While shopping around at Downtown Disney, my family and I found the Wonderground Gallery in the Downtown Disney District. It's a boutique styled gallery and shop. The gallery specializes in Disney themed artworks, prints, collectibles, housewares, accessories and more. You can browse through framed pieces, posters, mugs, and other merchandise that blends classic Disney magic with art. The gallery also features a drawing station where sketch artists create custom hand drawn art right before your eyes! When my family and I came in on a Friday evening after California Adventure, the Gallery was busy! We saw the large unique Collectible Magic Key! It was cool, but expensive. You could easily spend an hour here looking at all of the Disney art pieces. Over the years, the Wonderground Gallery has celebrated a variety of art styles and periodically hosted meet and greet and even signing events with featured artists! Recently the gallery was refurbished in 2024. Parts of the offerings were moved over to other Disney stores like the Disney Home store. If you're visiting Downtown Disney, I'd highly recommend checking out the Wonderground Gallery. Before taking pictures of the gallery, we did ask a cast member if it was okay, and we were informed it was good to take pictures inside the Art Gallery! My family and I enjoyed our time here. Discounts are accepted at the Wonderground Gallery which includes the Magic Key Holder Discounts, the Disney Vacation Club discounts, and the Disney Visa Cardmember perks. read more

This art store in Downtown Disney is great!! They have some really nice artwork! The staff is always very nice and friendly! I've bought quite a few items from here and it is very rare that I walk out without something! :) The only con I would say is that they don't do the same custom framing as Off the Page in DCA does. I wish they would because it would be nice to pick up my purchases without having to go into the park. read more

GETTING HERE: Wonderground is located in downtown Disney in Anaheim California. It is in fact, not closed. However, it has changed locations and is in a different (smaller) storefront now. Look across the way from its ^previous location and you'll see it. REVIEW: I cannot believe I have not yet put a review for Wonderground! I must stop here every single visit. Period. At its previous storefront I have gotten a Kingdom of Cute backpack. I have also gotten a Haunted Mansion Harvey's Seatbelt bag and many postcards and prints over the years. This week when I visited DTD I saw Wonderground had moved. It still has all the things from yore, just limited number of merch on the floor. This visit I couldn't pass up Dory and Nemo and it ^hurt to pass on the Emperor's New Groove piece too. Amazing piece of art. The cast members were friendly and personable. One CM went out of her way to hunt if they had any other (cheaper $) TENG merch. Sadly they did not. They are open! Check them out as soon as you can. Get your prints here! Just a really great store for art. The prints are amazing. There's something for everyone. If you like the Haunted Mansion now is your time. So much Haunted Mansion stuff. They also have unique stuff like Alice In Wonderland and Moana with that crazy chicken. Forgot the name. Just unique characters. Great place for if you want to decorate your home! read more

