My friends and I went to Wong's Photos in search of professional headshots for job applications. We had been recommended Mr. Wong by a friend who had a great experience getting passport photos there. I didn't know if Mr. Wong would do headshots, so I called ahead and he answered right away. When we got there, there was no line and we were able to get our photos done ~5 minutes each person. For us, he took 3-4 photos per person and allowed us to view the raw digital and select one for him to edit. Mr. Wong will edit the photos right in front of you! He will allow you to put in your input while editing. I was blown away by the quality of my headshot photos with Mr. Wong. He charged us $30 for headshots which I feel like is beyond a steal considering other places charge at least $100+. I'm so happy with my headshot that part of me wants to gatekeep this place and not tell anybody, but I do want to support Mr. Wong as well. First time coming here after reading all the great reviews about Wong's photos! I came during my lunch break to get my passport photos taken. I walked in and out under 10mins! Mr. Wong was also very friendly and I told him to make sure my double chin doesn't show and if he could touch up my dark bags!! He did a wonderful job and even gave a little bit of color to my face!! I'll definitely be coming back here if I need to get my photos taken for any documents!! Highly recommend if you're looking for passport photos! Stopped by for a passport photo. This shop is convenient if you work in the downtown area and if not, it's super fast so you can hop out if someone waits for you nearby. I walked in on a weekday and had my photo taken super fast. I appreciated that he showed me the photo options and retook it when I didn't like the first photos. I believe it was $15 which is cheaper than going to CVS and you know the photo quality is much better because they use a real DSLR camera and professional set up. The owner took several photos and let me choose the one I liked best. In all, the process was super painless and I was able to get my photo quickly and at a reasonable price. Fast forward to now and it's my husband's turn to renew his passport. I remembered the great service I got at Wong's Photos and recommended he go there. Even years later, the service is still really fast and the photo turned out great. Several months ago, got my passport pic (to renew) done at Longs Kaimuki (CVS) but was so unhappy w/ it bc I looked yellow skin tone and looked like a really bad selfie. They don't have good lighting and any one of their staff can take your pic. Bad! So bad I didn't renew for almost 9 months!!!! Wanted to renew it already, I found Wong's in downtown via Yelp reviews and went there yesterday. Sooooo happy w/ my photo! He will take extra pics and let u choose. Also has mirror near front door so you can check your hair and face before getting pic done. And he has real white light and set up so your skin tone looks like it should and you look your best. This little shop is in downtown across from Daiso and who hasn't passed this shop looking at the many samples of pics they're able to restore to the amazing glory it originally whether it was recently took or decades old to think that memories once captured can be enjoyed again thanks to modern technology and the skills Wong's Photo has. I came for what many have needed is a passport photo and. I was sent here at the suggestion from Skyway Express and between the business connection they have which is very frequent all you need to say is for what country you're applying for as each one varies and the rest is taken care of. The owner is so friendly and helpful and he took several shots and even asked if I was okay with it even suggested to adjust my shirt and is done very fast, even knew a digital copy was needed (never mentioned it) which he did so immediately and I was set and on my way. Many of us usually goes to CVS which I won't do after this experience as a photo should be done at a place that knows what they're doing and saved me the time to get it done and done right...picture perfect! We always had trouble with renewing our Canadian passports. Places like Costco, Walmart, etc ....don't know how to handle that. There used to be a place in Ranch 99, but it's now gone. Fast forward to my in-laws moving here, and needing to renew their passports. We found Wong's randomly, and figured we'd give it a shot. Service was awesome (friendly, and we were in and out super quick), quality was amazing (we had zero problems with the renewal), highly recommend for any and all government ID photos. 10/10 read more

I've come here recently for passport photos for me and my sons. Service was really quick and the photos turned out great. i've been told that you can use an app to take passport photos now. But why risk it? You can get great professional photos here for less than what it cost at Walgreens and similar places, and you can support a small, longstanding local business while you're at it! Renewing passports every ten years is nice, so you don't need to scramble for passport size photos too often. Short story: I sent in my passport renewal at the end of November 2019, and received my new passport in January 2020...... Yeah, exactly. I also now know that it doesn't adjust your expiration month to your previous one like your driver's license or ID. I lost another month on top of 3+ years! During the pandemic, there were many changes. My go-to place to get passport photos and visas retired. Costco and Sam's Club stopped photo services. Walmart or Longs? Expensive and NO ONE is ever at the photo counter. Luckily, we were recommended Wong's Photos located just in between Downtown and Chinatown at the corner of Hotel and Bethel St. Only street parking, but it's open Saturdays to take advantage of free parking along King St., and other spots. Wong's Photos is a one man show. His name is Andy too! He's very professional, friendly, and efficient. He not only does passport (US and international) photos, but also offers an array of services such as photo restoration, DVD and VHS copying, and etc. I'm curious if there are people who still request copying DVDs to VHS or BETAMAX? His rates are per hour though. I remember I used to have those copying programs on my computer. Now computers don't even include disc drives! Overall, Wong's Photos is probably my go-to place now. Andy has all the tools and equipment to take excellent photos, and his photos came out very well. He's very knowledgeable and knows what is and what is not acceptable. His prices are reasonable. From the time I parked on Bethel Street about one block away, took photos an got back to my car, it took all of 13 minutes. Wong's is located at the corner of Hotel and Bethel streets. I found him on Yelp and, drawn by the great reviews, visited him to get my passport photo taken. Before the shoot, I briefly shared what kind of photo I wanted--specifically, that I'd like the deep nasolabial lines to be naturally softened. He quickly finished the shoot and immediately started editing the photos on the spot. As if he already knew exactly what I was hoping for, he made subtle yet perfect adjustments--not only to the nasolabial lines, but also to the dark circles under my eyes and even the uneven sun tan extending down to my neck. Everything looked incredibly natural! I walked away with a truly amazing photo. Total time from entering to leaving the studio? Just 20 minutes. Most of all, I really love his humble, sincere personality. Took my 5 year old for a quick passport photo and was so surprised to discover the friendliest photographer just inside an unassuming entrance off Hotel Street. I was a little apprehensive given the location but the shop is so clean, well organized and extremely efficient. I presume it was the owner taking photos and he was so kind and patient with my daughter--smiling, speaking kindly, and making sure I was ok with the photo before printing. Mr. Wong was a great photographer, he poses you and takes high quality photos that are way better than what you would get at Walmart or at passport agency. I remembered a friend of mine who went to Wong's Photos around 2009 for her passport photo and recommended we check them out. I walked in shortly after opening to request a US Passport photo. The studio is small and bright, and the gentleman (probably the owner) who helped me was very friendly. He set up quickly and took a few shots to get the right photo, letting me check after every shot! printing was super fast and I feel like I was in and out of there in under 10 mins easy, though I was the only customer in at the time so I'm not sure how this would go if it were busy but I trust he's fast either way.
