This place is pretty big, and dependent on all the people who work there, so it's really hard to rate. To start off, this is my 3rd OB/GYN clinic in 7 years. Because I'm picky. So the fact that I'm not currently looking for another practice speaks volumes. The doctors (OB/GYN only, I can't speak to any other aspect of the practice) seem up to date on clinical skills and research. The doctors I've worked with seem to listen to me and give suggestions with rationale and then let me make my own choices, which is really important to me. The nursing staff seems aloof (ok, not all if them, but I hate OB nurses in general, so I am probably predisposed to suspecting the worst from the nurses). Most of the front desk staff is very nice and helpful. The person who handles OB benefits needs to work on her people skills, and probably most other areas of her life. (Seriously, get it together!) If you call the office, an actual person answers the phone and is able to help you (this is the ONLY OB practice in columbia I can say this about!!!) It's also very easy to get a hold of the doctor on call after hours. read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS INSTITUTION. THEY WILL SCAM YOU! This institution took advantage of me as a young patient. It ran expensive tests that I did not ask for, and tried to charge me for them. In case you think that it's possible it was a mandatory test, it wasn't. In case you think there was a chance of honest confusion, there wasn't because I NEVER got back ANY tests results. To top it all off, when I realized the "mistake" that had been made on their part, I called and reported the issue. A representative from Women's Wellness Center told me and my family that they would put my bill on hold while they talked amongst themselves about what to do, and that they would let me know when they had made a decision. IT WAS NEVER PUT ON HOLD. I took a hit on my credit report because they lied to me, sat back and did nothing and told me nothing. They are not worth the time. I have had better luck at the University Student Medical Center... can you believe that? read more

I've tried and tried to like them, as their front desk staff and phone staff are WONDERFUL, compassionate, and always get me through to talk to a nurse on the same day. And, Dr. Grant (the high-risk OB doctor) was careful and compassionate with me. BUT there is such high turnover at this practice that in 5 years, I've had 3 different OBs, 1 women's general wellness doctor, who has left and whom they've not replaced, and 3 different nurse practitioners. Now they don't let you see an MD unless you have a hormonal problem or a high risk pregnancy, so the "all-rounded" women's care that was at the heart of the clinic 3 years ago -- making it my go-to for *all* health care for myself -- has disappeared. The turnover is killing the personalized experience, and I really want to see MDs, since my mother-in-law recently passed after an extended battle with cervical cancer and she had to fight to get diagnosed (way too late!) herself in the first place. It's hard to feel like your health is followed or taken care of when there is a new doctor and a new nurse practically every time. read more

Went in to get meds renewed with my doctor here. She spent five minutes with me and sent me off for a bunch of blood tests and asked me to schedule an appointment two months later, which I did. Got a call today that they needed to reschedule the appointment, but cannot fit me in until mid-July. Too bad I have no health insurance post-June 30, due to being laid off at work. Told them the situation and they cannot possible fit me in at any time during the next four weeks. They did not seem to care. read more

I love Women's Wellness Center. I am treated with respect and my provider listens to what I have to say and talks to me about my health. I have not had any testing ordered that was not necessary. I have not been charged for anything that was not necessary. Personalized experience in my opinion is how I am treated when I have an appointment, not who is there when I arrive; any appointment I make is about my healthcare situation not who works at the clinic and I am treated very well, I receive respect, dignity and fantastic healthcare, which is what it is about. I have been to many chiropractors over the years and Dr. Angela is one of two that I would return to for treatment. She is hands-on, excellent at diagnosis, the treatment gave me immediate pain relief, and I left with follow-up instructions. We are fortunate to have such a great physician. read more

Not going there again. I went for a counselling session with Dr. Murray, and let me start off by saying that she is definitely not LGBTQ friendly. While she didn't outright say, "I think being gay is a choice and I disagree with it" it was pretty clear in her language that had I not been paying her to help me, she would have said otherwise. She hardly let me talk to fully explain my situation before she started giving me the same advice over and over for at least 20 minutes, interrupting me when I tried to explain myself. She also didn't know what LGBTQ meant, which, confidential information that indicates she should aside, I don't see how a psychologist, who knew she was going to see a lesbian patient, could get through the day without knowing that LGBTQ is the acronym to refer to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer community, and is not, in fact, some sort of organization. read more

I have been a patient at Women's Wellness Center for apx 5 years and in that time have seen the service get less and less personal. My most recent experience prompted me to leave for good. I had a routine appointment to check blood pressure. At the appointment, I mentioned I had, the day before, gotten a sliver in my foot that had not completely come out. The nurse practitioner offered to get the rest out for me and I took her up on the offer. When I received my bill, I had been charged $290 for the sliver removal service!! I was shocked - first that the simple service cost so much, and secondly that the nurse practitioner had not thought to at least give me warning as to the cost of such a simple procedure. I felt there must be some mistake, so I called the billing department to check. I was treated with disdaine, annoyance and flat out rudeness by the billing person when I expressed my astonishment and surprise at the cost. I was basically told that was the price and it was my problem to pay it. I think the breaking point for me was when the billing person snidely asked me what did I expect, "did the nurse practitioner offer to do it for free?!! I sent a letter to the managing personal - not in hopes of a reduced bill, but just to give feedback on the poor and offensive customer service I had received. I never received a response back. I can't say there is anything amiss in the treatments at Women's Wellness Center although in the last three years I have only ever seen a nurse practitioner as a doctor never seems to be available. However, I prefer to look elsewhere for my healthcare as I feel I deserve a more personal and respectful relationship with my healthcare provider. read more
