Decided we would take the family out to wolf hollow today. We checked the website which told us they open at 1:00 and the show starts at 1:30. So we packed up the car and took the hour and a half drive to get there, just to show up to a line of cars outside. We got in the line of cars, and someone who works there came over and told us they were sold out, and gave us a pamphlet which is a notice that they have become extremely busy over the past few months and cannot accommodate all guests. Then the guy tells us we can come back for a second show at 2:45, which isn't a full show like the 1:30 one, it's informal, and short, but guess what.....it's still the same price at the full show. On top of that, every car in front of us was let in. We will never be going back there, all that crap on the brochure they hand you when they get there about high visitor volume, but of course not one mention of it on the website. This is extremely bad customer relations, and in 2017 no business should be operating like this. They say it's a wildlife preserve, maybe if they got their shit together they could accept more visitors and make some money to use to actually help protect wolves. I have never been more aggravated. Bottom line, don't waste your time with this place. Go to the Stone or Franklin Park Zoos, where you're guaranteed to not be turned away, and it's always a good time with lots to learn. Really cool experience. My 11-year-old loves wolves so we made the trip for his birthday. It was interesting for both adults and kids and the wolf pups were so adorable. Glad they included info on conservation and manmade threats to wolf populations. If you love wolves, write your congress-people to keep them from rolling back protections for these threatened animals. read more

There were many children in the audience that were very engaged and asking good, important questions - very inspiring. Wolf hollow is a great way to see wolves up close in a natural environment. I like the way the staff here truly cares about the animals and informing the public about the "Truth about wolves" Its an hour long presentation and they don't mind you getting up close to the fence to take a picture. its a cool thing to do with school groups or children, or the every day nature fan. I recently went to Wolf Hollow in a large family group. I was blown away. I hadn't researched it much previous to going, preferring to be surprised, as it was someone else's idea. Treat someone who loves animals, surprise them with Wolf Hollow. Most people I have spoken to since visiting have never heard of it, and it truly is a unique and educational (FUN) experience! Hopefully more and more people will learn of the magic of this place, and help it flourish. Much has been said about the staff (I also agree that they are knowledgable, professional and friendly) in other reviews so I'll just give some of my favorite highlights. Twice during our visit did the alpha assert himslef. He halted Zee's lesson by propping his paws on his chest, and showing his teeth, growling and barking. It never felt like Zee had ANY lack of controll! His command of the situation was more than impressive. He paused, relayed his understanding to... I believe the wolf's name was Weebo, and then calmly resumed his speech. Zee's loose charisma and enthusiasm for the questions, especially from children, made the hour FLY by! Although he clearly has a strong rap about important facts, it never feels rehearsed or mechanical. One child asked how he trained the wolves: He responded by asking "Do they seem trained?" They do NOT. The lesson was totally free form, as the wolves do wolf things. It is very real pack behavior, and the wolves are permitting Zee to do his thing for a short time. WOW. After it was over we were not rushed out, and my niece and nephew were allowed to linger along with other patrons to check out the other enclosures. A staff member was available for any questions about the other wolves. The price was SO reasonable (I would pay triple for this)...again, this is a completely unique experience. The gift shop is very nice and I urge you to read the articles on the wall...they'll open your eyes. Clearly this is a passionate love for Zee, and something that is shared in his family. The lecture was great, the price was VERY reasonable, and the people who worked there really took the time to answer all of our questions and were very friendly. I highly recommend going to this place, I'm not super into nature or animals, but it's incredible how important wolves are to nature and to humans. read more

Was a wonderful experience! I LOVE wolves and just had to make the trek up to Ipswich. Made it just in time for the 1:30 presentation and it was all very informative and the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. The wolves are all incredible and beautiful, and can be seen up close and personal. At the end of the presentation we even watched them eat a deer that had gotten hit earlier that morning, so that was pretty interesting! Admission was very reasonable. If you are an animal lover you will LOVE this place! We went on St. Patrick's Day randomly and it turned out to be a perfect day because it was cold. The tour guy said the wolves are more active when it is cold! The wolves started all howling when we got there! Bundle up because the hour long viewing is outside in a arena seating area. They have about 8 wolves. There were lots of kids present. The speaker was fun and informative but the best part is seeing the wolves so close! We also got some cool hoodies proceeds benefitting the wolves! All in all a great time!!!! Also you can take as many pics as you like during and after! read more

