Great place for kids! Colorful climbing walls, challenging rope courses with zipline, arcade, laser tag. Great for kids parties or to burn some energy and challenge yourself. Snacks and adult beverages available. Large seating area, large party rooms. Clean bathrooms. Parking lot free onsite.

Place did the trick for yet another day where we were advised not to go outside. Found a Groupon so I saved $10. I agree with previous reviewers who mention that the climbing becomes redundant swiftly. The soft play area is organized chaos but does the trick. There needs to be more sitting options near the climbs. I doubt I'd do a whole part here but as previously mentioned place sufficed for its purpose of tiring out my child. The workers were nice & carried out smiles throughout my visit. Sometimes the harnesses can be difficult to attach. Speaking of harnesses it took about 15 minutes to attach & it another 15 minutes just to get in this place so have some patience.

This was a very fun visit for our 7-year old. We purchased a pass for our child and 2 over-the-hill passes for the adults ($100). We enjoyed the bumper cars, we loved the laser tag, and the high ropes course. My wife and I enjoyed climbing the walls. We have almost zero background in climbing these types of walls- personally I failed a couple of times and successfully reached the top of the wall about 5 times. Perfect for my ability level. The video games were cool. Saw one kid get one of the large balls with one of the many claw games- its possible guys!

    Big place.

Came here for my friends daughters birthday celebration. Did not know this existed. I brought my niece and she had a blast. A lot of climbing walls to choose from, staff everywhere to help/assist, hand sanitizer all around, sections for private birthday parties, bumper cars, laser tag. Definitely recommend this place for a fun time with your kids. The staff will assist with showing how clip on the the walls.

I'm here right now and I have to give a review. Unfortunately, not good. The visit is not worth the price. For $42, you get unlimited climbing which sounds good but my kids, 7 and 9, were bored after ~3 climbs. The zip line and ropes course was a bust because it's too much for kids their age that are still getting comfortable with heights. After that, we were left with 2 laser tag games and 3 bumper cars and the arcade. The 20 arcade credits are great until you realize that your child spent all of their credits on 5 Whack A Mole games that were 4 credits each (wow). He was there 3 min and nearly cried when he realized all of his credits were gone. 20 credits is $10, so that was a $2 game. It was a slow day, so there were no other kids in the laser tag or bumper cars, so that was a bust. 1.5 hours and they were ready to go. Also, about the staff: everything written here is true. A bunch of young kids sitting doing nothing but talking to each other. Right now, two of them are sitting across from each other at the ropes course tossing a ball back and forth at each other. I went to the concession to ask whether the "Christmas IPA" was considered "Domestic" or "craft" which is a $2 price difference. The girl at the register initially ignored me, then lifted her head while looking over and past me as though there was a customer she was trying to rush to get to behind me (no eye contact), here was the exchange: Her: how can I help you Me: is the Christmas IPA considered "craft" Her: I don't know anything about beer Me: well there is a difference in price between the two types of beers. Can you tell me the price of the Christmas IPA Her with a huffy attitude and smacking lips: I don't know, I think like $7 or something. Me: okay thanks Anyway, my 7yo is next to me with his chin on his wrists ready to go... The pros: the place is clean and the front desk and the staff at the climbing wall are nice and helpful. But, when you walk past there. Not worth it. Maybe when it's a zoo and there are other kids to distract and entertain my kids, that might be an attraction worth paying for.

We just visited this place yesterday for the first time and I have to say we were not disappointed!! Kids had a blast from my 1 year old to my 11 year old! It was clean, organized, and just pure fun! From the arcades to the ropes to the bumper cars and laser tag. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family! Only advice I would give is to add lights to the soft play area it's way too dark in there especially for toddlers I was not comfortable letting my toddler in there alone. Also the ball pit is a no no. Kind of smelled in there and with Covid probably not the easiest place to sanitize. Other then that it was great. Food was also good. We had the pizza, chicken tenders with fries and the brownie icecream for dessert!

