My sister went to their Ed for a bad gall stone attack. It took them over two and a half hours to get to her. Basically drugged her up and sent her on her way. She lives alone. I'm an hour and a half away. By the time I got there, they had discharged her and sent her on her way - stoned. No one to hear her instructions, no one to drive her home. She was aware enough to wait for me, but, my gosh the negligence and incompetence. read more

This review is not for the care received at the hospital, but for their billing department. Don't trust the billing department! Make sure to look into your bill before just paying. I received good care at the Falcon Health Center using my student insurance, where my insurance tells me I should receive the most affordable care. Not only did Wood County Hosptial incorrectly bill my insurance but they sent my lab work to a location out of network. I knew I would have a bill, but their ignorance in the billing department made the whole ordeal a nightmare. read more

If you need serious medical attention, DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY! This place is a joke and known throughout the community as a bandaid station. The staff is rude, the facility is not up to date and the overall representation looks like a safety village rather than an actual hospital. This facility is good for labs, imaging and stitches that is it. The nurses are uncaring, will not allow you to ask questions and treat every patient as a number. Their clear lack of care, professionalism, subpar communication, lack of resources and more are just a few out of a long list of reasons to not go here unless it is absolutely necessary. If you do happen to go here for treatment you have no one to blame but yourself for the poor service you receive. Horrible experience again. Read my lengthy review on Google reviews if you are interested in more information. The ER doctors have provided inaccurate, incomplete care for myself and another family member in the past 2 months. The first one was a 4 year old who was choking on a toy. I was the second. They failed to even try to get a proper diagnosis, despite the fact that I told them what was wrong with me. They almost let me die from lack of appropriate care 4 years ago. If my family hadn't forced them to transfer me to another hospital, I would have been dead within a few hours from massive sepsis caused by a gangrenous interabdominal abscess, which Wood County failed to diagnose, although I had been in the hospital for over a week. read more

I went in for a blood draw on 6/11 to be sent to my doctor for my appointment on 6/16. He had to use both of my arms for the draw. On 6/15 I got a call saying that the lab screwed up the results and I had to come in for another draw. It was to late for my doctor to get the results so now I have to go back again with another copay. They don't seem to care! read more

I have someone near and dear to me, who needed ER services in the Wood Cty Hospital. This "hospital" did not have resources to tend to a life threatening situation. This life threatening situation was a simple heart attack. This "large clinic" could not take care of one of America's main killers. Reason- They do not have any heart care units. What kind of hospital does not have the basics, but lures people in for expensive weight loss surgery and expensive cancer care treatments? I am not minimizing cancer care, as I had it in the past. I am now considered as "cured" from my bladder cancer. Patients should never be transported to Toledo or Findlay, when the BG college culture is for getting heart disease and alcohol-related heart issues, like many college towns. I am recommending that Wood Cty Hospital focus less on commercials with "healed" obesity, which is still clearly non-local folks, who are still obese and covering fat tummies, and cancer claims of cures. These commercials do not cast a good light on the hospital, if they do not have the basics. Luckily, my loved one did not die. But he almost did. Thats my point. Stabilization and transport is never a good hospital model. Nor is it a good model for success. read more

The er is horrible, Dr Stahl looked at my baby for a second between bites of his food. Mis diagnosed him and sent us home. Thank god for our Pediatrican and a real hospital St. Vs that took care of my child. Don't take a baby to wood county er they,have no clue!! read more

My wife had shoulder replacement surgery at Wood County. The experience was nothing short of fantastic. I'm really tired of seeing negative reviews for obviously great businesses. Let's face it, unhappy people are far more likely to take the time and effort to leave a review. We entered the surgical reception area at 8am. It was incredibly clean, spacious and well designed. The staff was warm, professional and well trained. Assigned a nurse in pre-surgery my wife was shown to a clean well equipped room and started intake. The nurse was caring, knowledgeable and very efficient. We were kept well apprised and given a beeper. It would advise us of her progress throughout the procedure. The nursing staff was incredibly kind. They let us know when she was prepped for the procedure, the surgery started, when she went to recovery and when she was assigned a room and we could visit. Her nurse, Liz, was professional, caring, knowledgeable, and kind. The private room was clean and comfortable. The food was even good!!!! Wood County Hospital is an outstanding facility. I highly recommend it to everyone. read more

