Let me start by admitting I shop poorly especially for clothes, even at retail. However I do love a bargain especially when buying things I don't use often - like a hand mixer. Walked into Wonderland Thrift Shop, lots of random things in no particular grouping, carousels of small children's clothes and odds and ends. The ladies were busy but stopped to ask if I needed help. "Do you happen to have a hand mixer?" "Funny you should ask, something came in this morning", walking over to a box filled with random items and handing me a very nice stainless, Cuisinart one. She advised me to plug it in to make sure it worked and out I walked with a $5 mixer and a beautiful stoneware serving platter for a $1. Highly recommend this spot, you might get lucky too. read more

The prices are better than any other thrift shop around and you can definitely find some gems.

If you are looking for a unique steal, hop into this thrift shop. It's definitely hit or miss but the prices are the best in the area (that I have seen) Especially great for clothing! And kids books are fill a bag for $1 read more

A hidden gem if you're a thrifty person. Unfortunately, don't bother stopping by because their hours are a mystery. They will close for any reason. It's too hot? Closed. It's raining too much? Closed. They don't have staff? Closed (I understand not having staff but they need to get it together, because it just seems like they don't like being open) They also aren't opened on the weekends either. read more

I have been a customer and donator at wonderland for years. I love this place. Not only are they truly non-profit, but they hand out vouchers to people in need. This place was a life line for me when I was pregnant with my son. Unfortunately since they've moved buildings, their staff seems to be very short tempered and honestly a little condescending. Maybe I'm catching them on bad days? Regardless, wonderland does good things for people in need, and I think that is a great thing. read more

I loved my experience. I found some pretty good stuff for low prices. This is the pricing I love at thrift stores! They are very well organized and have helpful and friendly staff. The front of the store is kinda messy because of all the donations in the front. and the young man who was sorting thru the bags was such a nice kid. He certainly has a big job ahead of him. I especially liked their unique "vintage and funky" section. Everything is by gender and size and item type for clothing. The books are a great deal with fill-a-bag. Scabies! After talking to my doctor we figured out the only place I could have contracted these disgusting mites is this thrift store. I tried on several clothes before picking a few I liked. I have always enjoyed going to Wonderland Thrift Store, Stratham, until Today, Oct 10, 2019. I know the owner, a lovely English woman who has loved up my precious St. Bernard while neighbors. The Manager has, as well, been very pleasant and kind to me UNTIL TODAY! I am on Permanent SS Disability, cannot work and make recyclable art pieces from some of their small items. I found a small plastic lamp part and as Manager was on the floor - brought it to her for a price. The Manager stated, "Did you take this from a lamp" in an accusatory tone. I replied, "No, it was in the junkie bin right over there". Manager replied, "All items there are a $1.00". I politely replied, "There are no posts, signs, labels on items or on bin indicating so". Manager's reply" "My label is coming from my mouth, it's $1.00!" This Manager triggered my PTSD with 1.) accusatory accusations 2.) UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIORS AS A MANAGER! Will NEVER GO THERE, AGAIN and WILL SPREAD THE WORD! read more

Recently when I tried to drop off a children's book shelf in good condition the girl at the door looked at me disapprovingly and shook her head and said "nope not going to take that". Not going to play a guessing game about what they will and won't take. Off to goodwill which has convenient curbside drop off anyway. read more

