I was given a brief health history form to fill out, and I was able to specify what I'm hoping to get out of the massage, any injuries, etc. I enjoyed the opportunity to actually discuss with Julia, the therapist, which areas I'm hoping to improve....since I do have a right hamstring tendon injury and stiff neck. Not only did she help rehabilitate my leg, but she zapped stress in various trigger points (forearm, wrists, feet)....in places where I had long ignored. She also tipped me some advice on how to manage levels of tension especially in the feet as it does leave one prone to hamstring injuries. I really appreciated how she applied her experience and knowledge during our session. I do plan to come again. The amount of attention she puts into her client makes coming here worthwhile. Thanks to a lovely Yelp friend, I was introduced to this Salt spa in Lewiston. I am always up for…read moreanything that involves relaxation and wellness , and I found I achieved both on my 3 visits to this spa. Halotherapy involves the use of salt vapor to help treat respiratory issues primarily (allergies, asthma ,bronchitis etc) . At Samana, you are taken into a spacious room with a salt brick wall , it is darkened except for the colored lights-you can pick your color . The room has several reclining chairs so pick your spot and recline in preparation for a 45 minute session. The staff will explain the process and what to expect. You will literally relax for 45 minutes (it is easy to fall asleep and that is completely fine) while breathing in the salt vapor . On my last visit to the spa, I had a sore throat , I must tell you that after one session I already felt tremendous improvement ! One of the staff mentioned he was able to rid himself of a sinus infection after 3 visits-I believe it ! The spa is very clean and calming, the staff/owners are so welcoming and friendly. They also offer massage treatments and yoga classes . I attended an "I can't do yoga" , yoga class and it was wonderful ! Such a great concept for people who "can't do yoga" . This class while challenging somewhat, was overall very doable for a beginner . At the time of this review, your first visit is 1/2 price, so $20 for a 45 minute session. I look forward to my next visit as seasonal allergies are in my near future, and are not my jam.

On the day of the appointment I was told that they charge for the time of the massage therapist and not the time that you spend on the table. While I understand that taking my health history is part of the one hour. But Anton kept insisting that finding a parking setting up the table will all be part of the one hour. I have a seven month old baby, so this was a very frustrating because I had planned my whole day around this. Anton kept arguing that in all clinics the one hour includes setting up the table and essentially the time of the therapist and not the time on the table. THIS WAS ALL AFTER SHARA CONFIRMED WITH ME THE PREVIOUS DAY THAT I WOULD BE GETTING A FULL HOUR ON THE TABLE AND SHE WOULD COME EARLY TO SET UP. Shara also was extremely rude in her conversation with me AND COMPLETELY FLIPPED ON ME THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT. Never have I been to a massage where I didn't spend the booked time on the table. I ended up canceling my appointment. Found Anton very argumentative. Extremely horrible customer service. If only owners these days cared about their customers.

Be diligent before booking services. Most of their health care practitioners have not had their…read morevaccinations and the owner doesn't feel he needs to indicate this on his website. I had some practioners come in to help my elderly parents with some movement issues and only found out afterwards, no vaccines. It isn't mandatory to be vaccinated, as it's personal choice - but caution you to ask this question before hand and before the practitioner comes to the house. Don't assume just because they work in healthcare, work with seniors and are in and out of people's homes all week that they are vaccinated or will be vaccinated. They are adhering to each of their college's protocols (masks, handwashing) but that may not be enough assurance for you in terms of transmission. Personally I think this should be made note on the website prior to the booking, so clients and potential clients are aware before hand, but the owner, Anton says as the business owner and by law he doesn't have to indicate this. Just a caution. Accupuncture practitioner also left two needles in my parent's head by accident, they found them when they went to brush their hair. According to Anton, that's no big deal, as you can leave needles in for up to a week without harm. They were left by accident, my parent found them with their hand and hairbrush. Not super safe. The treatments themselves are starting to provide some relief. Just be very diligent and advocate for proper and safe treatment and care. In my phone call with Anton I didn't the impression that a customer's wellbeing ,health and safety is his first priority as a business owner in the healthcare services industry.
