Our family has been part of Dublin Robotics' journey for nearly 10 years, since its inception, and…read morethe experience has been truly rewarding. My older son developed strong engineering, problem-solving, and cognitive skills through designing and building robots. The program strengthened his foundation in STEM while also helping him develop essential soft skills, including teamwork, leadership, communication, and social confidence. My younger son currently attends Dublin Robotics and is also completing an internship there. He speaks highly of the program's thoughtful structure and supportive environment. The instructors nurture each student's individual abilities and build confidence through engaging curricula in robotics, drones, artificial intelligence, and autonomous robot development. Dublin Robotics also gives students opportunities to challenge themselves through multiple levels of competition, including state, national, and world championships. As a parent, I wholeheartedly recommend Dublin Robotics to other families. It is an excellent place for children to explore STEM, discover their potential, develop lifelong skills, and become confident future innovators.

Our son has had a bad experience here.  He says that he gets a piece of paper to work off of, and…read morethe coaches come by every once in awhile and ask if it is ok, and that is about the extent of the coaching.  He has had problems with parts missing from his project as other students take things out of his bin when they can't find something.  They are usually the high demand parts, so he has a really tough time replacing them.  When he asks the coaches, they tell him to go look for the part, and he spends a good portion of the time looking for parts as they don't provide it for him.   He says when he has a question, several other smaller kids interrupt, and the coach's attention gets scattered, and they don't answer his question ultimately.   So, all in all, he is not able to make much progress week to week.  I was shocked, as the per lesson cost of this program is almost the price of private music or tennis instruction, that he would get so little attention and help.  Something so simple as the low availability of parts is something that could be managed, and there should be enough coaches to answer the kids' questions. I had asked about the competition path last summer and was told our son had to learn the basics for about a year first. When we said we would like to cancel, all of a sudden, this competition "class" was an option. I suspect that this basically operates like a daycare with legos for most, and all the actual coaching gets saved for the few kids in competition.

My exprience with Brilliant Minds has been awful to say the least…read more My first interaction was with the owner Syeda Tabassum. We had a very candid conversation where I set clear expectations for what I needed in order for my son to attend. Because I commute far distances for work and travel frequently, one of my requirements included drop-off service. When I asked if they offered this service, Syeda advised that she needed to speak with the center Director Mrs. Ramala and follow-up. Later that week, I attended open house (Per Syeda's recommendation) and met with Syeda and Ramala in-person and discussed requirements further. Drop off service was a primary area of concern because my son had attend Glitter Kids (their direct competitor) a couple of months prior and after a week or so they advised they could no longer provide drop-off services. However, both assured me this would not be an issue at Brilliant Minds. On 8/2 my son started their summer camp as a way to get acclimated and prepared for the new school year. On 8/14 he started their after school program. On 8/16 I was told by Syeda they could no longer provide drop off services and that I had 2 weeks to locate another facility for my son. This mishap is very unfortunate and has created a very stressful situation. As a parent finding a reliable, honest and trustworthy center is critical for our children's long-term success.