Perfect addition to the area, and a great activity for yet another frigid winter day. This place is spacious, clean, well run and reasonably priced. The climbing walls are a good difficulty level for kids ages 6+, the ropes course looks fun, bumper cars fun and accessible for kids 36" and up, and the arcade is good bang for the buck. Laser tag seemed good as well - probably a little understaffed but they seem like they're just getting into their groove. Soft play area fun for littler kids ages maybe toddler through 7-8. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Come soon before it's completely overrun!

My favorite things about this gym: - Creative setting in the shorter walled section so you feel more comfortable trying new moves without the fear of falling too far - The layout with open sweeping views and plenty of light - The arch - tons of cool practice with overhangs and traverses - Bike parking inside! - Big area with mats upstairs to do warm-up and warm-down stretches Areas this gym could improve: - Cleaner holds! Not just Uptown - all of the locations. They're so greasy that it automatically adds a grade to any problem, and not in a fun way. - For lower-rated climbs, setting routes that aren't just jug ladders. It is possible to make beginner climbs fun and challenging in a puzzly way, but Uptown doesn't do that. It's all jugs. - More community events, and the community events that exist should be free to members. If I'm a member I shouldn't also be paying to go to sound baths or take fitness classes and participate in citizens' competitions. I've never been a member of a gym that charges its members for ANY events. There are free events at FA, but they're essentially just meetups. Anything with more to offer carries a charge.

All of my reviews are based on my personal experiences. I'm just not imaginative enough to create fibs. I chose not to be descriptive of your colleague b/c I don't want to shame him. I will keep it at that. You know best as to who has access to the gym. I didn't see in the fine print a reservation was needed, also I bought the Groupon back in January of this year, so that fine print could've been revised after my purchase. In any case, what about the 5 people that were there on the same day waiting to get in? Did they also not make a reservation? If that's the case, maybe it wasn't obvious to any of us? Or, they made a reservation and you made all of us wait. As mentioned in my review, I emailed you. Since you flat out called me a liar, I traced back to the email I sent on the day of which was Tuesday, 5/16/2017 at 5:58pm. Hey, turns out the person I was communicating with was you! It would be hard to get bored of the climbs there, because there is almost always a route you've not tried yet. This place has more realistic features and cracks that other gyms don't have. The route grades seem a little inconsistent at times, and compared to the other climbing gyms in the Chicagoland area. For example, most routes feel much, much harder than that grade anywhere else. And many of the mid-to-harder grades seem better suited for taller people, as the shorter among us have to dead point or dyno to many of the holds. You'll definitely get braver and stronger climbing at Vertical Endeavors. Room for improvement: The loose black rubber flooring is always a complaint because like a trip to the beach where you find sand everywhere, pieces of this flooring comes home with you. It also leaves black stuff on your hands and feet, so I recommend that you wear socks/closed toed shoes between climbs, because it's not that easy to scrub out.

Most people at the party had no experience climbing. There were some people there not climbing, including young children. After a quick tutorial, everyone went to start climbing. It seemed too quick even. I did not realize there was no staff in the general area they were climbing to help get the area ready (if needed) or clip them in. It seems this would be smart to do and it definitely is needed. My youngest was heading to the climbing area from the party room and a 9 year old was trying to get his climbing area ready by releasing some clips. No staff or adults with the party were helping. We were walking by and since the child was not strong enough to get the other clip off, the clip on the floor flew up and randomly hit me in the face as I was walking by. It all happened so fast, and I thought I lost by eye. The 5" metal clip hit right below my eye. So glad I changed into my contacts before we went because I can't imagine what else would have happened if my glasses were on. I needed to go to urgent eye and the ophthalmologist. Thankfully, the 5" metal clip hit right below by eye and it seemed I would be okay after I healed. It took 5 weeks. While I am okay now, I'm hoping I have no issues come up due to this preventable injury. They make you sign a wavier for anyone there, but it seems to be negligence on the business. Why are children and other inexperienced climbers releasing clips and clipping themselves in?! Maybe this place is good for experienced climbers, but if you are thinking to have a kid party here and most have no experience, I would look elsewhere. They need staff assisting with getting areas ready to climb and clipping climbers in. Bad enough I got hurt and thankfully the 5" metal clip hit right below my eye, but next time it might be a more serious incident.