When i was in CA adventure I was very impressed with the art store that I saw in the animation building on Hollywood Blvd. LIttle did i realize i would find the same prints here! Having obtained a Winnie the Pooh print for my girlfriend in that store I was trying to see if I could find "Lady and the Tramp" since that is my all time favorite Disney movie cartoon. Let me say that Lady and the Tramp is nearly impossible to find in the whole Disneyland complex. Here are various art reproductions which come in various sizes suitable for framing. I noticed that they had a bin of decent sized post card art a big larger than what you would normally send. I had seen the large size print of Minnie as an artist but thought it was way too much to spend. Imagine my delight to find the postcard version here at only a fraction of the price! As I continued to peruse the postcards I came upon "baby Lady" from the opening Christmas scene of the movie. I scooped her up at once. When I was checking out the saleslady had no idea who this character was. Lady and the Tramp is an old movie but still a winner in my book. She was surprised when I told her and let me know they did have a larger print of this piece at one time but sold out of it. I was happy with my two finds, paid her, and left. Now they are very easy to display in my house and makes the perfect little gift if you have someone addicted to Disney. This is one of my favorite shops to visit when I come to Downtown Disney. The art is so cute. I have bought several pieces of art from here and they look great in my home. I also love seeing Disney products that I can't always find at, "World of Disney". This store is small and gets kinda crowded very quickly but it's definitely a store worth seeing. One of the shops inside California Adventure was out the the Jack and Sally light box. They suggested this store in Disney Downtown. We walked in a looked but the box behind the display was for a different light box. We got the attention of a sales associate. They were able to locate the product in a box for us. They opened it up to make sure the item was inside and not broken or scratched. I asked if we could make sure it worked since we live over 1600 miles away. They went to the back and got some batteries and turned it on. This was a Christmas gift from my Huband. They packaged it backup and letf the batteries inside. I didn't catch the name of the person that helped us. They were tall and had slightly curly long hair. This is just a guess on the pronoun They or Them. They did such a great job. We were there. Art gallery. When I saw those two words in the signage, I was intrigued. In downtown Disney... an art gallery?!? So off I go. All right. An art gallery ... not really. It's a shop filled with commercial prints of animation illustration, giclee prints of sketches, postcards, and the house ware with the artwork. Plus sure the shop sells the other obligatory Disney merch. However, the main focus is the art work by various Disney commissioned artists such as Joey Chou, Dave Perillo, Michael Murphy, and Jerrod Maruyama. I picked up a print by Joey Chou. He is a visual development artist in animation. Dave Perillo's prints were pretty cool as well. My favorite prints of his were the Endor Express and the Mandalorian. I'm a fan of art and I'm a fan of Disney, so this store is the perfect combination of the two and is one of the few stores at the resort that I'll head to at least once during every trip. Every time I'm here, there's something new and interesting to look at. Prices of the art vary depending on the Artist, subject matter, or whether it's a print, framed, canvas, etc. They'll often have an artist on location drawing something up. It's cool to watch them do their thing. It's located on the far end (away from the parks) in Downtown Disney. If you're a Disney fan and you love artwork, head to this store and bring your money with you. read more

This place use to be great, but now their service has gone down hill. Walked in today to try and buy a painting and only two people were working. One went into the back to try and find stuff for another customer and the other one helped me for a moment before being mobbed by 10 other people. A manager showed up and didn't help at all. So I left. They need more people, the art you can get in the parks for the most part. It's just not the same store it once was. read more

Wonderground Art Gallery is great for Disney art lovers who wish to take a piece of magic home. They sell unique and beautiful paintings, prints, figurines, postcards, Disney Parks exclusive Funko Pops, and more. They accept orders for certain prints and can frame them as well. Sometimes featured artists will be there for signing events and there's even an area for them to draw live. Prices are expensive even though annual passholder discounts are accepted. For example, a mini Haunted Mansion blind box plastic figurine retails for $19.99! This place is great! They have clothing and drawings of all the Disney characters/movies. And they will even custom draw pictures for you at a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and took us around the store to find exactly what we wanted and were looking for.We purchased two large pictures and I was trying to figure out how I was going to mail them to relatives in Texas. But, they offered to mail for me. Both pictures only cost $12.95 to ship! There's no way I could've mailed them for that cheap myself. read more

Went to their artist signing event featuring: Joey Chou Jerrod Marayuma You must purchase an artwork from the store before you stand in line to meet the artists. I think I waited 20-30 minutes before I met both Joey & Jerrod. Got my artwork & books signed and only paid $6 for parking in lot nearby. Pretty cool day! $10 is parking in Simba lot for 1st hour but I didn't have to use that option! read more

For me, another trip to Disneyland means a required trip to the Wonderground Art Gallery. I follow a lot of the local artists on Instagram​ and love any excuse to be able to stop by the gallery to see their work in person. Each time, which isn't too often but might be more often now that we moved to California, I stop by and purchase new postcards​ of my favorite artwork. As you can see I have a hard time choosing which postcard​ art I want, so I purchase all of my favorites and then my wall starts filling up really quick. The gallery itself is relatively small, but if you're looking for postcards​ most of them at right at the check out table by the registers. There are a few postcards throughout the store with the other canvas, clothing and mugs so don't forget to take a peek throughout the entire gallery before you truly miss out on a special piece. read more

