This is probably our 3rd time here, since we don't live near by but we visit Pacifica every couple of months. So my husband went in for a haircut. Each time we go in they've always asked if we have an appt. We don't have an appointment because we know they aren't busy. We are very flexible. If they weren't available we would be ok with it and leave. We appreciate that they would take us in. What we didn't like today was that, we asked how much the haircut was so we don't assume what we had been charged previously, which is $25. Today they said $30! We were semi shocked especially the haircut provided did not come with a wash and blow dry. So I said we've always paid $25. Did you guys raise prices? They didn't answer me. There was no price list that we could identify in our view. If they did raise prices and noted it down for their customers to see we would respect that and pay. So the stylist asked my husband to sign in, so he did. And the gal was like "oh you've been here before. It's $25 then." What the heck!!! You're just saying random costs to your customers now? It just doesn't make sense. It's just a basic haircut. They should have flat rates for men's and women's haircuts. If it's long hair then they should have a different price. We were really upset that they are just making up costs for their customers. The haircut came out fine. It wasn't perfect and there were a few spots that were not cut, and was a bit uneven. Made an appointment online a week prior. When i got there a few mins early she had a kid in the chair and her mom. Told her my name and app time. The kids mom that was in the chair noticed told the hairdresser since she didn't make an app they would come back. The hair dresser told them to come back in 30 mins. Well she clearly prioritized the other customers. She rushed through my hair cut. It was terrible. Didn't section my hair at all, and cut it dry. Loanne always does a great job for me. She is very easy-going. I wanted a lob cut months ago but she testified against it because my hair was too short in front. Respectable. My hair grew out very nicely. When it got long enough I came back for that lob cut and I like it! Easy fix for my headaches. Then my dirty, mud-ridden feet needed mostly a clean. Loanne explained all my options and let me choose what was best for me. The pedicurist did a great job and it did not hurt like the last one I got elsewhere. Loanne is such a blessing in the world of hair care! I called in need of a hair makeover three days before my cousin's wedding that took place on a Saturday. Super last minute, I know. I got very lucky because Loanne happened to have spots for Thursday or Friday at 5:30p and I think her maternal senses just knew I needed major help. To be efficient, she politely asked me to send her pictures of what my hair looked like and what I wanted done. This helped her to prepare for me since she would only have 2 hours to do a 3-4 hour hair job. Flash forward to day of the appt. Loanne was just as lovely of a person as i expected. Very motherly and caring of your hair. She aims to help and support you to ensure you understand what she will need to do to help you reach your hair goals. She took her time doing an ombre color to deep conditioning to toner to trim and curl all in one night. She stayed over time to ensure I got what I wanted and needed that night. She has years of experience and I appreciate that she listens to requests. For me I usually prefer to have my haircut done within the hour. Without a wash I'm usually done in 30 mins. But if you want full color and styling it could take time and she will let you know the estimated time. She knows how to cut Asian hair. I have really thick hair and I like how she does layers but subtle layers that are not too crazy. I have not done highlights or coloring here yet.