I was at Wonderland yesterday with a friend who goes there all the time. She's been wanting to take me there for awhile and I finally went!I shopped around and bought a few interesting items. My friend, who's a shopiholic.. Was buying and trying on clothes. Anytime we were about to walk out after our purchase, she'd find something else to try on and buy. Lol!! So, I held onto her purchased bag of clothing as she looked around for even more clothes! After buying a black sweater.. I put it in her bag for her. Someone must've seen this and assumed I was shoplifting. The cashier handed me the store phone and said, "Someone wants to talk to you.".. So, I answered the phone.. And here's the dialogue as close as I remember: Me: Hello? Lady: Ma'am (British accent) Me: Yes? Lady: I want you to leave the store RIGHT NOW and never come back again!!!!!!I saw you shoving things in your bag. Leave before I call the police!! Me: ( shocked and dumbfounded to say the least) I didn't take anything!! All I did was put my friends purchased stuff in her bag I was holding!!" Lady: There were more than one item you shoved in the bag!! Get out NOW and Never come back!!! I'm calling the police right now!! Me: Please do!! Then my friend ( extremely mortified for me) told the cashier that I didn't steal anything. I let her check all bags, even my purse.. And she found nothing stolen. Then I asked to see the lady who was on the phone with me.. Only to find out she wasn't even there!! Whoever the person was who thought they saw me stealing and then spreading the lie... Shame on you!! There were absolutely no apologies. I still haven't gotten over the shock of being wrongly accused! I will never go back. I'm not allowed to anymore anyway. read more

Can't stand this place. When they were in their old location the staff always seemed annoyed when you wanted to drop off a donation. When they moved to their new location I thought having more space would allow them to operate more efficiently and ultimately with a better attitude. Not the case. Cannot believe a business that depends on quality donations to exist can afford to be so rude. I'm sure you can find great things here, but I'm taking all of my good things to donate elsewhere. read more

My friend tried applying for the past year and a half. She has great experience in retail and thought she would atleast get someone to talk to her. But unfortunately no. She kept emailing them but no response. Calling them didn't work because the manager wasn't there. Confusing her yes. Rude yes. Not sure who is running this business but it seems to be in constant disarray. They used to have 2 great employees that cared about the business and the customers. They greeted their regular customers by name and the customers knew their names as well. But because of poor management these 2 key employees no longer work at Wonderland. Jo and Julie were the back bone of Wonderland and it's a real shame they are gone. I will never shop at this business ever again. Very disappointed. read more

I went to Wonderland Thrift Shop for the first time yesterday and I was very impressed. I found a lot of books that were wonderful and they were having a sale - $1 a bag!!! Even found a couple of awesome finds in the free box. I didn't really check out the clothing or housewares section. I did notice a large selection of CD's, DVD's and video games. read more

Have found plenty of great things at Wonderland. I've gotten clothing, christmas ornaments and a couple of house things. My favorite part about this store is their prices. I have had some negative experiences with the staff being somewhat rude when it being close to closing time. Turning off lights, rushing people out, and telling people (a dad and his two kids who were psyched about getting a specific pair of roller blades they had) who walk through the door 10 minutes before they close that they have to leave because they are closing and they wouldn't have time to shop. So when it says they close at 5pm it means the staff want everyone out, lights off, and the place shut down right at 5pm. Do yourself a favor and give yourself plenty of time to be out by at least an hour before their posted closing time. Like I said though, great deals and some good finds. :) read more

They do not recycle at all, a lot of donations go right in the dumpster which is emptied numerous times weekly. Try Finders Keepers in Exeter as they are a lot nicer and totally recycle. read more

It's a solid thrift store. You can easily find good deals, and you can pretty easily find some high-quality stuff. That's all I expect from a thrift store, particularly a nonprofit one. I don't care much about how clean it is; I know I'm going to have to clean whatever I take home. Neither do I care too much about how friendly the staff is--though I should say that the woman who helped me check out was perfectly pleasant. Finally, I LIKE the fact that the front of the store has a lot of donated goods strewn around, and that some bins of donated goods were distributed on the floor near the clothing I was scoping out. These are signs of a GOOD thrift store because it means the inventory is being refreshed constantly. Hopefully this place stays in business but continues to fly under the radar, because people like me will be benefiting from the deals. read more

After cleaning out an elder's home, I donated some really quality things...probably $500 worth. The staff was incredibly rude to me and acted like they were very inconvienced that I was there. I have more things to donate but I will go elsewhere. read more
