I had waist long hair which she layered and curled. The extremely small salon had 3 chairs for hair, 2 chairs for nails, and a small back room for waxing. Then one day, Wifey told me that Ken was back and was now working at a different location. I quickly texted him and confirmed that he was back for good and I immediately booked an appointment. Ken and the current owner used to work at Hair Designers at Skyline Plaza and that's where I met him and I became his regular. I initially thought he was gay until I discovered he had kids. I just revealed this to him recently and he said it's OK and it was a common misconception. We had a good laugh...always do. Prior to Ken, I had two regular barbers/hair stylists that I used to frequent and one sadly passed away (may she rest in peace) and the other one moved out of state. Finding the perfect barber is quite an exhausting process so to finally connect with one and become in sync with one another is like a harmonious balance of nature. All I have to say is, "The usual" and not having to explain how I want my hair done is such an underrated, satisfying and relaxing feeling knowing I am in good hands. After realizing I hadn't had a trim for a year I really needed to do something about my dead/damaged hair. Fannie did such a great job washing & restoring my locks. She trimmed off enough where I felt like I lost 5lbs but not too much where I was beginning to look like a little Chinese girl in elementary school. She layered it nicely so that the split ends were taken care of as well then blew dry/straightened it out for me to show me how it would look if I were to actually try in the mornings. All I wanted was a shorter cut - I showed a picture of a long layered "bob" but I said I wanted the short version of the cut. I was told my hair is shorter than the picture - how can you have a cut that's longer? This hair cutter was short and impatient to the point of insulting. There were other insulting words this hair cutter said but I chose not to post the words. I said I didn't want the length on the picture. I just said I wanted the shorter version of it. This hair cutter person proceeded to cut my hair but continued to talk to the person cutting hair next chair up in their language. I don't think I'm coming back.
