If you have not stopped by Woo Hoo you are missing out! The Location - You pull up and question your decision. The building looks simple. It looks like a small mom and pop spot in an older space. Then you walk in and see they are building something strong. The Service was quick, staff was Friendly Helpful and attentive. No issues. Now for the Food. I was impressed. Good Mediterranean food in Louisville is rare. My wife and I stopped in for lunch and the food delivered. She ordered a chicken gyro. Her fries came out fresh and seasoned. Her sandwich was the best gyro we have had in Louisville. I ordered the Sparta bowl lunch portion. Fresh, flavorful, and balanced. Nothing negative to say. Overall. If you have not been here you should make time to visit. Nobody is perfect so here is my minor nitpick. I ordered a Sparta bowl and did not get a fork. I walked back up and grabbed one. If that is the worst problem they have, they are doing something right. I look forward to going back. read more

On a long drive to Chicago from Alabama, we wound up here for dinner when Nashville traffic delayed us from getting to Louisville by dinner time. I'm not mad about it though! This restaurant is in a slightly more residential area and we were a little surprised when Google maps led us here. The parking lot is roomy enough and they have a patio area for outdoor seating. My one complaint is it was pretty cold inside the restaurant, and that's coming from a person who runs very warm. Nbd though! We were greeted warmly upon entering and prompted as to whether we had any questions. After looking over the menu, my husband got the gyro burger and fries while I ordered the chicken shawarma and fries. The prices were pretty reasonable for two meals. I ran to the bathroom while we waited for our food and it was nice and tidy. Our food came out in a few minutes (which was great since we were in a hurry and wanted something fast but not fast food) and it was piping hot and clearly freshly prepared, including the fries. Service continued to be lovely, making sure we had all the sauces we needed, checking in on us (unexpected but very nice at an order-at-the-counter joint), and bidding us farewell and a nice night when we got up to leave. Our food was good! Hubs' gyro burger was juicy and succulent and piled high with tender and savory gyro meat and nicely melted cheese. My chicken shawarma wrap had an impressive and enjoyable blend of flavors: slightly smoky chicken, zesty and bright peppers (new to me on a gyro-type wrap - an enjoyable addition), and just enough spice to stimulate the senses. The pita was so buttery and soft, too. The fries, as mentioned, were very hot and fresh and quite well seasoned. Personally, crinkle fries are among my least favorite cuts of fries, but these were done well. I do wish the portion of fries had been slightly larger, but on the bright side, it kept my dinner more manageable which helped me stay awake on the drive! The gyro was quite good but the chicken gyro not so much. The lamb kebab was seasoned well but on the drier side. Not sure why the greek salad was so sour but it didn't taste quite right to us so we didn't finish it. Service: 5/5 - friendly overall but some confusion since someone with the same name placed a order a few minutes prior to us Ambiance: n/a - ordered food to go. Music came from just one speaker by the kitchen and it was quite crowded with consistent traffic in during lunch time. Value for price: 3/5 - note that the main menu doesn't have prices on it so you'll have to grab a paper menu to check. Stopped here as we were passing through on a Saturday for lunch and it was great! It's easy to pass, so keep your eye out! They have a big selection on their menu, including a Kid's menu. Our food came quickly, was homemade and very fresh. The gyro meat was tender and well seasoned. The spanakopita was delicious! Even though it's an "order at the counter," the cashier came around and checked on us twice, which was nice! Bathrooms were clean, people were friendly, and the food was great! Was staying a night in town and ate here. Great for vegetarian options. Me and my dad both got "Falafel & fries" on the menu, but instead of fries I got red pepper hummus with pita chips. They have dif kinds of hummus and it's all homemade. He subbed his fries for greek salad and said was very good. Could tell the olives were fresh and not out of a jar. My mom got Crispy Chicken Aioli without the aioli and subbed her fries for fried pickles, and really liked all of it. The cashier was very patient with us ordering, as we were slow ha. Good at telling us the different options. Good space inside. Not hardly anyone there, but was only a few nights before Christmas so not too surprising. The menu is posted on the wall and there is plenty to choose from. I normally opt for a chicken schwarma, but I decided to go with the lamb gyro. My roomie and I grabbed drinks and sat down. Upon walking inside is a beautiful, peacefully lit shop with clean tables and very friendly faces. I told her I'd never eaten there before. I was INSTANTLY greeted and assisted with my menu choice. She even let me taste test the meat AND the sauce. I ordered the normal gyro with fries, I added feta cheese (a customer favorite) The meat was very tender, and the sauce is very light. I'm a very pro-sandwhich anything, so naturally I kind of knew I'd love this. It was nicely wrapped in tin foil (which I bit into multiple times devouring this) every bite is a beautiful array of flavors of tender meat, juicy tomato and crisp, fresh lettuce and onion. We have been regular patrons at WooHooII since we moved here 2 years ago. The entire experience is always wonderful. Employees are always kind and helpful. The food is always well prepared and tasty. We have diverse needs...hubs is vegetarian and I am a carnivore. He loves the falafel pita and I have enjoyed several of the meaty offerings, BUT my new favorite? The crispy chicken tenders in pita with some killer aioli!!! My first thought after tasting this newfound delight.....? When could we plan on coming back for a repeat performance? Yep! The repeat visit confirmed my initial evaluation!! The crispy tenders with the silky aioli were just as delicious as the first ones. Now I have a new favorite to "WOO HOO" about!! We absolutely love this place! We're never not craving Greek food and gyros, and so Woo Hoo is never not the move. My boyfriend tried spanakopita for the first time ever and his eyes lit up with the first bite. He kept asking what it was called and kept butchering the pronunciation (same though). The gyro platters we got were also amazing and great portion. I think it was a Thursday that we went--whatever day it was the sweet tea was free. Passing through Elizabethtown at lunch time and Yelp pointed the way to Woo Hoo II (where's Woo Hoo I?). It had been a hot minute since my wife or I had last had a gyro and that sounded like something to rectify. Woo Hoo II appears to be a former gas station that has been remodeled into a restaurant. It's clean and inviting (and we appreciated knowing it had that health score of 100!). Order at the register and they quickly bring out your food. My wife had the gyro wrap, I had the gyro burger, and we split a falafel side. The falafel came on a bed of feta with a side of tazyki. Honestly some of the best falfel we've had. My gyro burger was delicious--a crispy, buttery bun with a smoky well cooked beef patty, a slice of melty pepper jack, and a heaping of gyro meat, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Seasoned spicy fries on the side--yum. We lived Woo Hoo when they were in Ft Knox and were disappointed last year when they were gone! This year we saw an add and decided to go out and find them. It was a little out of the way, the way Google took us and the "used to be a gas station but now we're a restaurant" is kinda hokey, but it works! We had Gyro sandwiches. What they lack in appeal from the outside is more than made up for on the food! An old fuel station turned into Greek eatery, the spin on the cuisine is outstanding. Both well seasoned and served with their signature aioli. Some of the meals we ordered were the chicken shawarma, cheeseburger, kids gyro, kids chicken tenders, fried chicken wrap, falafel, and gyro burger. The only reason the gyro burger wasn't finished was because of how huge it was! Falafel (personal favorite) was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