I love visiting museums and galleries so I was surprised to find out that there's one in Downtown Disney District. It might have been for years but I'm not sure how did I missed it in the past. I'm glad I finally discovered it because I really liked this place. As soon as I came in, two friendly staff members are by the entrance greeting each customer. I immediately noticed how clean and organized this store is. Unlike other galleries which show different art concepts, everything is this gallery are all Disney themed. It's a small shop but lots to see. Lots framed artwork by local artists. Of course, they come at a hefty price which is particularly true with any art piece anywhere else. But if you can't afford the original art pieces, there are small prints that are available. I love that they also have a small studio in the corner of the store with a featured artist you can watch while working on his next masterpiece. I think that's pretty cool to watch live. read more

This place has so many Disney treasures in it with all price ranges! Every time we visit this store, there's always something new and exciting inside. We bought several postcards, which is a less expensive way to get the larger prints in your possession. I bought the pink Jerrod Maruyama pink cooler, which was worth every penny. Easily the best shop in Downtown Disney! Tons of unique art from artists that put their own spin on classic Disney art. There is a good mix of all the branches of Disney. Whether you like the theme parks or movies, love Tiki or princesses, there is art for you. The store sells expensive, fancy prints, as well as more budget-friendly postcard versions of the same pieces. Other merch for sale includes utilitarian pieces for you home like plates and pillows, or larger art pieces like sculptures as well. I loved this store, my daughter could spend hours and hours looking at the art alone, but this shop is so much more than Disney art that decorates the home, it is food art and clothing art as well. We found some really fun chocolate molds with Mickeys and other designs like the It's a Small World clock. They have many nice sketches by Disney artists and artisans. They even host events where you can meet different artists, we are a bit sad we were not able to attend one of those. I also like their variety of clothing, especially the very sweet Mary Poppins inspired flowing skirt and top and the Orange Bird spirit jersey. read more

Located in Downtown Disney, this art store/gallery consists of art portraying Disney characters and Disneyland done in non-traditional styles. The art changes periodically and, while it is all for sale and would look great on the walls of any Disneyphile's domicile, this is a fun place just to look around. On my visit there was art done by the artist Shag who creates in a hipster-retro 50s style. There was also art of characters in Asian styles and goth "big eye" style (sorry, I don't recall the artists' names). Some of the art has a darker edge to it and some maintain the fun & magical aura of Disney. The many artists represented give the Disney characters and Disneyland a unique interpretation. Traditionalists may not like it but I think even they would still find it interesting. read more

It's nice to see all the cool art and unique novelty items. We always enjoy wandering the store to find all the new apparel, mugs, journals, stationary, figurines, and other collectibles. Once in a while, you'll even find an artist drawing you're favorite Disney character at the artist's desk near the front the gallery. This store also showcases different artists here as well. I love this art gallery. I am a Disney fan and love art museums, so this is a great place I would naturally gravitate to. Yes, it is expensive, like most art that is worth anything. BUT the pieces in this gallery are amazing. There is something for everyone. I love the dark twists to common characters (even though they aren't for me, I love that the artists take their own spin on the characters). Every time I am here, I buy some postcards, but one of these days I am going to spring for some bigger pieces. Store is clean and easy to navigate. Wonderground Art Gallery was our favorite spot in Downtown Disney, a great place to see and buy Disney artworks created by young artists with their brilliant ideas. Even though they were mostly pricey, we still enjoy spending time (and money of course) in the gallery. The gallery is recently replaced by Star Wars Trading Post - a Star Wars themed shop which is not very different from the shops in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. I wonder if this is a sales project under COVID pandemic only as the main Disneyland remain closed. I really hope the real Wonderground Art Gallery will come back again. read more

