I love, love, love wonderplay and coffee! My friend suggested we come with our kids and my little one loves it so much! They always have a lot of events thought out the week. Today, we went to a music class! It's a great place to have parties because all ages can find something to do here! There's so much variety in the different play areas (there's even a crawling area!). It always smells and feels clean when we go, which is something that I neeeed when I go to kid play areas! Extra bonus is: they have coffee! I always try a new one when I go but they're always so good! This time, I tried the coconut ube latte which was so good! My drink didn't look like my friends (hers had a brown layer in it) but it was still delicious. They have a small parking lot that holds maybe six or seven cars but there is a bunch of free parking all around (watch out for areas that need permit though!). read more

I found this place on yelp when looking for a cool place for my 1, 3 and 5 year old. The photos offered various spaces for each age so we made our 30 minute trek here. Unfortunately, parking is super sparse. They have about 6-8 spaces in their lot but none were available. They had a map of where parking was available (a lot of neighboring streets) so that was super helpful. Upon arriving, the barista was super friendly. The staff who checked us in were nice enough and $57 later, the kids were off. My 1 year old loved the small wooden structures in the baby area. There were plenty of toys and things to interest her and she got her exercise crawling around and walking assisted. My 3 and 5 year old favored the jungle gym, campers room, and lego room. They loved the numerous plush animals and faux fire pits. They built small fort rooms under the larger wooden play structures and kept themselves busy. Far as the cafe, I ordered a vanilla latte but it was too strong for my preference. The barista added more ice and milk for me, but it was still too much. I also ordered a large ube latte for someone and they loved it. We had packed bento boxes and it was nice being able to bring our own food (though signs say no outside business foods). Only downside was that certain areas were better air conditioned than others. The smaller children's area near the loose toys was steamy and I could see condensation on the signs on the window. Was sweating playing with my 1 year old there, but otherwise, other areas like the campers room were nicely ventilated. In total, we stayed about 3 hours and my kids still wanted to stay. We have been here a few times (with 2 and 5 year old) and love it! There are so many exciting things for little ones to do and explore. The coffee drinks are so tasty as well, especially the ube latte. If going with more than one child by yourself, it can be hard to keep track of them in different spaces, but so fun for play dates and rainy days. There are only a few spots in the parking lot and most parking around there is permit, so allow extra time to find a space. I also love that passes are good for the whole day, so you can leave for nap time and come back! read more

The facilities are there for a great time for the kids; however, we've only made it inside once despite trying on multiple attempts. Barriers to actually getting into business: poor parking, it's too busy that you are held in the vestibule area with no way to reserve ahead of time or make appointments (told hour plus wait), and surprise birthday parties/events renting out the location. When you are there, it is very busy/congested with socializing adults versus kids playing. Toys/equipment are definitely already well-used/ worn out and could use a refresh. Still a great place for a rainy morning or afternoon, but you can't count on actually making it inside (even if you manage to find a parking place). read more

We had a great experience at wonderplay today. We met up with a couple friends after having lunch nearby. I was very surprised that it was too busy/crazy for a Saturday afternoon! There is a parking lot!! It's not big but HUGE WIN... We got two parking spots in the lot and didn't have to search for street parking. PTL! The play place is so big and very clean. There is a variety of spots for the kids; a big climbing area, a camp area, a small play cafe/market and of course a soft Play and library for littles under 4. I especially love that there is a cafe with coffees, drinks, juice and snacks for people to enjoy in their many seating areas. It perfect! The staff is super nice! Awesome play place for toddlers and kiddos alike! My 5 & 2 year old had a blast exploring this place today. We went at 2:30pm on a Saturday and it was already pretty busy when we arrived, but filled in even more while we were there (~2.5hrs). The parking lot was full, but we luckily found some free street parking. It's a bit pricey to get in, but you do get an "all day pass" so that you can come & go as needed. Price includes 2 adults. Siblings are a discounted rate. We signed waivers for both kiddos to enter. Staff was very friendly & knowledgable. Lots of toys for imaginative play - my kids spent a lot of time in the "camping room". The big climbing structure is for ages 5+ (or 4 with an adult). Great way for my 5 year old to get some energy out! They have a cafe as well. I didn't try anything today, but hope to in the future - they had some tasty sounding specials! read more

