Luxe Laser Center has a very detailed website with pricing for all their services and the cost for a half leg wax and underarm wax seemed reasonable so I stopped in for the first time. The building is large with an open feel and everything looked fresh and new with a relaxing color palette. The lady at the front desk was unfriendly and gave me a bad first impression. My aesthetician was Tracy and I really liked her. She had such a warm and friendly personality and was very easy to talk to. The waxing room was spacious and the bed I laid on was heated. For the first time ever, the waxing did not hurt! Tracy said she preferred to use hard wax on the delicate underarm skin because it is gentler and she was right- I barely felt any pain. She used regular wax on my legs, but still- it wasn't half as painful as at other salons. Another plus is that the half leg wax included the knee. Most places don't do this. I got my breast augmentation done here. I have severe anxiety that stops me from doing a lot of things. So as you can imagine my consultation day came and I nearly had a heart attack. The doctor and his wife are amazing people. I was instantly comfortable upon meeting the both of them. The facility is very very clean, which was another worry off my chest. The girls at front desk are sweet and cute as buttons. Very helpful. When surgery day came, I was again on the floor in panic until Dr. Banker came in and made fun of my boob sweat. Instantly breaking the tension. The surgery itself went so fast. I did "twilight anesthesia" and was actually happy with that as general anesthesia dangerous. I was in no pain, and actually over exaggerated the pain I was in to my husband so I could push off household chores on him lol! I had an awkward experience at this place the other day. I got my spider veins worked on. When I had my consultation with the doctor he said it would cost me an affordable amount. When I called to schedule the appointment the price jumped $75. The day of the appointment after the produce had been done the price actually jumped $150. I was in shock and was trapped into paying the new much higher amount. I have an appointment next month and I have been quoted the cost will be $500. I have had 2 appointments with Luxe and an upcoming surgery scheduled later this month. Every time I have been in their office the office staff, doctor and nurse have been very knowledgeable, professional and polite. The aesthetician explained that an appointment before me had run over because the client was late. Well as long as I got my 60 minute facial I was okay with the wait. I did not get my 60 minute facial. By 4:25 i was back up at the desk to check out. I understand that I may have purchased a discounted service, but I was expecting a 60 minute facial! Not 25 mins. Got a chemical peel with Luxe Laser Center in 2017 that was great but this one not so much. The same chemical peel was rubbed on my face and over a few areas frequently causing my cheeks to have red spots (this didn't happen the last time). 29 Years Old; Face is FOREVER Changed/distorted After Co2 Laser! I originally went into a local place ran by Mr. Wade Banker and his wife Angie called Luxe Laser in Maumee, Ohio for literally 3 small acne scars. I asked the doctor if he could spot treat the small blemishes. He proceeded to tell me it 'would be better if we could go over your whole face because it would be a nice even treatment'. I hesitated because I knew had a very lovely face and beautiful skin- and only have few minor blemishes but asked him what that would even mean or be like if I did something like that (had never heard of it before)? He said I would simply have a little pinkness/sunburn type effect for up to 2 weeks and would be wearing makeup in 3-4 days. Mind you this place looks very upscale to me so I assumed the high price was just the going rate for a simple treatment. He mentioned nothing that this is 1.) considered face surgery in Ohio. 2.) this is a VERY invasive procedure. 3.) it could take MONTHS to recover because it is such a large procedure with great downtime. 4.) Never referred to it as a procedure or a surgery AT ALL. My husband was with me for this what I thought was a very light treatment plan and heard the entire conversation which lasted all of 5 minutes. I trusted the Dr. and thought well my skin is amazing so this is probably a very simple again treatment. I was provided zero articles of information on this or any info except what was above- it was all VERY 'nonchalant'. A sad regret is that I had cancelled because I didnt want to have a 'sunburn' as he would put it for 10-14 days but then the lady convinced me on the phone to go for the whole treatment because her 'cousin had it done at my same age and loved it'. So, going through a lot of stress in my life, I thought it sounded kind of pampering and something nice/fun to treat myself to and decided to go with the 'treatment' after all. During the actual lasering, I was disturbed by the pain- it was worse than childbirth times 2. I wanted to scream STOP but he said 'Oh most people think this is not a lot of pain at all but you seem to be the the type to feel it more'. So I thought I was just being a baby and tear-eyed through it. When they were done I stood up and looked in the mirror and could not believe what I just felt and what I saw- I looked like freddy kreuger. I started having a panic attack because I knew in my gut that I had just went through something other than what I was expecting from any doctor with integrity. I freaked out for days and days as I watched my face start going through crazy changes- extreme tightness and my looks seemed to become cartoony and