It took us forever to go check out Wonderground - every time we went to Downtown Disney, we always passed it (as we didn't think it was that important to check it out, despite my brother telling us otherwise). After our first visit, we realized one thing - he was right. The Wonderground art gallery is different than more than a few art galleries that I've visited in that you can take pics of the displays, there's an artist that's in residence that was working on some pieces as people walked by, and that some of the pieces are available as affordable prints, postcards, buttons, magnets... in other words, you can actually find something affordable here! (And yes, they offer annual passholder discounts, except on the original pieces.) And the pieces... I'm impressed at the detail and originality that I've seen the artists utilize with the Disney characters; for example, hipster Mickey and Minnie, Mickey on Tron light cycle, and even Mickey on a Star Wars landspeeder. They even had some sweet pieces featuring the Rocketeer - now how cool is that? Definitely worth stopping by in Downtown Disney... especially as they'll occasionally have artists visiting for signings. Case in point, in a couple of weeks, comic book superstar J. Scott Campbell will be making an appearance, which I'll be attending! read more

Happened to wander in while Nan Hockin was in store for the showcase and signing, autographing her art. I bought a very reasonably priced print for $25, plus a few postcards. This art gallery is amazing if you're a Disney freak like my family is. Amazing work by multiple artists which can be extremely expensive. I tell ya, if I was rich, I'd be buying a ton of this stuff for my home. They do have some prints which are I believe $29.99 each which you can frame on your own, of course it won't be the original. These are still gorgeous though. They have other things there for purchase like figurines, magnets, mugs. I had to walk out with something or my heart would've broken. I left with a gorgeous mug of Princess Jasmin and her Tiger. Looking forward to another visit. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. LOVE! I honestly wish it was bigger to house some more stuff in. There's almost always a group of people in every corner of the store. I'm not that big of a Disney fan, but I do enjoy their art and the inspiration that people get from what Walt Disney created and his passions. Wonderground seems to bring that sort of inspiration, where new ideas and transformations are completely acceptable. I think it's awesome on how independent artists are put on the spotlight and have them showcase their artwork. Some of the stuff that I've seen is absolutely beautiful. Other things are a bit of a tear-jerker simply because you know the story and you know what happens, and you understand the time and effort the artist put in to create that art piece. There aren't just prints and statues; there are plenty of other things such as jewelry, stationary, parasols, pencils, magnets, etc. It's not crazily priced, either, so there's always something to get for someone. Returns are pretty simple, and as long as it's new, you'll get a refund. I really hope to see more art come in for this place. Would really like to see them get a website, too, so that people from outside of California can enjoy the art. read more

This is a great gallery since it takes the traditional Disney characters, and through authorized and licensed efforts, modern artists put their own spin and creative interpretations of the World of Disney and create unique and sometimes unconventional artwork that is less than traditional, but never boring and always imaginative. One of the major artists I'm a fan of, J. Scott Campbell who is best known as a comic book illustrator who has done work for Marvel Comics (Spider-Man, X-Men, you name 'em, he's drawn 'em) as well as Gen 13 and his own co-creation and my favorite "Danger Girl" - - has work featured in the Wonderground Art Gallery, including limited edition prints, merchandise such as shirts, mugs, magnets and other swag. So, without Jeff Scott Campbell's work, it's still great at * * * * (four stars) but when featuring his work, it maintains and retains that ultimate * * * * * (five star) status! I hope they continue to have him create more Disney masterpieces and do in-store appearances ('tho I've managed to miss each one he's done in the past unfortunately) This is definitely a store whether a casual Disney fan or a hardcore Disneyphile, for anyone and nearly everyone to enjoy. What I like about it is it's not run of the mill and ordinary, it's rather extraordinary. If you're tired of owning what everyone else has or have seen, this is a place that stands out in the crowd. I think those who navigate a little left of center or kids who are becoming tweens / young adults can appreciate this more than the standard Disney Store for merchandise. It's a bit on the alternative side, slightly edgy, quirky and stylized. There's lots of original art and prints, and it's a feast for the eyes, so it's a good place to look and everything is for sale, so one of the best options to shop at too. I went when artist Liana Hee was appearing, and she was really nice and friendly. Her artwork is both cute and beautiful. The Downtown Disney offers 2 (or maybe 3) hours of FREE PARKING and if you buy something from any of the merchants, and get validated it upgrades your free parking up to a total of 5 hours. read more
