with door dash. I mean that type of customer service is amazing and they truly went above and beyond. I will continue to go there and recommend PNW to anyone and everyone. read more

Seated upon arrival. Had 2 very tasty dinners app and dessert all fun for less than $50 plus tip. Great deal on very good filet and salmon dinner. Greek app and cheesecake dessert. We attended an extended family gathering here hosted by my cousin. This place is known to be the best steakhouse in the Mason City area, and our experience supported that reputation. It has an older, dark supper club feel to it but we were in our own private banquet room for our group of 26 and which was well lit and quite fine for the occasion. The total dining space for this steakhouse is also quite large as the building may have originally been a night club or supper club sort of business and with tons of parking. They also have an unusual menu - a combination of a prime steakhouse menu alongside a Greek menu due apparently to the Greek heritage of the owner. The dinner we had was quite nice with salads, appetizers, and steak/prime rib/seafood. Their menu also includes Greek as mentioned and some pastas. Service was very friendly though a little slow, and it certainly did not hurt that my cousin knew the servers too. The salads were mediocre as they were lukewarm by the time we got them, but would otherwise have been fine if chilled. The pre-ordered appetizers which were pita bread, calamari, beef tenderloin skewers, and saganaki were quite good and above average. But the star of the meal were the meat offerings and I myself had a 14 ounce prime rib medium rare. Wife had their garlic mushroom ribeye steak done medium and both servings were high-quality delicious and done just the way we wanted. We did Easter brunch here. The food felt like a college dorm. Lots of fried and starchy food. All the meat choices were dry and flavorless. The buffet was set up in a small room that had a very crowded feel. We had a party of 4 and they added an automatic 18% tip-keep in mind it was a buffet so limited service was needed. read more

They pride themselves on their consistently cooked to order cuts of steak, and after going a handful of times, I can say it is not without proper claim. They also have some nice dolmathes/dolmades. Service is smooth. I tend to sit in the bar area but the one time I sat in the main area it was equally dark and with a relaxing ambiance. Honestly for the cuts, quality, and price, you can't snag a better deal. They also have an early bird special (4-6 PM) for those who prefer an earlier dinner or want to snag a delicious meal for an unbelievable price. I've come once before during this time period and can attest that the quality is not sacrificed just because you want to dine while the sun is still up. My only quip is the garlic mashed potatoes could have more garlic in it, but that's me just wanting to essentially breathe fire via garlic breath. This was my second visit. Frankly the first visit the service was good but the food just average. I had the scallops that night and was not overly impressed. As a matter of fact I would not have gone back by choice but I was the guest of a co-worker so I let them choose. So thankful! Tonight I started with a delicious house made blue cheese salad and rolls that were hot and crispy while being perfectly chewy. That would have been good enough but then I had the garlic grilled chicken pasta. Perfect! This was the best pasta I have eaten in a very long time. My only regret was the salad and bread before hand so I had less room for the pasta. I will be back the next time I am in town! read more

Dry chicken, sickly sweetened dessert, soggy salad and old, hard bread rolls that have likely been used and reheated many times. Dated decor and food that has not kept up with the times. We were there for the early bird dinner and our rolls were moldy. My husband had eaten 1/2 of a roll when he discovered the mold. The waitress took the rolls away and couldn't understand why he'd eaten part of one... I believe they should have done something more than just bring us new rolls...albeit they were wheat rolls instead of the white ones. The pork chops were over cooked. The salmon was fishy. Nope. I rarely take myself out for a very nice and expensive dinner, but I thought I would treat myself for Valentine's Day this year. My mother and bestie and I chose the Prime and made early reservations for 4:00. Even though there was a wind advisory, we braved the frigid weather and drove from out of town. When we arrived we were one of very few tables there, so we asked if we could sit In the cozy, red bar room. We were told no by a very gruff hostess and then led to the sun porch. Windows were cracked and we were serenaded by the whistling wind as we hoped they didn't break and let in all the cold air! I figured the dill salmon would be worth it. It was not. It was as cold as we were and the dill hollandaise had sad puddles of grease pooling on top. It looked lonely all alone on the big white plate as our potatoes got their own plate; presentation left a bit to be desired. Sooo... I thought I'd make up for it with a glorious piece of red velvet cake. That was a mistake. It was more of a dry brick of colored sugar. We all tried it, but that was all as we agreed it wasn't worth trying a second bite. We informed the waiter when he asked how the cake was, and he asked if we wanted him to tell the chef. Strange response. What happened?!?! The Prime used to be the go to spot for a delicious dinner! I feel like I just wasted an incredible amount of money on a very poor meal. Next time I'll stay home and cook and put some capers on my salmon!! Flavor is always a good addition to every meal. Sorry, I try to stay positive, but the only thing positive about this visit to the Prime was the company I dined with , the appetizer (saganaki) and the chocolate martinis. It was just a year ago I wrote a five star review as I had a wonderful experience. I guess a lot can change in a year. Came to Mason city from Oklahoma for business ask hotel for a steak house which they recommended two different restaurants . I went to prime and wine for a NY strip and drinks. Wait staff was great bar tender was awesome food was above 5 stars fresh hot and ample portions. Went back a second night customers and wait staff make it family felt restaurant. Just Ok is the theme. It's a supper club kind of place. We didn't have a reservation because we had some confusion with reservation online. Thought it was only for parties of 12 or more. We were open to sitting in the bar and lucky to get a booth. The bartender was our waiter. The problem was the wait, an hour and half. That's just too long to get served food. I had the walleye which was good but not great. Waiter did apologize for wait but could have offered us a drink or dessert on the house? Won't be back. read more