over-stretched....my whole entire face is different right before my eyes I look like a freak to me and I half-recogize myself literally. It is like a HORRIBLE bad dream. I also have these grooves all over my face which he mentioned nothing above being a possibility....and they are like corduroy lines all over my face and I see no improvement in them as I look every day they are heavy. My husband and kids are completely freaked out and my whole house is just in shock and sadness. I have reached out to this laser-mill clinic and told them my hurt....but they seem very inconsiderate and have zero feeling for me. I asked the female owner 'have you had this done to your face?!' and she said no. I said 'why did you do something so strong to me- it's not like I am a old lady' and she just kept acting like it was no big deal and like I was being a baby. Her husband, Mr. Banker also spoke with me on the phone but will NOT see me in person and now avoids me if I call he is always too busy to talk to me. He had told me though after I asked how strong of a setting he used 'Well we went PRETTY DEEP'. I said 'WHY would you do that!?' and he said ' The deeper we go the better the results'. So the damage is done. I have nightmares every night that my husband is not going to be with me anymore over this...I wake up terrified and what I think is post traumatic stress disorder mixed with major depression and anxiety now. I checked myself into a suicide center in town because my frantic shock soon took me over with every glance I saw in the mirror- knowing there was nothing I could do to reverse what had happened. On top of all this, my forehead gets nerve pain and my eyes feel like they have suction cups over them from all the tension and pulling all over my face. My smile is nothing the same whatsoever, can you imagine!? I do not know where to turn except to God. I m mortified, ashamed, scarred in my soul...my heart is literally broken and I am terrified to leave the house even. I keep wondering what I did to deserve this and how I could trust this man so much....how this could all go so wrong with nothing to make it right. Do not go here if you want to be treated like a human instead of just another person to make money off of. I went to Luxe Laser for a tattoo removal and will never go back. Dr. Banker was incredibly unprofessional and I left the session crying, not because of pain but because I felt violated. It has been over a year since this appointment but I finally realized I wanted to share my story in hopes that it prevents someone else from feeling like I did. My appointment was, what I assume to be, the last appointment on a Friday. This was my first session so, like any person who cares about their body, I had a lot of questions and I wanted to have a consultation about the procedure before jumping right in. I checked in and the secretary told me to seat. Upon meeting Dr. Banker, one of the first things out of his mouth was, "Oh! That must be the tattoo." This make me incredibly insecure from the start. No respectable doctor comments on their patient's bodies like he did. I informed him that I wanted a consultation prior to the session and he looked at me like I was nuts and told me they don't provide that. This should be your sign this place DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS PATIENTS. I should have left right there, but I had already been waiting. So I was immediately seated and I asked if I could get some numbing cream or lidocaine. Anything to prevent pain. He frustratedly told me, "No, you should have gotten some before. We don't have time to apply it now. You should should have came in earlier." Again, if this is my first time, how would I know that? The secretary didn't offer me anything. The person on the phone who made this appointment also didn't inform me of this. So we begin with the process and it literally felt like my skin was burning off and was incredibly painful. Obviously, I must be okay with some pain if I got the freaking tattoo in the first place. I also have had laser removal of varicose veins (at a different doctor's office prior) so I'm not afraid of a little pain. I asked him to stop with tears running down my face. I wanted a moment to collect myself to continue. He sat there tapping his foot and looking at his watch. Here I was literally crying from pain and he expressed ZERO empathy. Instead, he said, "You need to make a decision, we are running out of time." I felt like my pain was inconvenient. I said, "Are you sure there is no lidocaine shots or something?" He replied "No, that is not a thing." So I took a deep breath and told him to continue, I wanted to at least complete one session. One thing they tell people is that when you are in pain, focus on your breath. So that is what I did, breathed in, breathed out, breathed in, breathed out. It was at that moment that Dr. Banker did one of the most egregious things I have EVER had a doctor do. He said, "Well, I'm glad your breath smell okay because you are breathing in my face." I was already incredibly vulnerable as I was in pain, this made it unbearable. I wanted to get out of the room because he made me feel worse than the actual laser. I finished up the session and left. I sat my car with tears streaming down my face in embarrassment while I watched him leave immediately after my session to go celebrate his Friday night. What I got out of this session is don't trust every doctor. Some are magnanimous and want to help but others just want to make money. If things don't feel right, leave. Now, I live in LA and am lucky to a lot of options, I told my new doctor this story and they said, they couldn't believe my experience.