I've seen many large-scaled kids indoor playgrounds on Blippi's videos as my younger one is quite obsessed with his YouTube channel. Finally, there is one located in the northwest side of Chicago and it is one-bus ride away from my neighborhood. I found out about the existence of "WonderPlay & Coffee" through a WGN segment and immediately got interested in taking my kids to check this place out. My 2-year-old son came with me since my 4-year-old was feeling under the weather. Stroller parking was marked clearly so we left it at the designated area. Check-in was straight forward, consisting of signing the waiver and paying the day pass fee ($20 per child). There would be a sibling discount, $16 per sibling, if I were to bring my older one as well. That pass also allowed an in/out privilege for the day during the cafe operation hours, and I thought that was a generous thing to do. Socks were required to enter the play area. My son was hesitant to enter at first due to his shyness, but soon he was just everywhere and going from one thing to another! I was glad he had fun with the giant jungle gym and also played with an older boy of his brother's age. We were there for about 3 hours until he got slightly tired and it was also his usual nap time. The cafe food and beverage offerings were also great. I noticed there were many ube-centric items and I happened to like ube. With that said, the ube crossaint was delicious, and so was the guava lemonade! The barista who served us was super friendly and brought the food and drink to our table. "WonderPlay & Coffee" left me with a positive impression and I will be bringing my older son for some fun, of course, after his recovery, next time. I know they sell monthly/annual membership, and I am considering purchasing it if we see ourselves come often enough. Some parking is available for patrons yet spaces are limited. Nevertheless, CTA 77 bus (Belmont) has a stop directly in front of the venue and Belmont Blue line station is a couple of blocks east. read more

My kids had SO much fun here. Tons to do for all ages. Even my husband got into the jungle gym for a bit. Love that adults are free but also siblings pass is discounted. They offer so many events and classes here. There's no shortage of things to do here! It's also HUGE and the best part - they serve coffee & drinks! They truly cater to everyone (parents included with the caffeinated drinks). The price is reasonable considering it's for all day play. Wonderplay is a fun place overall, but it can get a bit overstimulating. Between the bright colors, loud music, and constant activity, it's not exactly the spot to relax. That said, the Ube Latte was actually pretty good--surprisingly smooth and flavorful. If you don't mind a high-energy environment, it's worth a visit, but it's not for everyone. read more

Wonderplay and Coffee is a fairly new indoor kids play and climb facility with a coffee shop attachment. We spent a cold Chicago morning at Wonderplay after hearing positive feedback and stories through social media. To avoid cabin fever (for our toddlers and ourselves as parents), we loaded ourselves in the car and bit the $22-play-fee bullet (two free adults included). Play areas are shoe-free and socks-only. There are little cubbies for adults and kids alike to store shoes, jackets, and bags. It was pretty chaotic at the entrance when we arrived but we still managed to find an open cubby. We arrived to a PACKED facility but manage to find our way to a corner with our coffees (I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee; it's VietFive so I pretty much had to!) where we can tag team playing/supervising our toddler. There's a nice area for little ones under 4 to read of quietly place; surrounded by couches where caretakers can relax. Our toddler most enjoyed the adjacent market/kitchen are which included several wooden climbing structures and slides. Next, we went up into the climbing area which requires supervision for the littlest ones. Our brave little toddler had fun going through the whole structure twice before tapping out ("all done") despite the older kids 3+ as well as adults darting around / past us every so often. Last area we played in was the camping area. Our toddler loved the different play houses available and how it was less crowded than the kitchen area by the time we ventured over. There was a large climbing dome in the middle but it was still too advanced for us to really partake. I'm glad there were sanitizing stations throughout the facility. I wish that bathrooms weren't socks only since I did see liquid on the floor as well as a dirty shoe mark. And my only easy peasy suggestion would be adding adult height ledges so that we can place our coffees safely out of reach from the kids. We had a lovely time and plan to be back again! read more

We don't live close to the area but commuting from the loop to Avondale was pretty easy..this place is close to the Belmont blue line stop. The place is pretty organized and clean and you don't have to do a reservation and the entry fee is around $22. Not bad considering you can stay there the whole time till they close or you can come in and out. They also offer art classes but we weren't able to participate this weekend since they had a private event. The cafe offers good pastries from Umaga bake house and this place is Filipino owned so plus to support local businesses and the Asian community. This is a great place for active toddlers and mammas that can use caffeine fuel while playing. read more

The facility was larger than I anticipated. There were several families present as we went on a Sunday, but it did not feel crowded. We were able to find street parking nearby. There were so many safe structures for kids to climb on! I appreciated the attention to detail; there was even soft padding on door hinges in the campground room. The whole family had a blast in the large climbing structure with multi-levels of slides, balance structures, mirrors and more. Areas like the play cafe and car rug/Little People toys were perfect for toddler and PreK ages! Staff were actively cleaning while we were present, returning some of the toys to their containers and vacuuming rugs for guests. I appreciated that. My tea came out quickly and I felt I had some decent choices not being a coffee drinker. There were also plenty of coffee tables around when you needed to set your drink down to tend to your kid, or just relax on a comfy couch and have a chat with a friend while watching the kids play. The only part I did not love that someone else mentioned in a review was the sign for no shoes in the bathroom. That's asking for a wet sock...Still, I would come back for another visit for all the other wins! I do wish the annual membership was more affordable. read more

We're visiting from out of town and had spent the morning at the Shedd Aquarium. The kids were so overwhelmed and we had to bail (no shade to the aquarium! I wanted to see more, but it was too much for my group). We were wondering what to do until our dinner reservation since we didn't just want to rot in the hotel room and the playroom saved the day! It was bright, clean, and full of toys and activities for all kid ages. Both our baby and grade schooler found plenty to do and we spent a few stress-free hours there until they closed.