The ER is HORRIBLE!!! I would rather spend the extra time to drive to Toledo to see an actual doctor. I went it for a lump that I found and they told me to try at home care first and that I shouldn't waste their time when it isn't a real emergency. Being a college student away from home, this was the worst thing to hear. I have never felt so stupid for wanting medical attention. Not to mention, she turned it around on me saying that I was depressed and needed to talk to someone. Last year, my boyfriend broke his foot and they waved him off with some crutches and an ACE bandage, he ended up needing a cast. Luckily he knew something was seriously wrong or he would have needed surgery. read more

Showed up 8 minutes early to our appointment. Only for a physical and final shots. Didn't get seek until after 40 minutes of waiting... I could see maybe 15 due to being early but FOURTY is outrageous! It is ALWAYS this way at wood county. Especially in Dr. Lemon's office. Wood county hospital is worthless with the waiting time. I asked the nurse right as she called my nephews name after waiting 40 minutes, how long it was going to take. Her answer was "not really sure.... He's the next one in line" My children will NOT be patients here. read more

I had come down sick on Monday and by Thursday I couldn't breathe very well. I called my family doctor and he got me in right away because he knows my history with bronchitis and pneumonia. By Saturday evening I could hardly breathe so my husband took me to the Wood County Hospital Emergency Room. ~~~~~ I was taken care of in a timely manner in the emergency room and then admitted into the hospital with acute bronchitis. (I get bronchitis quite a bit and if I don't catch it soon enough it usually turns in to pneumonia.) ~~~~~ I was put on IV antibiotics and steroids and other medicines while I was in the hospital, along with breathing treatments every 4 hours. ~~~~~ The only complaint I really had was the respiratory therapist (an older woman with a not-very-nice-attitude or demeanor and NOT professional at all! ~~~~~ I actually HEARD her gossiping about people - very improper in a hospital environment. She even said something snide to my nurse while she was leaving my room. ~~~~~ I did not get ANY sleep in the hospital because every hour someone came in to take blood, check my stats, give me a breathing treatment, etc. (48 hours without sleep makes you feel a lot worse) ~~~~~ When the doctor came in the next morning, I asked him if I could go home to get some rest. He wanted me to stay one more day, but I told him I got much better rest at home and I could breathe much easier now. The doctor said that if my oxygen level was high enough, he would agree to release me. ~~~~~ What that entailed was to walk around the hospital corridors after receiving another breathing treatment. ~~~~~ The RUDE respiratory therapist gave me the treatment, then walked me around the hospital a little. While we were walking, someone behind a nurse's desk asked how I was doing. The therapist answered: "Oh, she's just got a cold." What the heck? What right did she have to say ANYTHING about me to someone else? She does not know my history. She was TOTALLY out of LINE! ~~~~~ It really made me feel worse when she said the rude things she said. She even had the GALL to tell me the person she was gossiping about to someone in the hall earlier before she entered my room was NOT ABOUT ME! ~~~~That old lady needs to RETIRE; she is RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!! And VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! ~~~~~ I will NEVER let her give me another breathing treatment in my life! Such RUDENESS and so UNPROFESSIONAL! ~~~~~ She really made me feel WORSE. Wood County Hospital needs to get rid of her before she upsets any other patients. read more

There is no need to go anyplace else. Wood county hospital has an excellent medical staff who treats each individual with prompt and professional service. Most of the staff lives locally and cares about the community. Its a blessing to have such quality care so close without having to drive so far away or wait in long waiting rooms. read more

Went into ER last week with eye injury. There were no staff in the ER room. Had to write on half sheet of paper my name (not the time of arrival mind you) and put face down in a tray. I couldn't really see - but I need to locate this paper, write, and read directions. Then waited 24 minutes until a 'human' had contact with me. ER = emergency room. Not wait around for 24 minutes! During intake, door left wide open with personal questions being asked and vital signs being 'announced' - no understanding of privacy and confidentiality. I saw a man who had to walk himself down the hall with his hand bleeding over a bucket and no assistance. Another man had to 'walk himself' into the ER rooms. People come to the emergency room because of an emergency and need assistance - not wonder why there are no humans in the ER. read more