I wanted to share my personal experience with Mathnasium in Dublin so other parents know what to…read moreexpect. A friend recommended Mathnasium to me, and I found the Dublin location online. I eventually registered for an assessment through their Facebook page. At no point during the online registration process or on the Facebook page did I see any mention that there was a fee for the assessment. I have no problem paying a reasonable assessment fee if it is clearly disclosed upfront. In fact, my daughter has had assessments at two other tutoring centers, and both clearly stated the cost during registration. Transparency is important. The assessment had been scheduled for about three weeks. A few hours before the appointment, the owner called me and said he wanted to go over a few things about the assessment. I was at work and in a hurry, so I told him my daughter would be attending with her father the following morning and that I understood it was simply an assessment to determine her level, after which we would decide whether to enroll.I then said- and it is free of cost.  He then mentioned there was "a small fee." When I asked how much the fee was, he repeatedly said he wanted to discuss several things with me before disclosing the amount. I explained that I simply wanted to know the fee because it had not been disclosed anywhere online. Since my husband was taking our daughter, I did not want him arriving and being surprised by an unexpected charge. After I asked several times, he finally told me the assessment fee was $114. Again, I want to emphasize that the amount itself was not the issue. I was simply disappointed that the fee had not been disclosed during registration. At that point, the conversation changed. His tone became noticeably less pleasant, and he began asking questions such as, "What are you looking for for your child?". "Why did you register- then ?"  and "Why do you want your child here in this program?" I found the conversation uncomfortable because I was simply trying to understand the assessment fee before deciding whether to proceed. I explained that I was working and needed to get off the phone, but I felt pressured to continue the discussion. Ultimately, I canceled the appointment. My decision had nothing to do with the $114 fee. I am happy to invest in my daughter's education. What concerned me was the lack of upfront disclosure about the assessment cost and the change in tone during the conversation. As a parent, first impressions matter. If I don't feel respected during the enrollment process, it makes me question whether that is the environment I want for my child. This review reflects only my experience with the Dublin location. I cannot speak about any other Mathnasium centers, and I'm sure other families may have had different experiences.

While picking up my child from middle school, I briefly stopped in the red zone because I was not feeling well and currently have a fever. Within seconds, the business owner, Mr. Siva, approached my vehicle aggressively, yelling and cursing loudly in front of my children and other students. He was not law enforcement or school staff, yet his behavior was intimidating, hostile, and completely inappropriate for someone running a business centered around children and education. My children were genuinely frightened by the interaction. Regardless of parking frustrations, there is never an excuse to speak to parents that way in front of children. What concerns me even more is that Mathnasium as a brand chooses to franchise locations to individuals who conduct themselves in this manner. It seriously makes me question the professionalism, judgment, and values of the company as a whole. Because of this experience, I will be taking my children to another math tutoring center moving forward.

Our 8-year-old was experiencing adjustment difficulties following the move and had some incidents involving aggression. After only two weeks, Susan and Art told us that our 5-year-old was "great," but referred to him as "the other one" while saying that our 8-year-old did not belong there. We found this comparison and the way the situation was communicated to be insensitive and unprofessional. We were also told that they were not equipped to support children who act out or do not fit their daycare's approach. Susan stated that they had not experienced this type of behavior from another child in 10 years. Rather than working with us on a transition plan or discussing possible supports, they made it clear that our son could not remain in the program. Our son had been academically successful in Fremont Unified, but he was struggling emotionally with a major move and needed patience, structure, and constructive communication. We understand that every program has limits regarding the behaviors it can safely manage. However, we were very disappointed by the dismissive way our child and family were treated and by the lack of compassion shown during a difficult transition. After only two weeks of enrollment, we now have to find new childcare for both children. Based on our experience, I would urge parents--especially those whose children may need additional behavioral or emotional support--to ask detailed questions about the program's capabilities and approach before enrolling. They conveyed to us that they had limited training, resources, and ability to support children who need additional help, and that their program is better suited only to children who fit within their narrow approach to childcare.

Tutoring in the Bay is usually very expensive (I've tutored for $100/hr in the bay) but the director here takes all that into consideration with great attention to detail to your children's educational needs. I tutored AP biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, and SAT and ACT at many places across the East Bay, including Pleasanton, Mountain View, and San Ramon. Keypoint in Dublin, by far, had the most capable director that understood both the needs of the tutors and that of the students. The director pays attention to the quality of materials presented to the students, but he is not overbearing. He prepares a lot of the materials himself for the students. Some places in Mountain View just had awful directors with transactional manners, and some places in Pleasanton just leave it all to the tutors with little to no followup from the directors. But the director of this institute cares-- a lot--and it shows. The tutors here always come prepared. Every tutor is interviewed personally by the director, after having to pass written examinations to verify their aptitude. I hear after Covid, many of the services have moved Online. There are pros and cons with that, but the kids are still getting that same quality of education at the comfort of their own homes, and frankly, I'd prefer that if I were the student. When I have children, I would want to send my kids to this place (that is, unless I'm teaching them myself.)
