The bed was comfortable, but I would recommend checking for spiders before you jump in. There are many nice trails on the property, swings and a zip line (even adults can ride it!). Our favorite part was undoubtedly were the rabbits that wandered around the property (they love marshmallows). Additionally there is a cooking shack with a propane grill and a kettle. You will need to bring a pan and cooking utensils. Overall a quiet and nice experience.

It was great to curl up on the couch with wine and a movie after a long, cold, wet day of hiking in Olympic National Park. The kitchen is updated and fully stocked, even had spices and such. There's a small dining area where we ate breakfast every morning. The price is great and way below any of the waterfront "resorts" I also found online. We ended up driving past some of the other places I considered and they looked like dumps. Our house was adorable and actually probably the nicest house in town, from what we witnessed. The location is unbeatable for trips into the Rainforest and Olympic National Park. Port Angeles is a quick 45-60 minute drive if you need a "city." The drive from Seattle airport to Forks is beautiful and was definitely a great part of our trip. A note on Forks, WA: This place is weird. Of course I'm aware of the Twilight phenomenon and the role Forks plays. There is NOTHING here. There are a couple of poor to mediocre restaurants. A main street with some everyday shops, hardware stores, and bizarre Twilight themed shops. We didn't spend any time in the town except for a couple dinners. We found Pacific Pizza to be the least disappointing. We would totally stay here again and would definitely recommend to friends.

The place was accommodating, and we had a really nice trip. However, on the morning we checked out, around 8 AM, three of the owners showed up at our door demanding that we pay for our stay. I asked if I could pay after we checked out, and they started cursing at me and threatening me in front of my son. I promptly paid, and the three of them calmed down very quickly. I later found out that a different campsite, not ours, had not paid. While that is unfortunate, taking that anger out on my family was completely unacceptable. I do want to say that our stay was pretty amazing up until this point. They were very accommodating, including helping us with fresh towels. Sadly, this incident at the end was absurd and really ruined the experience.

If you're ok with that, you will have a lovely time. Jimmy is a kind man who opens up his home to you, letting you use his kitchen and fridge. He sits with you making conversation while you prepare dinner, and is happy to give tips on where to visit. He reminds me a bit of my grandparents, and how they would wave goodbye to me as I pulled out of the driveway. It felt nice to talk to someone who is actually from the area and get an insider perspective. There is no grocery store or restaurant nearby, so plan to pack your food in from wherever you're coming in from.

We arrived an hour before check-in (around 8pm) and we met Jimmy who seemed surprised that we showed up. The minute you walk in you are accosted by a strong scent of mold, and feel as if you've entered a time warp to the year 1975. Jimmy is most definitely an old-school hippy who likely has not had much human interaction beyond those who frequent his "hostel." He explained the rules of his house and we quickly learned from our surroundings that he is a hoarder, is very particular about his things, and likes to hover. He made us pretty uncomfortable. We assumed the chores we would be doing would be to the overall benefit of the hostel/ community living lifestyle, however in the morning we found ourselves doing his yard work. Half of us were throwing sticks out of the yard back into the forest, and myself and two others were on our hands and knees literally HAND CUTTING his grass with tiny hand saws. This is not a joke. Let me make one thing clear THIS IS NOT A HOSTEL by today's standards. This is a poorly run air bnb run by an old grouchy hoarder and yes, you are living in his HOME. Please be aware that during a conversation we had with him regarding paying via checks he said NOT to make them out to the Rainforest Hostel as it is "cheaper" for him not to run an ACTUAL BUSINESS. To me, this is a pretty huge red flag as he is essentially doing this off the grid without any regulations. How he got a highway sign that looks legit and says "hostel" is a mystery. There are no locks on any bedroom doors, and it is dirty. I cleaned dead spiders out of my bed before I fell asleep. Had there been any wifi in the area I would have sought out alternative lodging. If you are a woman traveling alone, or anyone with small children DO NOT STAY HERE. I didn't feel like Jimmy was dangerous, but I know he is creepy enough to make me feel uncomfortable even thinking about anyone I know going this route alone. Also there are tons of dangerous things in the hostel - like PILES OF AXES laying about that would be extremely dangerous for small children.

I went with a couple friends, one who was a non-Twilighter, but was soon converted once she experienced this tour. We signed up for the $40 Bella Sunset tour from 6-9 pm which was a tour of the locations inspired by the Stephenie Meyer Twilight Saga and also included areas that were somewhat featured in the movies as well. Our tour guide/driver/photographer/bonfire cook was Randy, the husband of Debbie who helps coordinate these tours on www.teamforks.com. The tour cost $43.40 which included taxes and fees and easily payable online. Debbie let us know via email that this tour was similar to the other ones they advertise on their website, but this one includes a bonfire complete with hot dogs and smores. Being the food lover and Twi-Hard fan, I convinced my friends to purchase this tour to which they agreed was a fairly reasonable price. Randy drove us to several locations such as: Cullen house, Swan house, Police station, Fork's high school, and get this...LA PUSH BABY, LA PUSH! Yes this is the only tour group allowed on Jacob Black's Indian reservation!!! So if you are a fan of the Twilight mania, then book your tour through Team Forks and it will be an adventure that will you make you sparkle everytime!