First, we booked a private encounter through Excitations.com. So we got a private tour and actually got to enter the enclosure to interact with the wolves. Though it's more expensive than the typical admission fee, it makes for an incredible experience. After the private encounter, we stayed for the lecture. It was extremely informative. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and makes the whole experience entertaining and fun. The crowd is very involved, and everyone's questions get answered. It's a very laid back, comfortable environment where everything from serious conservation issues to comical wolf behaviors are discussed. Very interesting insights, views, and comparisons are presented. This was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend for anyone interested in animals and/or the environment. It is a very family friendly event, and the kids I saw were asking tons of questions and getting really involved. Very cool. I loved the whole thing. read more

This place was a real gem of a find and in an unexpected place. I randomly saw someone post of Facebook about a wolf sanctuary out on Cape Ann and was intrigued to find out more. I did some research and found out about Wolf Hollow. Wolf Hollow is a wolf sanctuary in Ipswich and is a non-profit organization, completely staffed by volunteers. They are open weekends during the warmer months (weather permitting) and only on Sundays during the cooler months. Prices are a bit steep for something that doesn't take up much time (about 1-2 hours including the presentation and perusing the gift shop). It is about 8.50$ for adults and 6 for kids. Now I say that because like myself, many of us are on shoe-string budgets, but it is completely worth it to give to such an awesome organization. You wouldn't even think that the staff weren't getting paid for what they were doing, as everyone seems so happy and are so knowledgeable. The presenter the day we went was a middle school teacher but you would think he was a professional zoologist. This was a very organized and educational experience and is perfect for kids and adults of all ages. We were trying to figure out why the day we went was so packed and realized that it was the Sunday after April vacation. There were lots of children of all ages and a couple of boy scout troops. There are lots of opportunities for Q & A if you are curious about the habits and lives of wolves. Great conservation effort and they have saved wolves (and wolf-dog hybrids, which are illegal in MA) from euthanization. I highly recommend checking this out and if you don't live in the area (I live in RI), making a day out of it with all of the other awesome things to do on Cape Ann. read more

There were only my husband and I the day we were there and, as we already knew quite a bit about wolves - their "family" life, their socialization and interaction - got to spend more than an hour with the animals. I LOVE wolves, and this was one of the great experiences of my life. So good, in fact, that a friend and I are planning to return in late spring. read more

Owner gave us lots of information about the wolves, and they were available to see in their chain link fence enclosures. The group size was limited to seating under a shade cover. Questions were answered well. Children 5 and up would keep their interest, not toddlers. read more

This is my favorite thing I've done this summer! I went today to the 1:30 show with my girlfriend. We purchased tickets online this morning and thank god we did. We got there 15 mins early and it was absolutely packed. Buy online before and get there early!!! Zee, the co-owner, gave the presentation with three real wolves right there! Staff interacted with the wolves, were extremely knowledgeable about the animals and about conservation efforts and even public environmental policy. They were also great with kids, using the audience to interact with and giving us some amazing views of the wolves on their property. We also got to see three newly born wolf puppies! This is an absolutely amazing place with the most dedicated staff. This is a must for families, couples, science geeks and people that care about the earth! It's very reasonably priced and the money is for a good cause. This is a 10/10 no brainer. read more

What a wonderful experience! I bought tickets online as I am almost 2 hours away and didn't want to make the trip and not be able to get in. And very glad I did as it was very busy. It was encouraging to see how many people were there to learn and support the wolves and what Wolf Hollow is doing. Zee did a GREAT presentation. The kids were fascinated. Ended our family vacation with a trip to Wolf Hollow. Wasn't sure what to expect. The presentation about the lives of wolves lasted for about an hour. Audience members were seated comfortably on bench seating under a shelter/shed roof facing a very large, meadow enclosure (secure chained link double fencing). Three wolves arrived to watch us. Such majestic creatures! One of their handlers gave the presentation. Great audience participation Q & A to engage the children (and adults). All very nicely done. Seating, parking and show times are very limited so get your tickets in advance. We arrived to a packed house and a line of cars down the road! So glad we went. read more

This place was really cool. We brought kids ages 5, 8, 11 & 13. We were all entertained. We traveled about 1.5 hours and well worth the trip. You sit and watch the wolves together in a natural habitat while someone tells you facts about the wolves and questions & answers. The wolves were active the whole time. read more

Tiny enclosure with too many wolves for the room allotted for them. Staff not up to date with scientific data on wolves. They claim the money goes to the wolves upkeep but the fences around the property are totally decrepit and suggest otherwise. I'm shocked they are still in business and licensed to house these poor creatures. Every time I go to see the wolves I keep hoping it has gotten better, for their sake...but no such luck, unfortunately. The wolves are beautiful but thats about it.
