Tried the mushroom pizza. I thought that the dough and pizza had a good taste. It wasn't my favorite Neapolitan ever, but the flavor was decent.

Such a good spot with a cozy atmosphere. I love the wood + fire pizza and tried the arancini last night that was good as well. Service has been good and friendly!

Best pizza, service and Italian ambiance in Massachusetts! Simple menu and bold flavors nostalgic of my childhood. I'd give more stars if I could. Disagree, great, more for me! Viva Napoli

Always reminds me of me trip to Italy when I smell a freshly opened Peroni.

Enjoyed a very tasty pizza meal on my birthday at Wood & Fire. Terrific food, nice ambiance and friendly fast service.

Really nice Neapolitan pizza spot in Melrose. Crust was a little floppy, especially for the namesake "Wood + Fire" pizza, which had a LOT of toppings. The flavors were solid though. The beer selection was just OK. The star of the meal for me was the meatballs. My family is from Avellino and these beef and pork meatballs brought me right back to my childhood. Maybe not everyone's taste, but the most authentic I've found anywhere. Truly perfect.

First time here. Walked in on a Saturday evening for an early dinner with no wait. Food and service were great and super affordable! Would highly recommend this spot and we plan on coming back to try their entree items

Cute place that was able to seat 2 at the bar with no reservation at around 6:45 on a Friday so that was nice. Got the calamari, villanova and campania pizza. Calamari was good with a mayo kind of dipping sauce and nice hot peppers. The pizza was alright, a little softer, I like the bottom a little less floppy but crust was nice. It did take a while for apps and pizza, so that was a disappointment.

Amazing servers. Love the peach ice tea. Would like the pizza a little less burned on bottom but overall flavor was good. Nice area with Shaws next door for parking.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. We started with the meat Ragu arancini. The pepperoni pizza with hot honey and the wood + fire pizza was delicious. Then we ended the night with the churros with Nutella and sweet ricotta. Fantastic service from Kristen. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

No need to travel to DT Eataly anymore. Here you get pizza that tastes equally amazing! I can't wait to get another one soon.

The rice balls are 10 dollars each! 2 inch in diameter and taste bland. Crazy crazy price for a small bland tasting ball of rice!

My wife and I made a reservation for a Saturday night and upon arrival were seated immediately. To…read morestart, we ordered a perfectly cooked octopus antipasti, followed by tortellini alla norcina, and for a secondi the vitello alla petroniana (we were debating between this pasta/secondi combination and the pasta bolognese/swordfish special - will have to come back to get these next time!). I don't typically eat veal, and this cutlet was perfectly balanced - rich, savory, crispy, with a pleasant (but not overwhelming) salty kick from the prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano. We also ordered the spicy broccolini, which I highly recommend for the garlic lovers out there. For dessert we had the dark cherry (amarena?) gelato, which was delicious and creamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. We shared each dish, and it was certainly plenty of food for the two of us. Prices felt reasonable for the amount and quality of what we ordered (all of the above + 2 drinks from the bar totaled approx. $160 pre-tip). The restaurant space itself is relatively small but has enough space to move around comfortably, which made it cozy without ever getting too loud (it was a pretty full house when we went), with a balanced dim lighting. Additionally, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the server patiently walked us through the menu and shared suggestions at our request. On a personal note I am especially appreciative of the staff, as I accidentally left without my hat, and the restaurant responded almost immediately to the message I sent through the restaurant website that same evening. Tl;dr - great menu, rich & hearty but balanced ingredients/recipes, and comfortable vibe. One really gets the impression that the husband/wife owners had a specific vision that they successfully brought into reality.

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, so it's a great place for date night. The Fantastic: 1. Service -- our waiter was amazing, he took great care of us. We wanted for nothing! 2. Tortellini Alla Norcina -- this was delish. It was creamy, a little funky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. 3. Cacio e Pepe -- also delish. 4. Mussels -- perfectly cooked, big and plump, and the bread to sop up the broth was also yummy. The plates are beautiful, but I think that plating and presentation takes priority over the food sometimes: 1. Bruschetta -- this was supposed to come with a balsamic drizzle, but it was served on a wooden plate and the drizzle was tiny and thin, so there wasn't really any balsamic. The dish could have used it to help cut through the cheese. 2. Bombolone -- dry, there was not a lot of custard in the pastry, and the surrounding sauces were more decorative than helpful. We did not enjoy the mixed drinks, they were all on the sour side and watery. So I would stick with wine or beer, the wine we had was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice time and would return.

This in my humble opinion is the best Italian restaurant in the region. The service was top notch and the food was cooked nicely. Our table had the chicken parm, chicken broccoli alfredo and scallops and everyone mostly enjoyed their meals. The reason for 4 stars is the scallops were supposed to be served over mush vellutata drizzled with basil oil and they were served on plain mashed potatoes. They did not tell us about this substitution and we ordered 2 of them. This was disappointing as it was a factor for why I chose to order the dish and I did not finish my meal. Additionally they have a profiterole on their dessert menu I was excited to try and that is no longer available. I'd encourage the restaurant to be more proactive about letting diners know of substitutions during the ordering process and to update their online menu.
