I came here to pick up the Book of HOV limited edition 4:44 album cover library card. The librarians were very welcoming and attended to me quickly as there was no line. We chatted about the possible effects of folks accessing/ collecting up to 13 cards instead of just one. My thought is that at least this is bringing more people into the library who may not have come in otherwise, and perhaps it will lead more foot traffic will lead to more interaction and use of library resources. There appear to be 2 levels visible from the front desk. All are welcome as public libraries in Brooklyn are considered cooling stations for NYC residents especially on hotter summer days. There are giveaways like heart-shaped stickers & pencils for the kiddos at checkin check-out.

They clearly knew how to navigate their systems, and constantly communicated with one another to ensure a seamless process. Another worker tells me this is the wrong place for this type of service. It's embarrassing I can't believe this office is actually still working. The workers talk to each other and are unprofessional. I waited about 7 hours in there. They only started helping us when it was after 6:00pm because they needed to close. This place is terrible overall. The workers have attitude (some of them) and the rest just don't help. There are like 6 windows for tickets but only 2 or three people working there.

I am an average breeder and I would much rather purchase books from independence store and from online. The store is a nice space aesthetically. There is also a coffee bar which is a good plus. I feel the service is only fair. Sometimes, I have had helpful and friendly staff and at other times, I have felt either invisible. It's not a warm cozy bookstore.
